Training Notes: Seon can use a weighted vest during his training for extra resistance to simulate the stress of combat. It's important for Seon to stay focused on form and technique to avoid injury. The system's shadow clone helps him by acting as a sparring partner for combat drills. Rest days are essential for recovery, so he'll need to take 1-2 days off each week to avoid overtraining.
Reward: strength (+15), agility(+20), endurance (+15)and perception(+17).
Time Limit:14 days
---------------------------------------------
He'd isolated himself in the training facility, shutting out all distractions after he received the quest. He didn't want anyone seeing him with the system's shadow clone duelling with him. It was now the third day and he had some what passed out twice but he did it either way. This was his mission, and he had to succeed—no matter the cost.
The dim lights above flickered slightly, casting long shadows on the walls. In the centre of the room was a sparring mat, marked with faint outlines of previous duels. The air smelled of sweat and metal, the remnants of countless fights and training sessions. Today would be no different.
Seon raised his hand, activating the system.
A familiar hum filled the room, followed by the soft clicking of the holographic interface. His wristband buzzed, and a moment later, a blue glow formed in front of him. The system pinged with an incoming message, followed by a quest notification.
Seon's eyes narrowed as he read the quest. Another one similar to his first, but this time the stakes were higher. He wasn't just fighting for himself now—he was fighting for the success of Unit Z. And with the mission so close, every moment of training counted.
Without wasting a second, Seon charged forward, launching a swift punch to the clone's midsection. The clone effortlessly blocked the attack, its movements smooth and precise. It retaliated immediately, aiming a fist toward Seon's ribs. Seon twisted his torso, narrowly avoiding the strike before countering with a spinning kick to the clone's side.
The impact echoed in the room, but the clone remained unphased. It reset its stance and closed in again, pushing Seon to continue adapting. Every ability that involved combat had upgraded to the point that they didn't need to be activated. He moved instinctively when he was attacked.
The sound of fists and feet connecting against the soft padding of the floor was a constant rhythm. Seon focused on his breathing, each exhale measured, each move deliberate. He wasn't just training his body. His mind raced, calculating every move, every counter. His awareness had to be sharp—every inch of the battlefield had to be analyzed.
"Come on!" Seon muttered to himself, his voice barely audible over the clash of limbs. He couldn't afford to let up.
The clone shifted tactics, using a low sweep to trip Seon. He fell hard to the ground, the impact jolting his spine. For a moment, the world seemed to blur. But before he could regain his balance, the clone was already on top of him, pressing down with its hands, trying to pin him. Seon pushed back, forcing himself into a roll, then springing back to his feet in one fluid motion.
This was no ordinary training. The clone wasn't just a reflection of his abilities; it was a tool to make him better. Each move it made challenged him to think faster, to react quicker. And when he thought he had a strategy to outsmart it, it adapted, forcing Seon to constantly rethink his approach. It had the same abilities and levels as him yet it moved like it was twice as strong.
A few hours passed—though to Seon, it felt like mere minutes. Sweat soaked through his training suit, his muscles sore and trembling with exhaustion. He was barely able to keep up with the clone now, the physical toll of nonstop combat taking its toll. But he couldn't stop. Not yet.
Seon gritted his teeth and pushed forward, his movements becoming sharper, more precise. Each strike, each block, each counter was a puzzle to solve. Slowly but surely, the clone began to falter. A shift in its timing. A subtle lag in its reactions.
Seon seized the opportunity. With a well-placed kick, he sent the clone staggering back. He followed up with a combination of punches, landing blow after blow in a calculated pattern. The clone staggered, unable to keep up.
Finally, with a swift elbow to its chest, the clone collapsed onto the mat, defeated. Seon stood over it, chest heaving as he caught his breath. He was bruised, bloodied, but satisfied.
"Not bad," Seon whispered, wiping the sweat from his brow. His shadow clone shimmered, the light around it flickering as it began to disintegrate. The system deactivated it, leaving Seon standing alone in the quiet room.
He let out a breath and went to his room to shower before going to class. The system was now fully synced to the Edner's control room which resulted in the mission taking an average of 50 minutes including the medics.
The whole unit was doing good despite training only for 3 days. He put on his uniform ate an apple and then went to class. He was the second one with B siting in his seat going through his tablet. His unit was now averaging 2 hours after Seon helped him with strategies.
He set down and B greeted him with a sound. He put his head on the table and drifted of to sleep. He was pushing himself above and beyond with the mission and his quest. He was almost fully asleep when the table moved and his head shot up. A was had her legs on the table with C going through his tablet.
X walked and for the first time a while he looked like he slept well. Behind him was 4 new man ones seon didn't know but from his celestial insight they were very powerful man.
"Morning Captains. The has been a change of plans. These are the higher up and they will be observing you from now on. You do not need to know their names and you do not need to talk to them just act like they aren't there and ignore them" X said before clapping his hands.
Everyone in the room tensed at the introduction. As far as Seon knew they were part of the people who started this whole program having them coming to observe them ment Seon was going to be more careful when using the system.
X contiued the lesson and then dismissed them. Today was going to be the first time his unit and Edners worked together. He was going to be in the control room today to see how the leaders he chose lead thier groups.
"Mission one goal rescue the doll" he announced.
The man that was watching him was leaning against the wall and watched over the entire team. All the leaders responded with a clear over the speakers. For this mission Seon put a doll in the middle of the militaries first maze. It had simulated monsters and traps set up in it.
"Ghost divison move out. Left and right wing deploy the drones" Seon gave orders and the control room erupted orders being passed on and people on the field reporting thier movements.
The room buzzed with the sound of urgent chatter as Seon watched the control screens, his eyes flicking from one display to the next. His mind was sharp, calculating every move in real time, making sure the operation ran smoothly. The atmosphere in the room felt heavier, more intense now that the higher-ups were observing. He could feel their eyes on him, weighing him, judging him—but it didn't faze him.
The plan was simple, yet complex in execution. The Ghost Division would navigate the maze, clearing traps and disarming them with the help of drones. Meanwhile, Omega Squad would provide support, and Valkyrie Squadron would be ready to move in once the area was secure. The success of the mission depended on timing, coordination, and precision.
"Ghost Division, report status," Seon said, his voice calm but commanding.
"Ghost Division is in position, sir," came the reply from the team lead. "We're moving forward. The drones are active, scanning the left wing for traps."
"Good. Keep it tight," Seon responded, his fingers flying over the console. He adjusted the drone placement in the simulation map, expanding their coverage to ensure they wouldn't miss anything. "Omega Squad, how's the extraction point looking?"
"Secured, sir. The path to the doll is clear for now," Omega's lead replied.
Seon didn't let up. Every minute felt like a lifetime. He focused on the holoscreen in front of him, tracing the path of each squad as they moved through the maze. His heart rate stayed steady, even as the pressure mounted. There was no room for error.
"Valkyrie Squadron, be on standby. Get ready to move once we give the signal," Seon continued, his voice unwavering. He knew the importance of coordination—timing, communication, and trust in the units.
As the drones zoomed over the virtual map, Seon zoomed in on the left wing. There, a cluster of simulated monsters was moving in slowly, undetected by the Ghost Division. They had missed them, but Seon caught the anomaly just in time.
"Ghost Division, stop. You've got enemies ahead, 20 meters out. Prepare for engagement," Seon barked, his eyes narrowing.
The tension in the control room grew as the operators readied their stations. The higher-ups observed without comment, but Seon could feel their expectations pressing down on him. The team on the field adjusted their formation, preparing for the encounter.
"Omega Squad, take defensive positions. Valkyrie Squadron, move into position for immediate extraction once we have control of the area."
The drone feeds were clearer now, providing enough intel to pinpoint enemy movements and traps in the maze. The Ghost Division was setting up a perimeter, taking their positions behind the traps to disarm them. But the monsters were closing in faster than expected.
The first engagement was imminent.
"All units, be ready. This is not a simulation. Do your job, and we all walk out of here. You want to survive? Give everything you've got." Seon's voice came through over the intercom, steady and unwavering, but laced with authority.
"Yes, sir!" the unit leaders responded in unison.
The battle began, chaos erupting on the holoV screens. Seon's mind moved with rapid precision, every decision calculated in real time. As the monsters attacked, the Ghost Division sprang into action, disarming traps and neutralizing threats with deadly accuracy. Omega Squad provided support, covering the team as they advanced.
Seon leaned forward, watching the simulation play out like a game of chess. Every move counted. His instincts had guided him this far, and now, his strategy would carry them through.
"Ghost Division, you're clear to move forward. Keep disarming the traps and take out the monsters. Omega Squad, follow up. Valkyrie Squadron, standby."
He gave orders, his voice cool, sharp, and focused, as the mission unfolded around him. His perception of the battlefield was becoming second nature, each choice he made a calculated one, every moment just a step closer to ensuring the success of the mission.
He wasn't just leading his team. He was ensuring their survival. And with each command, his resolve grew stronger. The higher-ups might be watching, but Seon didn't care. He wasn't here to impress them—he was here to get the job done.
"Mission complete," came the voice of the Ghost Division's leader.
The room filled with a wave of quiet relief, but Seon remained standing, his eyes still fixed on the screens. His mind was already turning, planning, calculating the next steps. It wasn't over yet.
"Good work, everyone," Seon said, his tone acknowledging the effort, but he wasn't done. "We're not finished until the final extraction is complete. Stay focused."
His unit moved with purpose, and as Seon watched them, he felt a sense of pride. They were ready. All of them.

"Cap something's wrong. These monster ... they don't seem like simulations" a voice broke through the intercom and the entire room went quiet.
