Lost In Thought

A young boy who had both his hands dipped into both sides of his pocket walked alone on a quiet street with only few people on it. This person was Emmanuel who had already gone a separate way from Rebecca.

He walked unhurriedly on the street while looking at the night sky. He was currenting having flashbacks on the happenings of the day. This was something he frequently did whenever he and Rebecca went their separate ways, so as to keep himself occupied while hiking the remaining short distance to his house.

Numerous scenes flashed through his heads as he walked. Scenes like the drama between him and Mr David. He even thought about some of his interaction with is customers today. He was trying to identify if he had made any mistake or errors so that he could correct himself and make sure to try to not repeat the action again.

He also thought about Rebecca and the chat they had before they divided. He didn't know whether to shake his head or admire her. But then h really felt happy for her. Like, at least she knows what she wants. ' Unlike someone ' he thought inwardly.

This someone he referred to was obviously himself, and his reason for saying that was very simple. He simply wasn't sure he knew exactly what he wanted. A person normally, is supposed to have like one or two future aspirations or ambitions. Emmanuel didn't know whether to call it selfishness or greed, but he actually had a lot of ambitions.

He had a lot of things he wished to do and become in the future, and he felt some of them clashed with each other. He has a prophecy which also means a destiny to fulfil, and he actually does like spreading the gospel and so this was a destiny he was more than willing to accept.

But, even with his love for spreading the gospel, he had other wishes. One of the ambitions was to become a musician. He wished to make music. If it were only gospel songs, he wouldn't be that worried. The problem was that he also planned on singing love and motivational songs, and for the present generation, most song that do during this generation that are not all that morally decent.

This was exactly Emmanuel's problem. For someone who walks a path of sharing the gospel, how can he then be seen as or associated with people with low moral standards.

And then for his third most significant wish. It was actually a wish numerous people had, but only a pitiful few could be said to have even started to talk of achieve as this particular objective of his seemed like more of a fantasy than a reality. It was to travel around the world. He wanted to go to or through every spot in this world and see it all. He felt that if life was one, and there was no reincarnation, then does it mean one would never get to see a lot of places in the world. if so, then what was even the use of coming into it at all.

Soon he got to the front of an ash coloured gate, this was his home. He threw all the thoughts behind his head, not wanting his parent to see him in that state as it would just make them worry unnecessarily.

He went into the state. Behind the gate was two tall building, though one was taller than the other. These were storey buildings, and the one with the taller structure was a three storey building while the shorter one was a two storey.

Emmanuel walked towards the three storey building. As soon as he got to it, he walked straight to an ash coloured metal door and bumped it open. As soon as it opened, a long staircase with numerous stairs was reviewed. Climbing the staircase could be very tiring as they were really long, and so if you climbed it normally, you might spend up to thirty seconds on it.

That might seem as a short time, but then considering the height of each stairs, the thirty seconds might seem more like an hour to the human brain. Not wanting to go through that, he did what he always did whenever he wanted to climb it. He simply started running upstairs. This was his solution to it as he felt it was better to feel that short moment of utmost exhaustion after climbing the stairs than to suffer the torture climbing step by step.

It wasn't long before he ran through the stairs and then reached it's peak. At it peak, there were two doors opposite each other. One was black and one was yellow, with the black one being at the left, and the yellow, right.

He knocked on the door. Not up to a minute after he knocked, the door was unlocked from the inside and so it slid open. As the door slid open, A stunning but aged dark beauty, dressed in a lovely but descent dress was revealed. This was Emmanuel's mom.

" Your home, come in " She said with a loving smile. As soon as Emmanuel's eyes set on his mom, a lovely and meek smile was birthed on his face. This was one of the two people that supplied him with joy even in the worst of situations.

" Good evening mom " He said as he came in and gave her a heart warming hug. Before he could say anything more, he was interrupted " Come and have your meal before its get cold so that you could go and shower before taking a rest, I know today must have been very stressful for you. "

Emmanuel just nodded and did as he was told. He had a delicious meal which was made by her. The meal was a tribal signature meal of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria. It was called Akpu and Onubu soup.

As soon as he finished his meal, he had a little chat with his mom. During the chat he asked about his dad, even though it was very obvious that he was not back and expected he got the answer he already knew.

Not wanting to think to much about it, He went ahead to take his bathe and then went straight to bed. The reason he refused to think about his dad as it would only make him start thinking of all the problems of his lives. He knew the only reason his dad wasn't back by this time was a person, him, Emmanuel. He felt too lucky to have them as parent.
