Chapter 4 – An Intriguing Curiosity
It was a quiet morning at Gisele Bündchen's house. After dropping Benjamin and Vivian off at school, she settled into her couch with a cup of green tea. The image of Ricardo, her children's new jiu-jitsu instructor, was still fresh in her mind. He was unlike any instructor she had ever met: a man who balanced charisma, seriousness, and unquestionable skill in what he did.
However, there was something else that piqued her curiosity. Who was Ricardo, after all? He seemed to have a past full of stories, but he wasn't the kind of person who talked much about himself.
Gisele grabbed her laptop and typed in the browser: "Ricardo Iron Will, Indian Creek jiu-jitsu instructor". The results appeared quickly, and she started clicking on some links.
The first was the website of the Iron Will academy, which Ricardo had founded. There, she found a brief biography:
"Ricardo Almeida – Founder of Iron Will. Black Belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, with over 20 years of experience. Former member of the Amphibious Commandos of the Brazilian Marine Corps, certified shooting instructor and world-class competitor. Winner of several championships and recognized as one of the greatest legends of jiu-jitsu with kimono. Former student of the renowned Gracie family, with whom he maintains a close relationship to this day."
Gisele's eyes widened as she read the words. Amphibious Commandos? She knew it was one of the most demanding elite troops in the world. It was rare for someone to go through that, and yet he seemed to carry that baggage with humility.
"Wow... so he's not just any teacher," she muttered to herself, curious to know more.
Gisele continued browsing. She found articles and videos of competitions he had won. In one clip, Ricardo was on the podium of a jiu-jitsu world championship, holding a gold medal while the audience gave him a standing ovation.
Another video caught her attention. It was an interview with Renzo Gracie, who spoke about Ricardo:
"Ricardo is not only one of the best fighters I have ever trained, he is one of the best human beings I have ever met. When he arrived on our mat, he already had this disciplined mentality of the Amphibious Commandos, but what made him stand out was his passion for the sport and his desire to learn. Today, he is not just a friend, he is part of the Gracie family."
She watched the video until the end, fascinated.
As she continued exploring, Gisele found photos of Ricardo with several celebrities. There he was at an event alongside Demi Lovato, apparently during a jiu-jitsu class. In another image, he was with actor Jason Momoa at a shooting range, both smiling for the camera.
"He really knows a lot of famous people," Gisele thought, impressed.
However, what caught her attention the most was Ricardo's simplicity in all the photos. No matter who was next to him, he always seemed focused, genuine, not trying to draw attention to himself.
Later, Gisele found an extensive article about Ricardo's friendship with the Gracie family. The article described how he had started training with them when he was still young and how he had stood out for his dedication and natural talent.
There was even a quote from Kyra Gracie:
"Ricardo is a brother to us. He not only represents the best of jiu-jitsu, but he also lives the values that my grandfather, Hélio, always preached: humility, respect and discipline. It's impossible not to like him."
Reading it, Gisele began to understand why her children had liked Ricardo so much. He was not only skilled, but he seemed to truly live what he taught.
Closing her laptop, Gisele leaned back on the couch. The research had answered many of her questions, but it had also awakened something more. Ricardo was not only interesting for his skills and achievements. He had a rich and deep history that made him a unique person.
"He is so different from anyone I have ever met," she thought.
Living in the world of fashion and entertainment, Gisele was used to dealing with people who were often superficial or self-centered. Ricardo seemed the opposite of that.
That night, Gisele was having dinner with Benjamin and Vivian. While they ate, she decided to share what she had discovered.
"Do you know what I found out about your teacher today?"
Vivian looked curious. "What, Mom?"
"He was in the Brazilian Amphibious Commandos, an elite troop. He's like a real-life superhero."
Benjamin's eyes widened. "Really? That explains why he looks so strong!"
"And he's one of the best in the world at jiu-jitsu. He's won several major championships," Gisele continued.
Vivian smiled. "I knew he was special! He's so cool. When's the next class again?"
Gisele laughed. "Don't worry, there's still a few days. But it looks like you guys have chosen a teacher who's great."
As she put her children to bed later, Gisele couldn't stop thinking about Ricardo. There was something about him that sparked her curiosity in a way she hadn't felt in a long time.
"Maybe it's time to get to know him better," she thought to herself. After all, a man with such a rich history and such a captivating personality was certainly worth discovering in more depth.
Chapter 5 – Training Gal Gadot
Ricardo was adjusting his weapons at the Iron Will shooting range, preparing for another class. The space, located next to his main gym in Indian Creek, was one of the best in Florida, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and extremely safe. He glanced at his watch, waiting for his next student.
When the range door opened, a tall, elegant figure entered. It was Gal Gadot, world famous as Wonder Woman. She wore a discreet cap and sunglasses, but her confident posture was unmistakable.
"Ricardo?" she asked with a slight Israeli accent.
"Yes, it's me. Welcome, Gal," he replied with a warm smile, shaking her hand.
"Thank you. I've been looking forward to this class. It's always good to train with the best," she said, surveying the well-set-up range.
Ricardo began with a quick introduction to safety and handling techniques. Even though he knew Gal had experience with weapons, he didn't leave anything to chance.
"I know you've trained a lot for your movies and in the Israeli army, but we're going to tweak a few things. Little details make a big difference," he explained, picking up a pistol and demonstrating a firm stance.
Gal watched intently, absorbing every tip. She had always enjoyed learning and respected experts like Ricardo.
"Let's start with something simple," he said, handing her the pistol. "Target at ten meters. Focus on your breathing and trigger control."
Gal took up her position and fired the first few shots. Her performance was good, but Ricardo adjusted small details, moving her hands slightly.
"If you hold it like this, you'll have more control. Try again," he said, with the patience characteristic of a dedicated instructor.
This time, Gal's shots were accurate, almost all in the center of the target.
"Excellent! It feels like I'm training a real Wonder Woman," he joked, eliciting a laugh from Gal.
"I try to live the role," she replied, smiling.
Conversation During Training
As the class progressed, Gal asked questions about Ricardo.
"I heard you're also a master of jiu-jitsu. Is it true you trained with the Gracie family?"
Ricardo nodded. "Yes, I started with them years ago, in Brazil. It was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. Today, I teach what I learned here in Florida."
"That's amazing. In my training for the films, I did a lot of Krav Maga, but I've always been curious about jiu-jitsu. It's very different, isn't it?"
"Completely. Krav Maga is more focused on self-defense, while jiu-jitsu is an art that combines technique, patience and control. But both have their merits," he explained.
Gal thought for a moment. "Do you think you could give me a lesson? I'm here in Florida for a few days and I'd love to learn."
Ricardo smiled. "Sure. We can start today if you want."
"Perfect. But don't go easy on me," she said, a twinkle in her eye.
After shooting practice, Ricardo took Gal to the gym next door. She was impressed by the space and the welcoming atmosphere.
"Wow, this place is incredible. You can feel the energy here," she said as she walked onto the mat.
Ricardo handed her a white kimono. "Let's start from scratch. The first step is to familiarize yourself with the basic positions."
Gal put on the kimono and tied her hair back in a ponytail. Even in the simple uniform, she exuded elegance and confidence.
Ricardo started with the fundamentals: how to fall, roll, and stabilize positions. Although she was a beginner in jiu-jitsu, Gal's experience with Krav Maga helped her pick up the moves quickly.
"You learn fast," he commented as he adjusted his hand positions during a guard drill.
"Well, I'm trying to keep up with the best teacher," she replied with a playful smile.
As the class progressed, Ricardo introduced some more complex techniques, such as escapes and simple submissions. He demonstrated an armbar and asked Gal to try to replicate it.
"Now, remember, it's more about leverage than strength. Use your hips to create the right angle," he explained as he watched.
Gal tried a few times before she got it right. When she did, she raised her arms in celebration. "I did it! I think that gives me more points as Wonder Woman."
Ricardo laughed. "Absolutely. And if you keep this up, I'll have to call you a blue belt soon."
After almost two hours of training, the two were sitting on the mat, taking deep breaths and drinking water.
"You really love this, don't you?" Gal asked.
"Yes, it's more than an art or a sport to me. Jiu-jitsu gave me discipline, purpose, and a family. It was one of the things that kept me going during the hardest times in my life," he replied, staring into space for a moment.
Gal could hear the sincerity in his words and felt even more respect for him.
"I know what you mean. Physical training, be it fighting, weapons or even dance, has a way of connecting us to something greater," she said thoughtfully.
Ricardo nodded. "Exactly. It's not just the body. It's the mind and spirit too."
When they were done, Gal thanked him with a genuine smile.
"Ricardo, this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Thank you for your patience and for sharing your passion."
"It was my pleasure. You have so much potential, Gal. If you ever decide to return to the mat, you know where to find me," he replied, extending his hand to her.
"You can bet I'll be back. And next time, I'll challenge you to a real roll," she joked as she shook his hand.
Ricardo laughed. "I'll be waiting."
As she walked out of the gym, Ricardo watched her for a few seconds. Training Gal Gadot had been a unique experience, but more than that, he felt like he had met someone with whom he shared a deep understanding of dedication and purpose.
And for Gal, the experience wasn't just about learning something new. She left with a renewed appreciation for the world of jiu-jitsu—and, of course, for the man who represented it so well.
Chapter 6 – The Brazilian Media Discovers Ricardo
The morning at Iron Will headquarters began like any other. Ricardo was adjusting the mats and organizing the class schedule, while greeting students and employees. But, on the other side of the continent, in Brazil, the story took an unexpected turn.
The Brazilian media, always attentive to the lives of celebrities, woke up to a piece of news. A photo published by a paparazzi showed Gisele Bündchen leaving the jiu-jitsu academy with her children, Benjamin and Vivian, accompanied by Ricardo.
The image captured a relaxed moment: Vivian smiling while holding the kimono, Benjamin commenting on something to Ricardo, and Gisele watching with a serene smile.
The main portals soon highlighted the news:
"Gisele Bündchen's children are training jiu-jitsu with one of the greatest names in the gentle art!"
In the article, the journalists detailed Ricardo's profile: former Amphibious Commandos, close friend of the Gracie family and world champion recognized as the GOAT of jiu-jitsu with kimono. The headline went viral, with internet users commenting on the curious connection between the Brazilian supermodel and the renowned teacher.
On Brazilian entertainment programs, the subject dominated the news of the day.
On Mais Você, Ana Maria Braga commented:
"Guys, did you see this? Gisele Bündchen, who is living in the United States, sent her children to train jiu-jitsu with a super famous Brazilian teacher. And he is not only good on the mat, but he was also a soldier! Look how cool."
On Encontro com Patrícia Poeta, a jiu-jitsu expert was invited to explain the impact of the news:
"Ricardo is a true legend in the world of jiu-jitsu. He represents the best of Brazilian martial arts. Seeing Gisele's kids training with him is great publicity for the sport."
On Fofocalizando, the tone was more relaxed:
"Gisele knows how to choose, huh? And look, guys, Professor Ricardo is a hottie! Just imagine the number of mothers wanting to enroll their kids in classes now."
On Instagram and Twitter, the comments varied between admiration and curiosity.
@AmandaFitness: "I knew jiu-jitsu was incredible, but now it's official. I want to train with Ricardo too!"
@LucasBJJfan: "Ricardo deserves all this recognition. He's a monster on the mat. And now he's the teacher of Gisele's kids? What a shame!"
@FofoqueiraDoMomento: "I wonder if something is going on between Ricardo and Gisele? Because he's really hot, right?"
The gossip profiles fueled the speculation even more. Photo montages of Gisele and Ricardo side by side began to circulate. Soon, Iron Will's Instagram followers doubled.
At the gym, Ricardo was warned about the repercussion when his assistant, Felipe, entered the room laughing.
"Dude, you're on G1! Portals all over Brazil are talking about you."
Ricardo looked confused. "Talking about me? Why?"
Felipe opened his cell phone and showed the article. Ricardo read it in silence, letting out a slight sigh when he finished.
"That's crazy. This will end up taking the focus away from what matters: the children's training," he commented, running his hand through his head.
"You know how the media is, right? But honestly, this could be good for the gym. It's free publicity," said Felipe, trying to cheer him up.
Later, when Gisele arrived at the gym to drop off Benjamin and Vivian, Ricardo took the opportunity to talk about the subject.
"Gisele, can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked, approaching as his children prepared for class.
"Sure, Ricardo. Did something happen?"
"Yes... there was an article in Brazil about the kids training here. It seems the media found out who I am and now they're creating all kinds of stories. I wanted to make sure it didn't bother you."
Gisele laughed lightly. "Oh, Ricardo, you worry too much. That's normal in my life. The Brazilian media always finds a way to turn anything into news. As long as my kids are happy training here, I don't see a problem."
"Okay, but I want you to know that if this becomes a problem for you, I can help manage the situation," he said, showing his genuine concern.
"I appreciate it, but it's okay. Just don't be surprised if the number of students increases in the next few weeks," she replied with a smile.
On the same day, a Brazilian portal contacted Ricardo, asking for an interview. Reluctant at first, he eventually agreed, with the goal of highlighting the sport and not his relationship with Gisele or the children.
In the interview, Ricardo spoke about his passion for jiu-jitsu and the importance of teaching the next generation.
"My focus has always been to share what I have learned from jiu-jitsu. It is an honor to have students like Benjamin and Vivian, who are just beginning to discover what this martial art can offer. And, of course, the support of someone like Gisele helps bring more visibility to the sport."
When asked about his relationship with the model, he was direct:
"We are just teacher and student. What matters here is the children's progress and the positive impact that jiu-jitsu has on their lives."
Meanwhile, Benjamin and Vivian continued training enthusiastically. Ricardo maintained the same attention and patience as always, focusing on the fundamentals and encouraging them to improve.
After the class, Benjamin commented: "Mom, did you know that Professor Ricardo was on TV today? Everyone is talking about him!"
Vivian added: "That's because he's the best. And he's funny too."
Gisele laughed. "It seems like you have a special teacher. Enjoy this, but remember that the most important thing is to learn and have fun."
In the following days, the repercussion did not diminish. Ricardo received messages from former students, friends from his time in the Amphibious Commandos, and even famous people who wanted to take classes with him.
Despite the whirlwind of attention, Ricardo remained focused. For him, what really mattered was the work on the mat and the opportunity to teach.
Still, he couldn't help but notice how the presence of Gisele and her children had changed his routine. More than just students, they became an unexpected connection to Brazil, his homeland, and perhaps something more was to come.
But for now, Ricardo preferred to keep his feet on the ground, letting destiny take its course while he continued to forge his path on the mat.
