Fear gripped Emmanuel's body, he felt like he was exchanging gaze with death, and if he moved or tried to perform any ulterior action, he might really meet his end right now. He was lost for a while before a courage to act developed from nowhere. He overcame the fear and got hold of himself. He looked around to see what he could do when he suddenly notice his hands was still on the door. He looked at the shadow and smiled, and then with a " Bang " sound, he shut close the door.
With the door close, relieve washed through his body. He felt a sense of safety, and so was very happy. He decided to cancel his plans of going downstairs, and choose to stay in his room instead. Just as he turned back to enter his room, shock and fear invaded his entire being. Right at his front was the shadow, standing right there with a sort of grin shape expression on his face.
" How come " He muttered in a low voice. It was just outside now and Emmanuel slammed the door at him. But here it was now, inside his own home. Emmanuel soon got grip of himself. He remembered he had yet to lock the door with keys which meant that he could just draw it open. He immediately drew it open and ran out, but then it all seemed to be far from over as the moment he took a few step outside, he saw a short man. Almost as short as a dwarf. The man had an unfamiliar face which meant that he didn't know him from anywhere. He didn't know why, but for some reason the feeling of dread this short man gave him was no lesser than the one he got from the shadow. He turned back only to see the shadow right at the front of his door waiting for him, he was centered. At his front was the short man, and behind him was the shadow.
Just when he felt like it was all over for him, an idea came. He wanted to go against one of them. He had a feeling that it would work, but he felt that he had to think well. He felt he had to put everything into consideration as he felt that if he didn't, it might really be all over.
After careful consideration, he finally made a decision. He was going to go against the short man as he felt that he was more likely to escape if it did. His plan was to run directly through him if he could, and then run downstairs. He didn't know why but he felt he definitely could.
' I guess it's you then ' he thought before then rushing forward. Once he came in close contact with the short man, he shut his eyes closed and shouted " The Blood of Jesus ". That was his bet. Even though he had the feeling that it would work, it still came as a surprise to him that it actually did work. He could already feel the stairs beneath his feet which meant that he had passed the man. And indeed, as he opened his eyes, it was so.
" Thank you Lord ", he muttered as he ran downstairs. Whenever he felt that there was something on his way, he would shout " The Blood of Jesus ". He continued with this until he finally reached downstairs. As soon as he got off the staircase, he didn't immediately run towards the gate. He instead scanned the compound. He looked around for a short while before noticing a figure at one side of the compound. It was the figure of a man, and he seemed to be checking the boot of his car for something. Looking well at the man's figure, he found out that the figure of the man looked like someone he knew.
He immediately ran towards him without much thought. The man looked like a fellow tenant which he knew in the compound. He ran towards the man, and soon got extremely close to him when suddenly, the man's head detached from his head. The man's head fell of from his neck, and just as it was about to hit the ground, wings sprouted out of it's sides. Flapping It's wings the bat-like creature flew to the height of Emmanuel and then came after him.
Seeing this, Emmanuel immediately took a U-turn. He started running towards the gate, that was his last hope at the moment. He go closer and closer, and with every distance he covered, he felt he was close to being safe and free, when suddenly the shadow and the short man came in through the gate and blocked it. He was once again cornered. The two who in came from the gate locked the gate. The only place that was open was the staircase. And so Emmanuel was about to run towards it, when the staircase suddenly disappeared, yes it disappeared leaving behind only an empty wall.
' It's over ' Emmanuel thought inwardly. he was at a complete loss of what to do. The bat seemed to be flying towards him in a slow pace, no longer worried that he would escape. They crouched closer and closer to him, and with every seconds they did that, Emmanuel felt that he was undergoing hours of torture. Torture in a sense that the fear in his body had reached a point that his brain had completely and his heart was aching seriously. He felt that every step they took brought him a step closer to death. Then he remembered what happened on the stairs, where he ran through the short man. He decided to try it again. He thought of which side to try it on, the short man and the shadow duo or the bat behind him.
After very short while of thought, he picked the duo as he could then directly run out of the compound through the gate. He was just about to run when he then found out something, he couldn't move. Some sort of force seemed to have held him in place. He was currently stubbornly struggling to move when all of a sudden a form of light appeared right above him.
