Chapter 73: Tension Rising

Not long after, Johann piloted Angel One, bringing Michael and Nena to Ptolemaios.

"Thank you for allowing us to land. I am Johann Trinity, the Gundam Meister of Throne Eins."

"I am Michael Trinity, the Gundam Meister of Throne Zwei." Compared to the polite Johann, Michael still had a haughty demeanor, but when his gaze fell on Yang Hui, he instinctively shrank back.

"I'm Nena Trinity, the Gundam Meister of Throne Drei! Darling! I've missed you so much!" Nena removed her helmet and immediately lunged at Yang Hui.

"Eh?" Everyone was stunned, including Yang Hui, who thought, has this girl lost her mind? Do I know you? Uh… it seems I do.

But she's just a cardboard cutout! I haven't seen you since coming to this world, okay?

Thinking this, Yang Hui instinctively reached out and grabbed Nena's head, pushing her back.

"Little girl, stop messing around. Go play with your brother!"

"What? I like you! Handsome, forget that old hag and marry me!"

Sumeragi: (╬д)

Everyone else: Σ(Д;)

"Sorry, I'm not interested. A greenhorn like you is not even one-tenth as good as my Sumeragi," Yang Hui said. What a joke, this mentally twisted little girl—she has a decent figure… maybe… no skills, and not mature at all. How could she compare to my wife? Not even close!

Hearing this, Sumeragi felt a sweetness in her heart and instinctively linked her arm with Yang Hui's to assert her claim.

Meanwhile, Nena's face darkened completely, her eyes radiating killing intent: "Is that so? Then let's kill her! If I kill her, I can have you!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the atmosphere immediately turned tense. Setsuna and the others drew their guns, aiming at Nena, while Michael pulled out a small knife, ready for action.

"Calm down! Nena! Everyone, Nena is just joking, don't take it seriously." Johann quickly tried to mediate, pressing down hard on Nena's hand to prevent her from drawing her gun. This is someone else's territory; we're here to greet them, not to fight. Besides, there are only three of us; we need to count how many are on the other side.

"Tch." Nena's expression soured, but she relaxed her grip, and the others also put away their weapons.

However, one person was not ready to let it go.

"Hey, little girl, here's a reminder: some things shouldn't be said lightly, or the consequences can be severe." Yang Hui said coldly to Nena.

As soon as he finished speaking, a thick killing intent emanated from Yang Hui, making everyone present feel as if they couldn't breathe. Michael instinctively lunged at Yang Hui with his knife.

Yang Hui reached out with his left hand, twisting Michael's wrist, causing him to drop the knife in pain. Yang Hui pulled Michael towards him, gripping his neck with his left hand while his right hand caught the flying knife, swinging it down sharply, stopping just in front of Michael's eyes. A slight movement downward would pierce his eyeball.

The atmosphere became tense once again, but the composed Sumeragi and Johann immediately intervened.

"Everyone, don't move!"

Yang Hui glanced at Johann. Among the three siblings, he was the only one worth a second look.

Yang Hui then released Michael's neck, pushing him back behind Johann, and returned the knife to him.

"Kid, knives aren't toys. If you can't handle them, don't play with them." Yang Hui said coldly.

"What did you say!?" Michael glared at Yang Hui, his face twisted in rage, but deep down, he was afraid; the earlier confrontation had left a shadow in his heart.

"Be clear about who you're talking to, kid. When I went to battle, you were still playing in the mud somewhere." After saying this, he shot a look at Sumeragi and turned to walk towards the operations meeting room.

Sumeragi naturally caught Yang Hui's glance and calmly said to the three, "If you're done with the pleasantries, follow me."

"Tch, old hag." Nena muttered under her breath.

"Nena!" Johann, fearing another conflict, whispered to stop her. They were all part of Celestial Being (or so he thought), and they might need to cooperate in the future. This was still the other side's territory; they couldn't stir up more trouble.

Moreover… the killing intent Yang Hui had just displayed had indeed frightened him. No, it should be said that everyone was scared, including Setsuna and the others.

In their perception, Yang Hui had always been easy to get along with. Although he could be bad at times, he was still quite easygoing.

But that killing intent just now had even made Setsuna, a former child soldier, feel terrified. Even Sachez's killing intent couldn't compare to Yang Hui's.

...

The group arrived at the operations meeting room, and Sumeragi began her routine inquiries.

"Why do you have Gundams? And ones that aren't even in VEDA's database?"

"I'm sorry, but I cannot answer that. We have confidentiality obligations." Johann replied.

"Where did you obtain the GN Drive… the GN Drive?" Sumeragi asked again.

"I'm very sorry, but I still cannot answer." Johann replied.

"Who is your commander?" Yang Hui asked directly.

"Sorry, that's also confidential information. You don't have the clearance…"

"Whoa? What level of confidentiality is this? That even I, the head of the Celestial Being project, don't have clearance to know?" Yang Hui interrupted Johann's response.

"What?" The Trinity siblings were shocked. They only knew that Yang Hui piloted Gundam Rasiel very well, but they didn't know he was also the head of the Celestial Being project.

"Tch, who knows if what you're saying is true?" Michael retorted stubbornly.

"Contact your commander immediately, or I won't acknowledge you as part of the Celestial Being project." Yang Hui said coldly.

"But…" Johann was flustered. They didn't actually know who the commander of the Trinity team was; they just received instructions from someone named Ragna Harvey regularly, who had access to VEDA. As for the real commander, Ragna Harvey had clearly told them it wasn't him; he was just a messenger.

"What's wrong? Is there a problem? Or are you impostors?"

"No! We don't have a commander. All our actions are directed by VEDA. This rescue mission was also a direct task issued by VEDA." Johann found an excuse to say.

"...I will confirm with VEDA. I hope you're telling the truth." Yang Hui didn't press too hard. The Trinity team still had their uses; the current Earth was a powder keg that needed someone to ignite it, and the Trinity team was the best choice.

"Phew~" Johann sighed in relief. If Yang Hui continued to ask, he really wouldn't know how to respond.

"Tch, so boring. Johann, I'm going to explore the ship." Nena broke the tense atmosphere.

"Is that okay?" Johann didn't agree immediately but instead asked Yang Hui and Sumeragi.

"Do as you wish." Yang Hui shrugged.

"Is that really okay?" Sumeragi and the others were worried. They still hadn't confirmed the true identity of the Trinity team. If they let them wander around Ptolemaios…

"It doesn't matter."

"Hehe, darling still likes me!" Nena giggled, but when she saw Sumeragi's sour expression next to Yang Hui, her smile immediately faded as she opened the door and left.

"Is it really okay?" Sumeragi asked Yang Hui with concern.

"If she can do anything, I'll admit defeat." Yang Hui said dismissively, curling his lips.

With the fourth round of recommendations in hand, on the last day of the year, I wish everyone a happy family and good health!
