Chapter 15: Preparation for Departure 3

I promised to travel with the Thief Cat and decided to let her rest at her grandmother's house.

The next day, I left Piyo's grandmother's house early in the morning. To be honest, I wanted to sleep a little longer—no, I wanted to sleep for half the day. I didn't want to venture into this dangerous world; I just wanted to relax in this safe village. My whole body is sore...

However, I can't rely on their kindness forever, and above all, I need to return to my original world as soon as possible.

Piyo's sister and brother were waiting for me when I left the house.

"You've helped this village a lot, and now you're about to leave. Please take this with you."

Piyo's sister handed me a large bag. There were many things packed inside.

"I've gathered a change of clothes, a sleeping bag, some food, candles, and other essentials I thought you might need. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing."

"Also, I got you some new clothes and shoes. The clothes are well-made, but they're not suitable for exercise."

I received new clothes and shoes from Piyo's brother, so I quickly changed in the shade of the building. The clothes are sleeveless, probably because of the harpies, but they're a hundred times better than wearing a suit all the time. The shoes are also made of soft fabric along with leather, making them easy to put on.

"Please take this with you as well. From now on, you'll be completely defenseless."

Piyo's brother handed me a dagger decorated with feathers. This place is different from the world I lived in. I don't know what will happen when I leave through those gates. Let's hope I don't have to use it.

"Thank you! My feet were hurting a lot because of my shoes. I was about to get blisters."

"That's good. Those shoes were borrowed from the thieves. Now go quickly before Piyo wakes up."

With that, I thanked them both and quickly headed to the village entrance.

"Hmm, you came as promised. My name is Sharin. Nice to meet you again, human."

"My name is Arisugawa Hiroaki."

We briefly introduced ourselves, then left the village.

"By the way, what happened to that harpy named Piyo?"

"Oh, I left her in the village."

When I said that, I heard a voice coming from the sky.

"It's terrible to leave Piyo behind."
