"Serenity......"
"Call a doctor, quick! Something's wrong with Serenity."
Fintan shoved Seraphina off him in one swift motion.
Seraphina, knocked to the ground, glared at me with pure hatred.
Doctors and nurses burst through the door, rushing me into the ER.
Fintan was in a state of absolute panic.
The ER light stayed on for what felt like an eternity. He was so tense, his heart nearly stopped, his entire body quivering.
"Mrs. Gerald is awake!"
Upon hearing I had regained consciousness, Fintan broke down in tears of joy.
He knelt by my bedside, his face awash with tears, pleading incessantly.
"Serenity, my Serenity. You're finally back. I was about to lose my mind if you didn't wake up."
Fintan held me tight, his tears trickling down my neck.
I was like his long-lost treasure. Fintan didn't dare let go, terrified that if he loosened his grip, I'd slip back into that endless slumber.
"Serenity, I can't lose you again. It would drive me insane."
