Playing a game

"I brought a sharp knife !" someone shouted.

I turned and found out it was Liam coming towards the place meat was being butchered.

He was shirtless and his body was covered with blood. It seems he was among the men cutting the meat.

"Liam looked like a hot fresh piece of cake" one woman beside me. 

"He sure is" another woman said.

"Please Elena go and asked Liam what we should do with the fishes" Mary said to me.

"Why don't you shout it at him, he is over there" I said pointing at Liam.

"He won't hear me" she replied.

"OK" I said and started walking towards Liam.

I reached where he was and said to him "Mary is asking what should be done with the fishes".

"Oh tell her to cook it" he replied.

I turned to walk away when someone blocked my way.

"You are so pretty" the person said.

I looked at the person, it was a man but I haven't seen him before.

"Out of my way" I said calmly at him.

"I like stubborn girls so much, Angus hold this for me" he said handling Angus his wine cup.

I wanted to walk away but the man held my shoulder and wanted to hug me.

I kicked his groin and he fell on the floor.

"Next time you do something like this, I will cut it off completely" I told him.

The men started laughing at him, Angus came and helped the man up.

"I am coming, let me go and wash up and we will continue" he said holding his groin and walked away.

"Elena are you hurt?" Liam asked and came to where I was.

"Are you trying to behave like a gentleman?" I asked.

"No I was just worried about you" he replied.

"Why don't you worry about yourself and leave me alone" I said and walked back to where the women were.

"Liam sure like you" a woman said to me when I was seated.

"No he doesn't" I replied.

"He is really into dear, I haven't seen him act this way to a girl" she continued.

"And how exactly is he acting towards me?" I asked.

"He acts so lovely towards you" she replied.

"Lovely my foot" I muttered.

"So have he confessed his feelings to you?" the woman asked.

"Please everyone should leave Elena alone, she is tired" Mary said and came to where I was sitting.

"Help me cut the vegetables" Mary said to me.

"What are these?" I asked pointing at the vegetables she was with.

She looked at me shocked and replied "these are cabbages".

They are quite different from ours" I said.

"How is yours?" she asked.

"They are red in colour" I replied.

"Red in colour? I thought it was only royals that eats red cabbages in Bradon?" she asked.

"Yes my family eats it because the Royal family permitted us to do so" I replied.

"OK" she replied and started cutting the vegetables.

I looked at her face to see if she had any doubt about my explanation about the red cabbages.

I can't believe I wanted to expose my identity to her.

In Bradon, my kingdom only the royal family eats the red cabbage and no other people are allowed to eat it no matter your status. 

I wanted my identity to remain hidden from them because I didn't want to trust anyone again.

They might sell me to that pirate looking man or take me hostage and demand a ransom from my parents if they learn about my identity.

"Here cut these ones they are more softer" Mary said and handed me a wooden bowl with a cabbage and knife inside it.

I started cutting the vegetables making sure that I didn't cut myself.

"You are really good at cutting vegetables Elena, I thought it will be difficult for you" Mary said staring at my chopped vegetables.

"I am very good at many things" I boasted.

"Amazing" Mary said.

After we were both done with the cabbage, a pot was placed on the fire and the cabbages were poured inside the pot followed by carrots, onions, wild lettuce and mashed potatoes and was covered.

"What is this food called?" I asked.

"It is called cabbage salad" Mary replied.

"Let's go, the other women will take care of the food" she said to me.

We both stood up and came out of the place.

"I know that you are tired, why don't you go and rest in my hut, I will call you when the food is ready" she said.

"OK thanks" I replied and went inside her hut, her baby was sleeping peacefully inside his cot.

I want to the water jug on the table and poured a cup of water and drank it. I then laid on the bed and closed my eyes to rest.

A moment later, someone came inside the room and tapped me.

"Food is ready Elena" the person said.

"OK" I said and got up from the bed.

"Here is your food" Mary said and gave me a covered plate.

"Thanks" I greeted.

"Liam said I should go this to you" she said giving me another plate.

I kept the first plate on the floor and collected the second one from her.

"Enjoy your food" she said said went out.

I opened the second plate and saw big chucks of meat inside it, I took one and started eating immediately.

It was very delicious, even the cabbage salad.

"Their cook sure has some talent" I thought.

After I was done eating, I came out of the hut and saw Liam and his crew sitting around a fire talking. I started walking towards the place, "at you done eating?" Liam asked when I reached there.

"Yes, thanks for the meat and food" I replied.

"You should thank him very well because he was the one that co…", one of his male crew was saying but Liam interrupted him by closing his mouth with his hands.

"Why are you covering his mouth?" I asked Liam.

"He talks too much" he replied.

"OK" I replied and sat down with them.

"Oh Lady Elena, we have been waiting for you" one of the member called Ace said.

"Why?" I asked.

"We want you to try something wit…"

"Don't you dare" Liam interrupted.

"Come on Leader, it is harmless" the member he was covering his mouth before said.

"No"Liam said.

"OK let's play pick and do game, hope you are in Lady Elena?" Ace asked.
