The power system

The power system in the novel will be divided into 2 paths :

The first path : Innate Ability :

The Soul Spark a fragment of the Original spark is a manifestation of an individual's essence, identity and soul. No two Soul Sparks are the same, meaning no two innate abilities are identical. These abilities are deeply tied to the individual's personality, desires, and soul. However, excessive use of the ability causes a strain on the soul spark and consumes focus.

•The awakening : At the age of 15, a selected few geniuses of Infynis awaken an innate ability tied to a specific law of the world, it also give them an affinity to the concepts and elements that fall under that law.

•Strengthening the Innate Ability :

1. Repeated Use:

This is the most straightforward way to strengthen the ability, it is also the only known method for public.

2. Self-Understanding:

A method only know for a few elites is to delve into understanding one's true self. It is the most effective way to strengthen the innate ability as it is tied to one's soul and soul spark.

The user must confront and resolve their regrets, fears, and insecurities, aligning their soul with their true desires. This process is difficult and requires immense effort and willpower, but it leads to Awakening.

•Awakening the true form:

When a user achieves true self-understanding, their Soul Spark undergoes an Awakening, unlocking the true form of their innate ability, their affinities becomes stronger as well.

The awakened ability aligns more closely with the user's deepest desires and becomes significantly more powerful.

The second path : Essence Control :

Innate abilities are unique, and while all abilities are useful, some are more or less powerful than others. But Essence Control is a more universal skill that can be learned and mastered by anyone. An essence controller can manipulate essence directly or use it in spells.

There are 7 ranks of mastery over essence. However, the highest 3 are only known as a legend. They are :

Rank 1 : Spark

Rank 2 : Flame

Rank 3 : Blaze

Rank 4 : Inferno

Each level requires the user to sense, understand, control, and assimilate a concept or a Law.

To rank up, the essence controller should achive a breakthrough relevant to his rank. Upon ranking up, the user can either deepen their understanding of their current Law or branch out into a new, stronger Law.

• Affinities :

If a user's innate ability aligns with a specific Law, they will find it easier to learn Essence Control related to that Law. For example, someone with a fire-based innate ability will excel at Fire Essence Control.

Growth Synergy :

Some individuals blend their innate abilities with Essence Control, creating unique and powerful techniques. Strengthening the Soul Spark through self-understanding and repeated use enhances both the innate ability and Essence Control, creating a synergistic effect.

• Power Dynamics:

- Physical Fighters: These individuals focus on enhancing their bodies with Essence, using techniques like reinforcement, speed enhancement, and durability. They may also use weapons or tools imbued with Essence called artifacts.

- Mages: These individuals focus on manipulating Essence externally, casting spells, creating barriers, and controlling the environment. Their power often depends on their mastery of Essence Control and their innate ability.

- Those are the main 2 types. Some might not fall under these 2 categories like : beast tamers, artificers, spirit contractors, alchemists ...
