Chapter 8

Sakura finally believed what my brother had said - I no longer loved her at all.

She slumped to the ground, her eyes hollow and lifeless, radiating a silent despair.

"It can't be... Jaxon, you said you'd love me forever..."

Sakura refused to give up, following me everywhere every day.

When I was tutoring at other people's homes, she'd wait outside.

After I returned home, she'd wait downstairs outside my house.

The next morning when I opened the door, I looked at that "snowman" in the yard without a flicker of emotion, feeling only annoyance and irritation.

Snow had piled up on Sakura, and she was shivering from the cold.

"Jaxon, I got my period... My stomach hurts so bad."

"Could you make me some hot soup?"

Her face was pale, with glistening tears clinging to the corners of her eyes, looking utterly pitiful.

In the past when she had her period, I would drop everything to stay by her side.

No matter how moody she got, I'd patiently comfort her.
