Wes immediately released Blackbeard and turned to confront the advancing Spaniards.

With a swift incantation, he cast the Transfiguration spell once more — and summoned the massive snake. As soon as the giant serpent materialized, it lunged into action, attacking the Spanish soldiers with violent fury. Every coil and twist of its immense body sent tremors through the ground like a localized earthquake.

It rolled through the Spanish lines, knocking down any soldier who failed to dodge. The snake then opened its gaping maw and let out a low, guttural roar.

The Spanish troops were thrown into disarray. They had never seen such a monstrous creature before and faltered, unsure of how to respond.

"Disperse! Don't give it multiple targets at once!" an experienced Spanish captain shouted. His commanding voice cut through the chaos. Assessing the situation quickly, he realized that staying bunched together would make them easy prey for the enormous serpent.

"Fire at will!" he barked, drawing the musket from his belt and firing at the beast.

Gunfire erupted as the soldiers came to their senses and raised their weapons to retaliate. But their bullets, though aimed true, merely bounced off the serpent's thick, armored scales. A few shots managed to pierce its hide, but they did no real harm.

The serpent grew enraged. It let out a deafening roar, surged forward, and wrapped itself around a dozen soldiers, crushing and tossing them like rag dolls.

The British troops and pirates seized the moment. Using the chaos to their advantage, they launched a coordinated counterattack. From behind rocks and ruins, they fired muskets and charged with blades, pushing the Spanish back step by step.

In the midst of this turmoil, the Spanish soldiers forgot all about the Fountain of Youth.

Wes turned his focus back to Blackbeard.

The earlier attempt to extract his memory had been interrupted. He would have to start again from the beginning.

Wes placed his wand against Blackbeard's temple and delved into his mind, searching for anything related to forbidden magic.

Blackbeard's mind was a cluttered mess of broken memories and images. Wes combed through the mental chaos with methodical patience until, finally, he located what he was looking for — the secrets of witchcraft.

The process was agonizing for Blackbeard. It felt as though a hot awl were being twisted deep into his skull. He opened his mouth in a silent scream, unable to produce sound. Saliva dripped from the corner of his mouth. The once-mighty pirate now trembled, humiliated and broken.

"Father!" Angelica cried out, her heart breaking as she watched the torment. She lunged forward to intervene, but Jack Sparrow held her back.

"Jack, let me go! I have to save him!" she sobbed, struggling with all her strength.

Tears streamed down her face as she pleaded, but Jack held firm. His grip was unwavering — not out of cruelty, but out of survival. He knew that interfering with Wes now would mean certain death for them all.

Wes drew a silvery strand of memory from Blackbeard's temple — the extracted knowledge of his dark magic — and sealed it in a small glass vial for future study.

Blackbeard, his mind violated and empty, collapsed to the ground. He was little more than a husk.

Wes didn't spare him a second glance. To him, the pirate was no longer useful. The Fountain of Youth had been found — everyone else was now just in the way.

He raised his wand and began to chant.

A strange sensation swept over everyone present, except Jack Sparrow and Angelica. It felt like thousands of ants crawling under their skin.

The itching grew unbearable. Men clawed at themselves desperately, even drawing blood. Some rubbed themselves raw against jagged rocks in a futile attempt to stop the torment.

Wes maintained the spell for five long minutes. When it finally ended, the itching vanished instantly — but the pain and fear remained. Everyone staggered, panting and disheveled, their bodies covered in wounds and scratch marks.

"Leave," Wes said coldly. His voice was like a blade.

No one hesitated. They grabbed whatever weapons or bodies they could and fled the cave, terrified to look back.

"Take the corpses with you," Wes added.

They obeyed without question, carrying the dead in silence.

To Wes's surprise, a handful of people remained behind: Jack Sparrow, Hector Barbossa, Angelica, Gibbs — and Blackbeard, barely clinging to life.

Jack shrugged. "Mr. Wizard, I believe I'm still owed a reward?"

Gibbs stood half-hidden behind Jack, trying his best to avoid eye contact with Wes.

Angelica wept silently, kneeling beside her father's broken body. She looked up at Wes, eyes pleading.

"Please… let my father go. I'll do anything," she begged.

"He's no use to me anymore," Wes replied bluntly.

He handed the Sword of Triton to Jack. "The Black Pearl is in Blackbeard's collection vault."

Jack accepted the sword with a sly smile, running a hand along the hilt. With this blade, he now had control over Queen Anne's Revenge — and, by extension, two of the most powerful pirate ships ever to sail the seas.

Wes turned to Hector Barbossa.

Hector raised his hands in mock surrender and smiled nervously. "Jack and I go way back. I think I'll be leaving with him."

"Anything else?" Wes asked, eyeing them all.

The group, sensing Wes's desire to be alone, prepared to depart.

Jack considered asking for Elodie — the mermaid he'd once loved — to be released. But Gibbs stopped him with a firm whisper.

"Don't provoke the wizard. He wants their tears, not their lives."

As the group began wading through the cave's pool exit, Barbossa suddenly turned, drew his sword, and stabbed Blackbeard in the heart.

Blood gushed from the wound. Everyone froze in shock.

What happened between them after that, Wes no longer cared to know.

To ensure he wouldn't be disturbed, Wes laid traps in the pools at both cave entrances. Any intruder would be "warmly welcomed."

Once the area was secure, Wes conjured a table, a chair, and a magical device resembling a microscope from his enchanted suitcase and began setting up his lab.

He examined the collected mermaid tears under the strange apparatus. The dark cave, the humid air, and the bound mermaids nearby created a grim scene — the image of a dark sorcerer performing some forbidden ritual.

The true secret of the Fountain of Youth was sacrifice.

Life could only be transferred from one soul to another through a sacred ritual — one requiring mermaid tears, the Holy Grail, and the water from the Fountain. Each element was essential.

The ceremony purified the soul and body of one person, converting them into raw vitality — then passed it on to another.

But how did the process truly work?

Could the vengeful spirits within the Philosopher's Stone also be purified?

Wes had questions — and now, he had time to seek answers.

But he also had a problem.

The location of the island was no longer secret. The British and Spanish survivors would return with reinforcements soon.

Wes made a decision.

He cast a powerful fog charm over the island, shrouding it in thick mist. Treacherous reefs beneath the surface would wreck any approaching ship.

Even if the British or Spanish found it again, they'd be unable to land safely.

Even if they reached the cave, Wes had planted magical flora — devil's snare, man-eating plants, and other lethal surprises — to guard every entrance. Anyone approaching would be swallowed whole.

Finally, he layered the area with enchantments: a Confundus Charm, a Concealment Spell, and a Muggle-Repelling Ward to hide the cave completely.

Only after securing every boundary did Wes return to the Fountain of Youth — to begin the next phase of his dark research.
