Chapter 59 – Waking up in the right arms

Anastasia woke up the next morning to the best thing ever. Bastian was right next to her, his arm wrapped tightly around her waist while he slept soundly. She turned slowly, propping herself up on one arm, and just stared at him, taking in every detail of his face. As if he felt her gaze, his eyes fluttered open, meeting hers.

"Morning, love," he smiled.

"Morning, baby," she whispered, grinning from ear to ear before giving him a quick kiss.

"Everyone else awake yet?"

"Nope, it's dead quiet," she giggled. "But I swear, my dad's gonna bust out his army horn any minute. He's been dying to use it."

Bastian smirked, his eyes darkening a bit. "In that case, let's make the most of it." He pulled her closer, kissing her with a mischievous grin, and before long, things heated up just like they had the night before.

After a lot of teasing and pleasing, their bodies were eventually moving together in perfect harmony, they were completely absorbed in each other and nothing else existed in their moments of pleasure. Just before they reached their peak, an ear-splitting horn stopped them in their tracks, both staring at the window.

"Perfect timing, Dad!" Anastasia groaned, about to get up, but Bastian held her still.

"Oh no, you're not going anywhere until we finish this." His grin turned playful, and she didn't argue as she wanted it just as much as he did so he continued his rhythm and continued to increase his pace, skin slapping against skin, as the pressure built. Anastasia wanted to scream but she bit into her palm as she released all the pressure into an explosion of ecstasy and Bastian followed soon after, muffling his moans by pressing his lips against hers.

Breathing heavily, they locked their eyes and Bastian choked out, "That was incredible. I hope every morning will be like this."

"Isn't too much of a good thing bad for you?" she arched one eyebrow at him.

"Nasa, if I could make love to you for eternity, it still wouldn't be enough," he responded and closed the gap between their faces, shoving his tongue in her mouth before they got up to get ready. Although, their decision to shower together may have been an unwise choice as they didn't come out for at least thirty minutes.

Everyone in the house except for the rangers and guards were woken up by an army horn Wyatt had obtained for special occasions just like this one as everyone had to be dragged out of bed, through their hangovers.

One by one each family member walked out to meet Wyatt on the front lawn dragging their feet although Billy was the only one who looked ready but the only two missing were Anastasia and Bastian.

"Where's Ana? Bastian?" Wyatt asked suspiciously. Billy's eyes went wide and he was about to walk inside, the two came out holding hands however what everyone saw shocked them to the core.

Warren was no longer Warren as Bastian didn't shift his back. When Rose saw her holding hands with this complete stranger, she narrowed her eyes in confusion. Everyone else had shock-ridden faces, frozen where they stood including Wyatt as they watched a gleeful Anastasia and Bastian walk down stairs towards them. Matt and Sean, who were initially dragged down by their handover, got over that all of a sudden, shot looks at each other, their faces breaking in smiles and rushed towards Bastian throwing their arms around him.

"It really is you!" Sean shouted in excitement making Bastian laugh.

As Matt let go, he held out his hand for a 'bro shake' and Bastian took his hand, and they hugged again. "It's so damn good to finally see your real face brother!"

"Wait…you guys knew?" Anastasia asked narrowing her eyes at them. They pulled away sheepishly and looked at her like naughty children.

"It wasn't our secret to tell Ana, I'm sorry," Matt muttered looking full of guilt.

"It was really hard to keep it from you," Sean added looking down at the ground.

"It's okay guys, I know that there is probably more I need to learn about how everything happened but all in due time so I am not mad at you," Anastasia smiled making the brothers smile happy enough to fist bump each other in a small victory.

However, when they turned around and saw their father's face, their smiles quickly faded and they went back to their places. Once Bastian and Anastasia looked at Wyatt and Billy, their smiles also faded. Wyatt looked at them in a very serious and pessimistic tone but he was looking more at Bastian then he was at Anastasia while Billy looked at his best friend with his arms folded in massive disapproval.

"Um, excuse me?" Rose managed to squeak out looking at Bastian and held her hand up to get his attention. "Not to sound rude or anything but who on earth are you?"

Before Bastian could answer, Wyatt decided to speak up, his eyes not leaving Bastian's. "This, Rose, is Bastian."

Rose looked puzzled, her gaze going from Wyatt to Bastian, to the floor and then suddenly her eyes went wide and then she started to laugh hysterically. Through her hysterical laugh, she managed to choke out, "I bet this is the part where you tell me, that this is the Bastian that was Anastasia's boyfriend and Billy's best friend who died right?" She continued to laugh but it soon faded when she saw everyone looking at her with serious faces and not one smile. "It's not THAT Bastian right?"

"The one and only my dear," Wyatt answered still staring at Bastian with discontentment.

"What?!" Rose gasped and shot her gaze at Billy. "I thought you said no more lies! This is a BIG one!"

"It wasn't Billy's secret to tell Rose. In fact, neither Billy nor Bastian was supposed to EVER tell anyone," Wyatt informed Rose and then shot a glare at Bastian. "But now I see all my children know especially if you changed your face…Bastian!"

"Dad! It's not his fault. I asked him to change his face back," Anastasia insisted.

"What?" Wyatt stepped back perplexed.

"I figured it out. It took a while but I figured it out. Dad, he is my best friend and the life of my life. He couldn't hide from me for much longer. Surely you must have known that…when you tried to keep this from me too…" she glared at him making him relax his face and retreat ever so slightly.

"Well…it was necessary," he stated, still firm in his stance. "Did you tell her everything?" He asked as he looked back at Bastian.

"Not yet, but I will," Bastian said as he looked at her hoping that she wouldn't confront him right then and there, and to his surprise, she was smiling warmly at him.

"Yes, he will," Anastasia added turning to look at Wyatt. "Right now, I am happy and enjoying the fact that he is here. He will tell me when we're ready."

Wyatt narrowed his eyes at Bastian. "Do it fast."

"Yes Sir," Bastian rushed out.

Anastasia rushed at Bastian holding his hands and they beamed at each other looking like they just won the battle. Bastian couldn't stop thinking about last night and how he finally got to be intimate with the woman he loved.

Just then, he swerved around suddenly when he heard a frantic yell.

"OH MY GOD!"
