Chapter 50 – Billy’s Sacred Vow

The days following Rose finding out the truth was filled with a mix of emotions and doubt. She decided to remain on the yacht, keeping a distance from Billy, and decided not to get involved in the training sessions Anastasia, Matt, and Sean were doing. The boat swayed calmly on the open water which she often peered out on while her mind was in anguish as she tried to understand all the things that Billy and the others had told her. An angel. The term continued to feel unfamiliar and unreal. She needed time to reflect and to discover more about the man she thought she knew but had fallen in love with.

Billy allowed her some room but couldn't stop monitoring her from afar but there was weight on his heart from their unresolved issues. One evening, as the sun set below the horizon, casting golden colours across the water, Billy was waiting for her on the deck. Once she came out onto the deck, surprised to see him standing there, the air was tense as they stood in silence for a moment, the only sound the soft lapping of the waves against the hull.

"Rose, can we talk?" Billy asked as carefully as possible as he wasn't sure if she was still mad at him.

Rose turned to face him as her eyes searched his for answers but proceeded to fold her arms and nod.

"I am sorry you had to find out that way. There was a way I wanted to tell you privately and gently but unfortunately, time was not on my side. I can only imagine what you must have felt when you found out like that but I just want you to know that I was going to tell you everything but it was a secret I couldn't share immediately."

"I just… I need to know why, Billy. Why didn't you trust me with this? We've been through so much together," she questioned in almost a desperate need to know more.

"It's not that I don't trust you…I do but I've seen what happens when people find out the truth too soon…it changes everything. I couldn't bear the thought of you looking at me differently, being scared of me, or worse, losing what we have," Billy sighed, running a hand through his hair still afraid he might lose her over this but he tried to play it cool.

"So, what now? Where do we go from here?" she asked as her body started to relax

"I want you to be with me, Rose. I want you to learn how to protect yourself, to stand with me if that's what you want. I'm asking a lot, I know," he continued.

I do know one thing Billy and that is that I love you so if that means training to protect myself to be part of this crazy world to be with you, then it's a chance I need to take."

Billy's expression filled with relief, but he knew there was more she needed to understand.

"Rose, if you choose to be with me, I just want you to know there are tough battles we will face as you will be joining a world of angels, demons, and demon hunters."

He paused, watching her face as she absorbed his words and he knew he needed to be completely honest with her.

"Angel Guardians, which is what I am, we do more than protect demon hunters, fighting demons and protecting the innocent. We fight forces of darkness and make sure they don't overrun the world so if you become mine Rose, you'll be part of that world. You'll be my partner and my equal in every way and when we have children, we will train them to be Angel Guardians for the legacy, a lineage that they'll carry on like me."

"Our children…" she whispered as her eyes widened and the weight of his words both excited and terrified her.

Billy nodded, taking her hand in his. "Yes, our children. They would inherit the responsibilities from me…from us. But there's something else you need to know about angels and how we choose our mates."

"Angels and humans don't fall in love the same way. When we find our mate, it's instant and forever. The moment I saw you, Rose, my soul recognized yours as my mate immediately and I became bound to you. But the thing is, you have to choose me as well..." He looked deeply into her eyes as his expression turned serious.

"What do you mean?" Rose tried to process what he was saying.

"If you choose to be with me like I have chosen you, you'll be my mate for life. But if you reject me… if you decide this isn't the life you want, I'll have to settle for someone else but it would never be the same because the bond I feel for you, the connection we have, it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. And if it's broken, I'll never have that with anyone else."

"So, I have to choose you… knowing that if I do, I'm giving up everything I've ever known. My normal life… everything," Rose tried to sound calm and collected but her emotions were flaming with excitement hearing him saying these things to her - her! A simpleton! She was someone's mate but not just anyone - an angel of all people.

"Yes but you will have me by your side, our family, the other angels and the demon hunters. We are all brothers and sisters... well except my parents but you will have them too," he chuckled. For us, money is never an issue so you will be secure and we only work day time jobs for pretences so you can still graduate and do what you want to do. But you will have to train, just like the others. You'll need to be strong, to fight by my side as the Guardian's wife. You'll need to give up the life you've known for one that's far more dangerous, but also far more meaningful."

Rose's mind swirled with emotions as she took in everything he was saying. The idea of being part of something so much bigger than herself overwhelming but exhilarating. She had always felt there was more to life than the normal boring, everyday life she had known. She should be grateful because as young children, she and Dylan were adopted from different orphanages so they were lucky but she always felt there was more to life. And now, here was Billy, offering her a chance to be part of something extraordinary and if she really thought about it, security forever but at a great cost.

She looked into his eyes, seeing the love and the longing from the man with fear of losing her and the man she had loved for years who she thought she knew completely. She just realized there was so much more to him than she had ever imagined.

"I want you to be sure, Rose. I want you to know what you're getting into. This life—it's not for everyone. But if you choose me, if you choose us, I promise you'll never be alone. I'll be with you every step of the way. And I'll love you, protect you, with everything I have," Billy said, squeezing her hand, his voice softening.

Tears welled up in Rose's eyes as she considered his words. It was a lot to take in, but deep down, she knew the answer. She had always known since she had loved Billy from the moment she met him, and now knowing the truth about who he was and what their life together would entail, this new exciting life he offered, she realized that nothing could change that.

"I choose you too, Billy and I want to be with you, fight by your side, and be your mate forever," she whispered as she trembled slightly from excitement.

A look of happiness, relief and joy washed over Billy's face as he pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly.

"I hope you know how fucking happy you just made me Rose. I love you so god-damn much."

"Billy! You're an angel! You not supposed to say that!" Rose laughed.

Billy just looked at her, swatted away her last comment with a chuckle and he quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box, opening it to reveal a simple yet elegant ring. "I've had this for months, waiting for the right moment. I know things are complicated now, but that doesn't change how I feel about you. Rose, I want to spend the rest of my life with you—whatever that might look like. Marry me, Rose."

"Billy, I...I don't know what to say-" Rose felt her words catch in her throat, and her eyes widened in surprise.

"Say yes...and officially be mine forever," Billy muttered while feeling hope and anxiety at the same time.

Rose's eyes welled up with tears as she stared into his, sensing the depth of his love and the sincerity of his words. She nodded, a smile bursting through her tears. "Yes, Billy." "Yes, I will marry you."

Billy placed the ring onto her finger without hesitation, his heart flying as she put her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately. They kissed in a frenzy, fuelled by their vow to each other and the feelings that had been building between them for days.

They rushed below deck demonstrating their feelings for one other growing stronger with each touch and kiss. In Rose's cabin, they gently undressed each other and he took in the sight of her delicate skin and large breasts, while she touched his strong arms and powerful chest.

They laid down on the bed, and he gently entered her moaning slightly in her mouth. His thrusts soft at first but they became quicker and wilder as he muttered sweet nothings into her ear, telling her how much he loved her and how she made him feel whole.

"Oh, Billy, yes!" she cried out as he thrusted deeper and deeper inside her. "I love you so much!"

As she said that Billy, thrust even faster and Rose was right on the edge and suddenly her moans were so loud as they reached their peak together, their bodies shuddering with extreme pleasure as if it was their first time. Panting, sweaty, and with Rose's red hair cascading over the pillows in a beautiful mess, they lay together afterward, the gentle sway of the yacht lulling them into a peaceful silence, Rose couldn't help but smile. Despite everything—the revelations, the challenges that lay ahead—she knew she had made the right choice. Billy was hers, and she was his, and together, they would face whatever came next. Rose's breath hitched as she realized the gravity of his words.
