"Oh-ho-ho! Now I know exactly how Anastasia felt when she caught me in this same predicament. Awkwaaard," Matt drawled, dragging out the last word with a grin.
Sean's head snapped toward the door, his eyes wide with horror. "Matt?! Billy?!" He scrambled to cover himself with the first thing he could grab—the girl's slinky green dress—and ended up clutching it to his chest like it was some kind of pathetic shield.
Billy crossed his arms, looking unimpressed. Matt, on the other hand, was having the time of his life.
"You know, bro, that color really brings out your eyes," Matt teased, leaning casually against the doorframe. "You going for the 'sexy runaway bride' look? 'Cause I gotta say, you nailed it. Don't worry, I won't tell Dad. But congrats on, uh, popping the cherry, man. Big moment. Proud of you."
Matt extended a fist bump, but Sean swatted his hand away, his embarrassment morphing into exasperation. "You're a damn idiot. I would hug you, but, uh, obviously... I'm not in the best attire for that right now. Give me a second to put some pants on while you explain what the hell you two are doing here."
Matt smirked, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Trust me, bro, I'm all for sibling bonding, but let's save the naked hugs for, I don't know... never."
Sean, rolling his eyes so hard they almost got stuck, ducked into the bathroom. The door stayed slightly ajar, signaling he was listening.
Billy and Matt exchanged a glance. They didn't have much time, and neither was sure how Sean would take what was about to be dumped on him.
Billy cleared his throat. "We need to go. Now."
Sean's voice echoed from the bathroom. "Go where?"
"The airport," Billy said, lowering his voice.
The bathroom door swung open so fast it smacked against the wall. "Oh! You need a ride? That's cute, but no. It's late, and I have more, uh, pressing matters." Sean gestured vaguely toward the bed.
Matt shook his head, his expression turning unusually serious. "Sean, I—wait... what the fu—"
His words choked off as something unnatural happened.
The girl, the one still curled up in the bed looking amused, suddenly moved. Too fast. Too smooth. Her head snapped up, and her features contorted into something straight out of hell. Glowing red eyes, sharp teeth, and a snarl that sent a wave of pure terror through the room.
Sean, catching Matt's horrified expression, turned slowly, almost as if he didn't want to see what he already knew was behind him.
When he did, he screamed. Loud. And completely justified.
"OH MY FUCKING GOD! WHAT IS THAT?!"
"YOU TELL ME, BRO! YOU JUST FUCKED IT!" Matt shouted back, shoving Sean behind him.
Billy had already stepped forward, his body shifting into a defensive stance. "Why are you here?" His voice was calm, but there was steel underneath.
The demon-girl bared her teeth, a sound halfway between a purr and a growl rolling from her throat. "You know why."
Billy narrowed his eyes. "So, you and your friends already know about these two?"
The demon smirked, her sharp teeth glinting. "How long did you think you could keep them hidden? While you wasted hours, we had plenty of time to play."
Billy's expression darkened. "What did you do?"
The demon laughed. A bone-chilling, unnatural sound that made every hair on Matt's body stand on end.
"He will die soon," she whispered, her voice dripping with sick satisfaction. Her gaze flicked to Sean. "And the pretty boy... he dies now."
And then she moved. Too fast. Too smooth.
Billy barely dodged as she lunged, her claws swiping at his throat. Sean and Matt stumbled back, frozen in shock. The demon turned, slashing at Billy again, but he blocked with his arm, the impact sending him crashing into Sean's desk. Papers and books exploded into the air.
Matt, adrenaline kicking in, grabbed the nearest chair and hurled it. The wood splintered against the demon's back, knocking her off balance for half a second—just enough time for Billy to unsheathe a celestial blade from under his jacket. The blade shimmered with holy energy, the kind that made demons recoil in fear.
But this one? She wasn't scared. She was enraged.
Sean, still in shock, finally found his brain again and did the only thing he could think of—grabbed the thickest textbook from his shelf and slammed it into the demon's skull with a sickening crack.
"Finally! These damn books are useful for something!" he muttered, voice shaking.
The demon staggered, then turned on him, eyes burning with fury.
Matt, seeing the opening, launched himself at her with a desk lamp like a football player charging downfield. He swung with everything he had, slamming the metal base into her head. She hissed in pain but barely flinched before backhanding him so hard he went flying into the wall.
Billy roared, wings snapping open, their glow filling the room. "ENOUGH!"
The demon snarled, lunging again, but Billy was faster. He dodged, twisting the celestial blade in a lethal arc, and plunged it into her chest.
The demon let out an ear-splitting shriek as dark smoke poured from the wound, her body convulsing violently. Her glowing red eyes flickered, dimming as her strength drained away.
Billy twisted the blade deeper.
"No! This... can't be!" she shrieked, her body beginning to disintegrate into ash.
And then—silence.
Nothing but the soft sound of ashes crumbling to the floor.
Matt groaned, rubbing his head. "Holy shit. What the fuck just happened?"
Sean, still standing in nothing but his boxers, dropped the textbook. "I just... I just slept with a demon. I'm gonna be sick."
Billy, panting, wiped demon ash from his blade and turned to the brothers, his face lined with exhaustion. "You guys okay?"
"Oh, peachy. Just got bitch-slapped by a demon, but yeah, totally fine," Matt muttered, pushing himself up.
Sean exhaled shakily, staring at the spot where the demon had been. "I am never complaining about my boring college life again."
Billy sheathed the blade, his expression serious. "There's a lot you don't know. But tonight? You proved you can handle yourselves. Your dad's gonna be proud."
Sean held up a hand. "Oh, we have many, many questions."
Matt cut in. "But first—you have wings?!"
