Fast forward to New Year's Eve, by this point me and Reese had been seeing each other for a little bit and made plans to see one another tonight before the ball dropped. I was nervous but also excited to have my first New Year's kiss ever. He told me that I was going to be his first New Year's kiss as well. I was just excited to spend even more time with him. The morning passed, I got up to go visit one of my friends because she had just gotten a new cat. The cat was adorable and I spent the majority of the afternoon at her place until finally in the evening I decided to go back to my house. Reese texted me and asked me when I wanted him over, I glanced at the clock which read five thirty. I told him "I want to clean my room a bit first, can you come over at 6?" he responded "Ok, see you a little bit" I then rushed around my room putting things away back where they go, tidying up, vacuuming, I was excited to get my first New Year's kiss ever I wanted my room clean and spotless. He walked in the house and came down the hall to my bedroom, "Hey pretty girl" he said while leaning down to kiss me. We settled in, watching various videos on our phones, talking, laughing, and playing to pass the time. I did his makeup, making his masculine features look softer, and glamorous. Then close to midnight we made our way to the living room, counting down the clock "5..4..3..2..1" we cheered ringing in the new year, Reese then embraced me and planted a soft kiss on my lips, my first new years kiss. I felt light on air, it was perfect. We mingled with my family for a little bit before eventually choosing to go to settle back down in my bedroom. We ended up talking and having a long drawn out conversation about our futures, our fears, what makes us ourselves until Reese shot up and turned to me blurting out "Kiara..I love you" I felt blood rush to my chest. I half expected to be met with tge usual gut wrenching, sinking feeling, but it never came. instead I felt light and responded "I love you too" knowing that for the first time I truly meant it.
