CHAPTER NUMBER 2
I continued the rest of my day as I normally do, the only thing which I hadn't done today was my workout and the run I usually go on, except those two things, I carried on my day like any other.
I reached college and attended my classes like usual but there was something odd.
Even though I don't know when I went to sleep last night, I certainly did sleep, soundly at that and woke up later than usual but still I was sleepy for the whole day and very sleepy, this never happens to me, I thought that it was just exhaustion from when I hung out with Jack and the others.
Neglecting yet again.
The pain in my leg which I felt in the morning grew as the day went by, along with my leg my body also started to ache all over. This was the first time I ever felt this much pain over my whole body.
When the last class ended, Jack came to meet me like always and asked me if I did what they asked me to do last night.
Jack,
"So, did you do it, how was it? Did you have fun last night?"
Jack was talking loudly so everyone in the surrounding heard it and the way Jack spoke it could only mean one thing.
"Can you not talk any louder, hear your own sentence first, think what you would think if you heard someone talking like this."
Jack thinks for a while and realizes,
"Oh, my bad but tell me what did you think about last night."
I knew he was going to ask me about last night and I was also eager to tell him about my experience.
"It was, Fun!"
"See I told you to try it, so what did you think about, tell me."
"At first, I didn't know what to think about, then I remembered one of your friends talking about how he thought of cars, then I also had a sudden urge to see how it feels to drive a car…"
I told Jack about my whole experience of last night including,
"In the end I crashed into the back of a cargo truck which woke me up, when I woke up it was already morning and my alarm was going off."
Jack was hearing my story like he was genuinely having fun hearing it but when I told him about the last part, he had a confused look on his face.
"What you crashed, in your own thoughts and woke up right after to see that it was already morning."
After seeing him confused, I felt that something was wrong,
"Why, what's the problem?"
Jack,
"It's that when we think at night about useless stuff, we only imagine about It but the way you told me sounded like you actually experienced the whole thing and waking up in the morning is also a little odd, I don't know about the other but when I have these thoughts I can't go to sleep, so I immerse myself in them for a certain period and when I think that's enough, I try to block out the thoughts so I can sleep."
I was flabbergasted to hear that mine and his experience are so different, my experience and his thoughts were two completely different things, I started to feel uneasy.
"Then what? what does this imply?"
Jack raises his voice as the sentence goes on.
"This implies that your imagination is AWESOME."
"I mean think about it, if your imagination is so good that it feels like you actually went through the incident, think of the endless possibilities you can have."
When I heard Jack say this, the uneasiness I was feeling suddenly went away and his words started to unexpectedly make sense.
"Yeah, whenever I would have a bad day, I would think of good things at night and all of my worries would vanish and I would have a new story to tell about as if I really went through it. "
Jack and I both dapped our hands thinking we just discovered something great.
"JACK!!"
Someone calling jack.
Jack,
"oh it seems that I will have to go, don't forget to tell me more about this, I will be going than"
Jack leaves the room.
"Ah, I suddenly remembered, JACK! JACK!"
I kept calling but he had already left.
"Well, I will ask him later."
***
I looked at my watch to see that it was late, "Damn, it's already this late, I will be late for work."
I picked up my bag and headed for my part time job, the part time job that I currently have is as a bartender in a quiet sophisticated pub.
I would usually just walk to the pub, it being close to our institute but today I took a bus, first I was getting late and second the Cramp, but I noticed something, that as the day went by I got more and more sleepy, getting sleepy was understandable, as you get tired you get sleepy but the pain which was gradually increasing didn't made sense.
I reached and entered the pub through the back door where the staff enters from.
I was greeted by the manager of the pub upon my arrival.
Manager
"Hey, you are here, I thought you were not coming today because you usually come really early."
"Yeah, I was caught up in something."
"It's alright, I was just joking around."
"Then I will change and start my shift."
"Okay" he said that while giving me a thumbs up.
I started my shift, I cleaned up the pub, the front deck and prepared some things for drinks which were to be made later.
While I was working, I bumped into a table. It was just a normal bump but the pain I felt from it was impeccable.
The work is not that hard but today working was like walking on a floor filled with spikes while a fire was lit under it.
I tried to power through it but reached my limit not too late, so I asked the manager to leave early.
"Hey manager, Can I go early today?"
He instantly said yes seeing my state,
I was all sweaty as if I was coming down with a fever, my face was red, I was slouching because of having no strength in my body.
"Yeah, go on! Do you need anything or do you want me to give you a lift?"
I replied, with my voice gradually shrinking and getting deeper.
"No, thank you for the gesture but I will go on my own."
"Alright, if you say so but be careful on your way back."
I nodded my head and left the pub.
***
It was already night, who knows how I got home, I bought some medicine on my way thinking I was down with a fever and ate something light to gain some energy back.
As soon as I got home, I laid down on my bed as if I hadn't lied down in ages or as if my legs had given up on standing.
But as I laid down on the bed, I felt strangely good. All the pain and stress I was feeling gone in a snap, I felt literal bliss from lying down on the bed.
"Why do I suddenly feel great all of a sudden? Is my bed a doctor or something?"
After laying down for a few seconds, I decided to take a shower. Due to the excessive sweating, I did not smell nice, I stood up from the bed and went to the bathroom but when I took off my clothes.
"WHAT! what is this, why is it like this."
I was looking at myself in the mirror just to notice.
The spot on my thigh where I bumped into the table had a blue spot, it was completely bruised.
I was shocked to see this,
"Did I bump into the table that hard, what was the table made off"
I thought that it was from when I hit the table in the pub.
I shouldn't have thought that.
I took my shower and went to bed, I was relatively tired, considering the work I did today, I should have been less tired.
"Let's go to bed, what time is it anyway, oh it's already 10:30pm, hmm, I don't have a class early in the morning, I could do the thing I did last night again…."
Thinking whether to dive deep in my imagination or not,
"Screw it, I had fun last night even though it ended in a crash, it was still fun."
I tucked myself in bed getting really comfortable and started to think, started to pour thoughts into my mind and started imaging it really, really well.
"But what should I imagine about, yesterday I did drive a car trying to see if it was fun or not following an example but know what, I will just close my eyes to see if something comes to mind."
I Closed my eyes to let my mind and imagination run free.
After a while I opened my eyes on instinct just to see myself in a different situation and place.
I was sitting at a table in a room filled with people, weapons on the table, A person saying something to me.
