Beyond Mortals

Chapter 2 Episode 2: A New Path

The Ring's mystery

The golden ring sat on Alex's desk, gleaming underneath morning light. He stared at it, his fingers hovering just above its surface, but it it remained still. No energy, no glow-just a simple band of metal.

Nate leaned against the wall, arms crossed. "So...has it done anything else?" he asked, his tone half curious, half skeptical.

Alex shook his head. " Nothin. its just...there."

"You sure its not some weird prank? Maybe its just an old relic or something."

Alex sighed. " I don't know. But it dosen't feel normal."

Nate shrugged. "Well, let me know if it starts floating or something."

LEANNAH AT SCHOOL

Morning Hill High was buzzing with students as Alex and Nate walked through the hallways. Everything seemed normal-until Alex noticed a familiar figure standing near the lockers.

Leannah.

Alex froze for a second before muttering, "Its her. She's back."

Nate followed his gaze and frowned. " What's she doing here?"

They had both seen her the night before, in the shadows, when she had taken down the strange figure with ease. But now she was here, dressed like a regular student, blending in as if nothing had happened.

Leannah met Alex's eyes and gave him a knowing look before turning away.

Alex and Nate exchanged glances.. Something was definitely going on.

Before Alex could even process Leannah's presence, a familiar voice sneered behind him.

"Well, well, if it isn't Morning Hill's favorite loser," the bully mocked, stepping in front of Alex.

Alex sighed. Not again.

Before the bullycould shove him, Leannah appeared besides Alex, her stance controlled and ready.

"Walk away," she said firmly

The bully scoffed. "Or what?"

Leannah moved so fast that Alex barely saw it happen. In one fluid motion, she twisted the bully's arm, sending him stumbling backward. Then, with a precise sweep of her leg, she knocked him off balance, making him crush onto the floor.

The hallway went silent

The bully scrambled up, glaring at Leannnah but clearly too afraid to retaliate. "Your crazy," he muttered before storming away. Leannah turned to Alex. "Your welcome."

Nate leaned in. "Okay she's definitely not normal."

Alex just nodded

Training Begins

After school, Alex was still thinking about Leannah when she suddenly appeared beside him.

"Come with me," she said.

"Where?"

"You'll see."

Before Alex could question further, Leannah placed a hand on his shoulder. A pulse of energy surged through him, and in the blink of an eye, the world around him vanished.

When he opened his eyes, he wasn't in school anymore.

The sky was a swirling mix of deep purples and blues, filled with glowing symbols. The ground beneath him felt different lighter, almost like he was standing on pure energy. Strange, towering structures surrounded him, shimmering with green and gold light.

"Welcoming to the immortal world", Leannah said. "Your training begins now."

Evil Awakens

Far away, in the deepest parts of the immortal world, something stirred.

Dark energy pulsed through the ancient prison, cracks forming along the surface. A deep, guttural voice echoed through the void.

"The heir has arrived.....It is time"
