Chapter 230: Next Stop, Gundam SEED

The mobile suits were still being rebuilt, but the detailed data had already been recorded, and the training room was ready for use. Real simulations were conducted in advance to test for any necessary modifications and adjustments.

However, considering the "dazzling" state of the supply warehouse, it was best not to make changes unless absolutely necessary. Otherwise, it was uncertain whether there would be enough resources.

Fortunately, the evaluation system of Prometheus Fortress was excellent. During the design phase, potential issues had already been identified and addressed, leaving no unreasonable or major changes required.

Moreover, Setsuna, Lyle, and Tieria had not yet entered any mission worlds. Even if they trained day and night for a week, their growth would be limited.

Since there were no significant changes, their previous mobile suits were compared, and the internals were replaced with better technology. The GN Drives were also replaced with new engines and energy sources.

The remaining task was to modify the OS according to the requests of Setsuna, Lyle, and Tieria. Although the next world was still unknown, the current central hall was only at Level 2, so it was unlikely to encounter high-difficulty mission worlds. With three B-class mobile suits and one B+ class mobile suit, paired with their corresponding pilots, they definitely had the ability to protect themselves.

However, while the mobile suits of these three didn't change much, the changes to Flit, Jehart, Asemu, and Woolf's mobile suits were more significant. The Gundam Legilis, Gundam AGE-2, and G-Titan didn't show much external change, but their internal structures were completely updated. Their mobility, defense, flexibility, and output had all been altered, requiring early adaptation and mastery.

This was just the first change. The second change was in their armaments.

The Gundam AGE-1 underwent a comprehensive overhaul. The Offense-Shield System on both hands was equipped with dual high-output beam rifles attached to the surface of the shield. When the mode was changed, it could transform into dual high-output beam sabers. The inner side of the shield housed a triple grenade launcher. Two short swords, the [Blade of Downpour], were hung at the waist, and the shoulders were equipped with [X-Rounder Launchers]. The weapon backpack on the back not only provided high-speed flight capability within the atmosphere but also included two quadruple micro-missile launchers and two mechanical auxiliary arms.

This was the new form of the Gundam AGE-1 after breaking away from the AGE System. Yang Hui named it the Savior Form, a gift to celebrate Flit truly becoming a savior.

The Gundam AGE-2 didn't change much, remaining in the Barrett Hunter Form. Asemu was neither an X-Rounder nor an Innovator. As a natural human, he couldn't use the [X-Rounder Launcher], so two leg boosters were added to the original design. These not only increased the maximum speed in flight mode but also provided the MS form with a brief hovering capability within the atmosphere. Additionally, these external boosters could detach from the mobile suit, functioning similarly to floating shields. As for their operation… that was left to Haro.

The tail of the Gundam Legilis has been upgraded from one to two, not only enhancing its flexibility but also replacing the Beam Cannon with the Blade of Downpour, which features an extending function that can reach up to 500 meters, making it suitable for both close and mid-range combat. The Beam Rifle has been enhanced to include both penetration and explosive modes, while the shield's defensive capabilities have been strengthened. The X-Rounder Launcher and Beam Saber have been removed, along with the palm-mounted Beam Saber and Beam Vulcan. These have been replaced by two high-output Beam Sabers stored within the thighs, and the X-Rounder Launcher has been relocated to the shoulders, now in a dual configuration.

As for the G-Titan, at Woolf's request, the original missile launcher has been removed, and the back thrusters have been enhanced to improve mobility. Regarding armaments, Woolf stated that he couldn't handle too many weapons simultaneously, so a simple combination of a Beam Rifle, a sword-gun-shield composite weapon would suffice. Unlike being a firepower fortress, he prefers a combat style closer to Graham's.

However, considering that Woolf's physical condition and piloting skills are not on par with Graham's, Yang Hui specifically reinforced the G-Titan's armor and cockpit safety features to ensure Woolf doesn't get himself killed.

Finally, there are Yang Hui's Dawn Gundam and Graham's Flag Gundam.

The Flag Gundam has had its two Vargas Cannons removed from its back, and the entire structure of the unit has been altered. The Blade of Downpour on the wings no longer sits at the tip of the balancing wings when transforming back into MS mode but is instead hung at the lower back, with the ejection function removed, serving solely as a melee weapon. Two Beam Boomerangs have been re-equipped on the shoulders, and Graham seems to quite like this weapon. Lastly, the armor and frame have been reinforced, especially the frame's flexibility, as Graham's extreme maneuvers are limitless, and even the best materials can be worn out. All Yang Hui could do was extend the time before the frame breaks.

The main change to the Dawn Gundam is the wing-shaped Funnels on its back. All sixteen Funnels, along with their mounts, have been removed and replaced with two purple-gray wings. These wings contain four X-Rounder Launchers and numerous thrusters, which can assist the main thrusters in doubling the maximum speed during high-speed movement. They also help maintain the unit's balance and grant the Dawn Gundam the ability to fly within the atmosphere.

Speaking of the X-Rounder Launcher, Yang Hui is not an X-Rounder, but he is an Innovator, both being users of psychic energy. With the help of a psychic connection device, he can control the bits. Moreover, compared to the degraded X-Rounders, the evolved Innovators possess stronger and more stable psychic energy, allowing Yang Hui to simultaneously control the bits generated by four X-Rounder Launchers.

Among the many technological focuses, Yang Hui has spent the most time on the X-Rounder Launcher. While the power of the bits is formidable, their effective range is a significant limitation—it's too small!

For Yang Hui, who excels in mid-range, high-speed mobile shooting combat, this is a major drawback.

Therefore, Yang Hui spent a considerable amount of time enhancing and modifying it by combining all the technologies at his disposal. In the end, he only managed to double the effective range of the bits, but it still fell short.

"This is definitely weakening your combat power, Yang Hui. How about dismantling the [X-Rounder Launcher] and replacing it with funnels?" Flit suggested.

"There's no doubt it weakens me, but the current range of the bits is sufficient for my needs. After all, I'm not Yurin; I rarely engage in ultra-long-range sniping. Moreover, mastering the use of bits is essential—they are far superior to ordinary funnels. They have no physical form, can be generated infinitely, penetrate armor, and even bypass defensive fields… Once we've gathered enough technology, we can further enhance and modify them," Yang Hui explained to Flit.

"Alright, just don't push it too far. There's one more thing you should be aware of, Yang Hui. While the four [X-Rounder Launchers] can significantly boost the firepower of the Dawn Gundam, they consume an enormous amount of energy. With your combat style, you'd only last about 20 minutes in a large-scale battle."

"That's why…" As he spoke, Yang Hui switched the tech tree page to the energy section and clicked on the solitary GN Drive icon, "...this is my ultimate goal. Without a GN Drive, my capabilities are already halved."

"I'm not an Innovator, so I don't fully understand how GN Particles enhance you, but the GN Drive… Aeolia Schenberg is a damn monster!"

Every time they looked at the GN Drive's data, Flit, Madonna, and other technicians couldn't help but curse.

After arriving at the Prometheus Fortress, they learned about the world of Gundam 00. Logically, the technological development of the Gundam 00 world should lag behind that of Gundam AGE, even excluding the EXA-DB. The miniaturization of beam weapons, the establishment of space colonies, MS technology, warships—all of these were a step behind the Gundam AGE world.

But then… Aeolia Schenberg, that monster, appeared and single-handedly elevated the entire world's technological level.

The solar power generation system, the discovery of GN Particles, the GN Drive—which of these wasn't a groundbreaking achievement?

Especially the GN Drive and GN Particles—if one had to describe them in a single word, it would be "omnipotent"!

They counteract gravitational forces, provide semi-permanent energy, disrupt electronic devices, can be used for both offense and defense, assist Innovators in opening large-scale communication channels, exponentially increase output when multiple drives are synchronized, and even theoretically enable quantum leaps. It's as if they were created by God, with no flaws to be found.

Flit and the others once wondered, could such a person really exist? Wasn't this just some deity, bored out of their mind, descending to the mortal world to mock humanity?

"Well, I agree with your assessment. You'll have a chance to meet him someday, and you can curse him to his face then. Don't worry, he's just a pile of data now—he can't hit you."

"...Let's get back to the Dawn Gundam," Flit wisely shifted the topic, not intending to compare himself to a monster. "How do you plan to solve the energy issue?"

The Dawn Gundam and Yang Hui's greatest deterrent was their terrifying multi-layered firepower coverage, coupled with frightening precision. However, if they couldn't sustain prolonged combat, Yang Hui would have a fatal weakness, significantly reducing their deterrence.

"Let's see if the new world has a better energy system. For now, I'll just bring a couple of auxiliary energy pods to make do," Yang Hui said helplessly.

"That works. You're not Graham, after all. You rarely lose your cool in battle."

"Haha," Yang Hui chuckled, rolling his eyes. If Graham could hear this, that guy would probably get beaten up again.

"By the way, tomorrow is the day we set off. Are you all ready?" Yang Hui asked Flit.

"Yep, we've been waiting for this day."

Yang Hui noticed a hint of excitement in Flit's eyes and raised an eyebrow, advising, "You need to stay steady, Flit. Officially, Graham is the Captain, but I'm entrusting the entire team to you. Jehart has made a lot of progress, but he's still prone to impulsiveness. Only you can oversee the big picture and give the most accurate instructions. I don't expect you to achieve monumental results—missions are endless—but I want every one of you to come back safely."

"..." Flit suppressed his excitement and replied solemnly, "I understand. Leave it to me."

...

The next day, everyone gathered in the central hall to bid farewell to the twelve members embarking on the mission. There was envy, joy, and concern.

"Are you all ready?" Yang Hui asked the eleven participants.

"Yes," they all nodded.

"Mephis, let's begin."

[Selecting mission world... Gundam W, Gundam SEED.]

"These two worlds?" Yang Hui was momentarily surprised but quickly made a decision. "Graham, you'll go to the Gundam W world."

"Is there anything we need to be cautious about?" Flit asked.

"Gundams, OZ, the Masked Man, artificial intelligence, and most importantly, beware of the [Zero System]."

"Got it."

"Mephis, let's go."
