Chapter 127 — Is our bet still valid?

At the banquet, a group of women led by Serena's mother Saki kept bringing out plate after plate of delicious food from the kitchen, serving their benefactors led by Sun Wuming.

While feasting, Sun Wuming glanced at Saki and suddenly realized something—

It seemed like none of the main characters in the original story had fathers.

This wasn't Sun Wuming trying to be rude, but just something he noticed when thinking about it.

Whether it was Ash as the protagonist from Kanto, Dawn from Sinnoh, or Serena from Kalos.

It seemed like they all had mothers but no fathers.

In the original story, May's father Norman seemed to be the only protagonist's father who actually appeared.

"Huh? You want me to take the Elite Four position?"

A surprised exclamation rang out.

Sun Wuming looked up to see Serena surrounded by Diantha and the Elite Four members Siebold, Wikstrom, and Drasna, her face showing disbelief.

Diantha nodded solemnly, "Yes, Serena, I believe you have what it takes."

Due to what happened with Malva, there was now an empty position in the Elite Four.

Currently, none of the eight Kalos Gym Leaders had Elite Four level strength.

And Serena was undoubtedly the most suitable candidate.

"Wow! Serena, you're going to be an Elite Four member?"

A petite girl who was slightly less pretty than Serena but still very cute rushed over excitedly.

Her name was Shauna, one of Serena's childhood friends and another survivor of the petrification incident.

"Serena! We support you!"

"You could even become Champion, not just an Elite Four member!"

Other townspeople gathered around, offering their congratulations to Serena.

However, faced with Diantha's earnest invitation, Serena didn't hesitate much before shaking her head in refusal:

"I'm sorry, Miss Diantha, but I don't want to take any position right now. I want to travel with Master Wuming and the others."

Upon hearing this, Serena's friends all showed looks of disbelief.

She refused?

Serena actually refused?

That was an Elite Four position, and an invitation from Champion Diantha, the idol of all Kalos!

Saki also gaped in surprise but didn't say anything.

She knew her daughter had grown up and had her own ideas now.

Saki couldn't help but secretly glance at Sun Wuming - so this was Serena's teacher?

He seemed very young, and according to Champion Diantha he was very strong, but...

Saki noticed Marie feeding sweets to the imprisoned Hoopa at Sun Wuming's side, and the still somewhat nervous Lillie, and couldn't help but worry about her daughter's future.

"Is he really reliable..." Saki thought with some embarrassment.

This young teacher seemed to be surrounded by cute young girls.

He didn't look very serious at all.

...

...

The townspeople partied until late at night before returning to their homes.

"That damn Sun Wuming, always ruining my plans..."

Having had too much to drink, Diantha, who was staying at Serena's house, couldn't help but mutter to herself while going to the bathroom.

If it wasn't for that guy Sun Wuming, Serena would definitely have agreed to take Malva's position.

That big jerk, always making things difficult for her.

"Hmm?"

While passing through the hallway, Diantha suddenly noticed something.

In the bright moonlight outside the window, Sun Wuming released Diancie from its Poké Ball.

After exchanging a few words, Sun Wuming recalled Diancie and turned to walk toward the edge of town.

He seemed to be going somewhere.

Diantha didn't know what came over her, but she instinctively ran after him.

"Where are you going?"

Hearing the voice behind him, Sun Wuming, who was about to use Sky Dance, paused his steps.

Turning around, Sun Wuming said casually:

"The Diamond Domain. Want to come along?"

"Ah?"

Diantha tilted her head in confusion.

...

...

Ten minutes later, while flying with Sky Dance.

Diantha had her arms wrapped around Sun Wuming's neck from behind, looking down.

A vast, dense primeval forest came into view.

Diancie's voice echoed in Sun Wuming and Diantha's ears:

[Wuming, this is the place]

Upon hearing this, Sun Wuming reached back with one hand and, causing Diantha to blush slightly, supported one of her pale legs as they slowly descended.

The Diamond Domain was, simply put, an underground mine where the Carbink tribe had lived since ancient times.

This kingdom had survived for generations through its princess Diancie providing energy to the mine.

...

...

Led by Diancie, Sun Wuming and Diantha walked through an underground world filled with glittering minerals.

This was the Diamond Domain.

[Everyone, I'm back~]

Diancie called out with her hands cupped around her mouth.

Soon, at least hundreds of Carbink came bouncing out from deep within the cave.

Upon seeing Diancie, the Carbink's eyes crinkled into happy lines as they jumped and called out in voices that Sun Wuming and Diantha couldn't understand.

Though they couldn't understand the words, they could guess what the Carbink meant.

Things like "Welcome back, Princess," "Did you meet Lord Xerneas?" and "Princess, we missed you so much."

The larger Carbink at the front with thick beards, who were likely ministers, watched Sun Wuming and Diantha with cautious eyes.

After all, no humans had ever visited this place before.

[Everyone, please listen to me. I have received power from Xerneas, and from now on I will continue my duty to protect you all]

When Diancie said this, the Carbink erupted in joy, but then their princess continued:

[Though it may be selfish, I hope you will come with me to live in another region. I want to establish a new kingdom there with all of you]

These words caused an uproar among all the Carbink.

Diancie patiently explained to the Carbink that she hoped they would go with her to a region called "Galar" to live.

She could use the power she received from Xerneas to create a new kingdom.

And it would be safer there too.

They would even have the legendary Shield King Zamazenta to protect them.

"This was your idea, wasn't it?"

Listening to Diancie's explanation, Diantha shot Sun Wuming a look.

Sun Wuming didn't answer, but the smug smile on his face said enough.

Like Latias who was responsible for protecting Alto Mare, Diancie, who had the duty of protecting her tribe, normally wouldn't be caught by human trainers.

Because they all had their own responsibilities.

The same was true for the Sword and Shield kings, Zacian and Zamazenta.

If Sun Wuming hadn't helped them recover their weapons and had Zamazenta stay to guard Galar,

Zacian would likely never have gone with Sun Wuming.

Similarly, if the Carbink tribe's situation wasn't resolved,

Diancie could never truly become Sun Wuming's Pokémon.

So Sun Wuming came up with a radical solution.

If Diancie's biggest concern was her tribe, why not just move them all?

The Slumbering Weald, Zacian and Zamazenta's old territory, was empty anyway, so why not establish a new Diamond Domain there?

Plus with Zamazenta guarding it, who would dare cause trouble?

At this moment, Zamazenta, sleeping soundly at Sonia's house, mentally complained "WTF, so I've become a guard dog now?"

After much persuasion from Diancie, the Carbink finally agreed collectively.

This brought great relief to Diancie.

These past few months traveling with Sun Wuming and the others had become her most precious memories since birth.

If possible, she really didn't want to leave them.

"But with so many Carbink, how do you plan to move them to Galar?"

Diantha thought of another issue.

This many would need two or three chartered planes, right?

"Have you forgotten about my new partner?"

At some point, a Poké Ball was spinning rapidly like a basketball on Sun Wuming's fingertip.

With a "pop" the ball opened, and the released Hoopa's demon-like appearance sent the Carbink scurrying deep into the cave.

[Everyone, don't be afraid, this is our friend]

Diancie hurriedly reassured them.

"Seeing your face, normal Pokémon would naturally be scared."

Sun Wuming wasn't surprised by this reaction.

Hoopa's face darkened.

...

...

To transport so many Carbink from Kalos to somewhere as far as Galar in one go,

They naturally needed someone to receive them on the other end.

Sun Wuming immediately called Sonia.

Far away in Galar, Sonia brought Zamazenta and Yamper, her two dog Pokémon, to the Slumbering Weald and found Hoopa's space ring.

"Wuming, I found it,"

Sonia waved at the phone camera.

"Sorry Sonia, for bothering you so late."

Sun Wuming's hologram head scratched the back of his head.

Sonia pouted:

"If you're really sorry, how about stop getting involved with so many young girls?"

"Eh?"

Sun Wuming looked embarrassed.

How did she know?

"Pfft!"

Sonia couldn't help but laugh, both annoyed and amused:

"Haha, I was just saying that, but I actually guessed right?"

Sun Wuming's mouth twitched. Well played, so she was just fishing for information.

"Just you wait, see how I deal with you when I get back tomorrow."

Sun Wuming threatened menacingly.

Sonia's face reddened, immediately understanding what Sun Wuming meant by "deal with."

Remembering how last time felt like her stomach was almost pierced through,

She felt both anticipation and fear.

Soon after, masses of Carbink emerged from the other side of the ring, instantly covering the ground around Sonia's boots.

"There's so many?"

Sonia exclaimed.

[Um... are you Miss Sonia?]

At this moment, a sweet young girl's voice reached Sonia's ears.

Looking up, she saw Diancie with her hands clasped at the edge of her skirt, bowing to her:

[I-I am Wuming's Pokémon Diancie, please take care of me from now on]

"Ah... you're too kind, I should be the one asking for your care."

Sonia was also stunned for a moment by Diancie's beauty, never expecting a Pokémon could be so beautiful.

Sonia couldn't help but curse Sun Wuming that dog of a man in her heart.

Not only did he take cute disciples, even the Pokémon he caught had to be beautiful.

At this moment, Sun Wuming's voice came through the phone again:

"I'll leave Diancie in your care then, bye baby~"

...

...

In the now empty Diamond Domain, Sun Wuming recalled the released Hoopa into its Poké Ball and turned to Diantha:

"Let's head back."

Diantha bit her lip and suddenly asked:

"Is our bet still valid?"
