On his way back, the branch leader's phone kept on ringing.
The bosses of the mining companies are calling him. The police have gone and announced their suspension.
"I said, I will fucking handle it."
That is all the branch leader said. Or that is all he could say. Because the communication between him and the rest of the branches is completely cut off. He remembered Ayaan' words.
'As long as this bloody soldier is alive, the Black Dog security and every client that ever worked with you, will remain closed.'
"You fucking military dog. I will just unalive you then. You might have gotten lucky last night. But you will regret not dying."
He called two people back to back. First one is to one of the mining company bosses.
"I want you to continue with mining for another hour. But don't use your personnel. Use mine."
Then he called the DSP.
"Since that asshole is telling you to arrest people, go on and arrest. The XX mining company is still in operation. If you go there, the workers there will 'resist' you and you can arrest them with just cause.
Put them all in the police station.
Since your station is small, there should be no problem if you just shackle them and put them out of their cells for a while, until you arrange them to move to the nearest stations or find an alternative."
"S…"
"I don't have enough patience to hear you stutter. Just fucking do what I told you to. And swamp that bastard with all the documents that you can. Wait until evening and we will make our move."
"Okay."
He hung up the call and got ready.
Time passed.
January 5th 2025. 4:00 PM
The station is crowded.
Ayaan stood straight in the chair as he looked at the police move back and forth. The two jail cells they had are full, each holding ten people. But more people kept on coming. They are all cuffed and made to kneel in a corner.
It only stopped when two people occupied that corner.
A total of forty arrests in one day.
That's gotta be a record.
Ayaan looked at the DSP and said.
"You are really capable. You managed to arrest forty people with such a small team?"
"S.."
"Don't answer that. I can probably assume what you might say. Anyway, is it about time?"
"Sir?"
"Is it about time for you to come up with an excuse? That branch leader might have prepared one for you. Didn't he?"
*RING*
At that moment, the telephone rang. Ayaan picked it up before the DSP could reach it.
"Hello, honey. I met with an accident. I am being taken to hospital. Please come quickly."
A woman's distressed voice was heard from the other side. Ayaan gave the phone to the DSP, who nodded heavily and was about to say something.
"Just leave."
Ayaan said without even looking at him. The DSP left. Some constables were taken away with him. Some of them are stuck here though. They are all sweating and trembling, thinking what might happen.
In about twenty minutes…
*SCREECH*
Four cars halted in front of the station along with some motorbikes. The branch leader got off, wearing a black attire, and covering his face with a black mask. Around twenty people walked into the station. The constables exchanged a glance and without thinking, they charged at them.
These twenty people beatup these constables and threw them out of the station. They bolted the metal doors and locked it from inside.
Only Ayaan, 40 inmates and 20 newcomers are left inside. Ayaan stood there on the chair with one leg over the other. His face, as nonchalant as ever.
The branch leader removed the mask and stepped forward. He sat across from Ayaan and placed a club on the table.
"You should have died quietly. Even though you lucked out and lived, you should have gone into hiding, particularly when you know that Black Dog is after you.
A fucking soldier that plays by the rules, came knocking on our doors? And you even dared to mess with our work and banned our clients? You bastard, because of you we got blacklisted in multiple industries in one day.
We have to rebuild all of that reputation from scratch."
Ayaan just looked at him without saying anything.
"Now that you brought this to the stage, you have to die. But I am giving you the opportunity. Call whoever you can and make them retract the suspension on our clients. You might die painlessly. Otherwise… I will torture you so much that you will wish for death. You will crave it."
"Can you call for 36 more people?" Ayaan asked.
"What?"
"You have sixty here. Can you call for 36 more people? I need them for something."
"You think need thirty-six more people to bury you? Did your screw got loose or something?"
Ayaan shook his head and picked up his mobile. He texted someone and looked at the branch leader.
"Did you send the instructions?" The branch leader asked.
"Yeah, for the clean-up team."
The branch leader frowned in confusion. Ayaan looked at the cell and the cuffed inmates. They are no longer restricted. The cells are broken and the cuffs are removed.
*BAM*
He kicked the table. The table slid on the floor pushing the branch leader along and making him fall to the ground. Ayaan stood up and took out his combat knife.
He dodged an incoming club and stabbed the guy in his neck. Just one clean hit. The knife went deep and cut off the throat, squirting blood all over.

*BAM*
He blocked another attack. The club snapped into half. He stabbed the knife on the other party's shoulder and dragged it down, tearing his chest open, before kicking him in the abdomen.
*CRACK*
With an audible crack, the bones of the other party broke. He died while vomiting blood.
Ayaan didn't stop. Even though he was outnumbered and surrounded, he took the initiative. He didn't take backfoot and charged at him.
'Knee to the stomach'
'Stab to the left'
'Punch to the right'
'Duck. Weave'
'Dodge'
'Block. Stomp on the leg. Stab in the chest'
Every move was made with utmost precision. Every time he blocked it stunned the attackers. The clubs snapped in half, while the rods were bent in half. They all brought blunt weapons for some reason and they did little to damage him.

Unless Ayaan defended against them, none of them managed to survive for more than one move. Even a punch to the gut made them die on the spot, with the internal organs getting crushed. Ayaan got to see how much the rise in stats has improved his strength.
He quickly ran through fifteen people and he wasn't even breaking a sweat.
'Not fast enough'
So, Ayaan increased his speed.
All this while, the branch leader who fell on the ground saw this slaughter with his mouth wide open. Ayaan's way of killing appeared too brutal for him. He stabbed one guy in the eye, then slapped another so hard, his neck snapped. A punch to the chest made the chest cave in. A kick to the knee made the bone break and the broken shard poke out of the flesh.
Most brutal of all, he kicked someone on the head, the skull fractured completely, the bones poked out and the brain matter leaked along with blood.
He couldn't even imagine how hard the hits were landing.
The blood sprayed all over.
At the same time, the police who went out after putting up that little act looked at the slaughter through the windows. They almost swallowed their dry tongues in nervousness. At some point, they couldn't even see half his moves.
One of the senior officers called the DSP.
"Sir… it's not going the way it should. Tha.. that guy. He is killing everyone…."
*BANG*
All of a sudden a gunshot was heard. He dropped his phone. He picked it up and yelled.
"SIR. PLEASE COME FAST. TELL US WHAT WE SHOULD DO"
*BANG*
He didn't even check the reply when another gun shot came. He went back to the window to see what was happening.
Ayaan is holding a guy by his throat and that guy had two gunshot wounds on his back. Ayaan looked past him at the branch leader who held a gun with trembling hands.
By now, more than half the people have died and the other half are trembling in fear, standing as far away from Ayaan as possible.
Ayaan's gaze showed utter disdain towards the branch leader. Such close range. To think that someone would miss… twice.
*SWOOSH*
He threw the dead body at the branch leader.
The branch leader dodged and turned around.
He froze on the spot. Ayaan is standing in front of him. His face is one inch away from him. Ayaan's gaze locked into his eyes. He felt like he is staring death in its face.
*SNAP*
"ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHH…."
A blood-curdling scream escaped his mouth. He looked at his broken arm. Ayaan snapped his wrist like a twig and stole his gun.
*BANG* *BANG*
*BANG* *BANG*
He then emptied the magazine. Ten bullets, ten dead bodies, and ten Exp notifications.
There are only twenty people left.
The police officers outside understood that there was no way, Ayaan would die here. This fear consumed them. They didn't understand what to do.
*SCREECH*
At that moment, a vehicle stopped in front of the station. The Fat DSP came running and checked the scene inside.
Ayaan crushed a guy's throat, snapped another one's neck, stabbed the third guy's heart, and broke the fourth one's spine with a kick. All in one fluid motion.
The DSP's heart almost stopped for a moment. He knew what would happen if Ayaan came out alive.
They had essentially conspired with criminals to kill a Rear Admiral when he came here for investigation. Their original plan was to use the excessive arrests as an excuse and the miners of the town as a cover.
The forty miners joined hands with the twenty other miners and started a riot in the station. All the police officers are injured in defending the station and the Rear Admiral who fought bravely to stop the injustice unfortunately died.
That was the story they came up with.
Ayaan just came and flipped the script.
When Ayaan comes out of it the word gets out. All their careers and lives will be over. Police becoming prisoners… everyone knows how well that ends up.
"W… we need to kill him." The DSP resolved himself and ordered.
"Use your guns and shoot him down." Once he became decisive, his stuttering also stopped. He took out his pistol and aimed through the window.
When they saw the scene inside, they were stunned for a moment. Only Ayaan and the branch leader are remaining. The latter is kneeling on the ground while Ayaan stands in front of him, with a gun in his hands.
He smoothly changed the magazine as he looked at the windows on either side.
There are ten police officers outside. And all of them cannot shoot him through the windows at the same time. The window is only big enough to fit two people. Only four guns are aimed at him.
Four shots.
Ayaan appeared nonchalant as he grabbed the branch leader by the collar and all of a sudden dashed towards the metal door.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
They shot hurriedly but missed.
'Blindspot'
That is the only blind spot. The windows are on either side of the door, they cannot see or aim towards the door from there.
Maybe if they can react quick enough or if they are sure the bullets can get through the door, they might shoot. But they are not. They are not some warriors in action every day. Just by the size of their stomachs, Ayaan knew they didn't amount to much.
He also didn't give them the chance to think.
Before they could make sense of what happened, Ayaan picked up the two fire extinguishers on either side of the door.
He threw them towards the windows.
*BANG* *BOOM*
The police shot the extinguishers. They exploded and white smoke enveloped their visions.
*SWOOSH*
Before they knew it…
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
Ayaan came out of the entrance and started shooting on either side. The Branch leader saw as Ayaan dropped the police officers in an instant.
He is the only one left alive apart from Ayaan.
Ayaan checked the police and then walked back in. He sat on a table and made the branch leader kneel in front of him.
He asked while wiping the blood off.
"I have a few questions for you.
First. Do you have any more men in the city that you can call for?"
The branch leader shook his head.
"Second, who gave you the mission to kill me?"
The branch leader trembled. He expected this question and he was contemplating whether he should answer or not. He is hesitant.
Ayaan didn't say anything, he looked at the clock.
*TICK* *TICK* *TICK*
The clock ticked away and exactly thirty seconds later, he held one of the branch leader's fingers and… pulled.
*CRACK*
With his increased strength, the finger smoothly left its joint and even the flesh near the joint tore open.
*ARRGGHHH…."
Ayaan didn't repeat his question either. He just looked at the clock, but this time held the second finger.
