"I feel incompetent at doing anything that isn't about…you know." Ashly said, she can't reveal more about her pass to Richard. "I have nothing going on for me, I am a nobody."
Lucas can't make himself leave at this moment, "Listen when I say this, it feels as if a wound has opened. A wound that I though was long gone, it's back and I don't know what to do."
"Lucas, I remember something that I just can't understand or explain it well." Ashly takes a deep breath. "That's all I want to tell you, I will wait until that day to give you my answer. This was just something I need to get out of my chest."
"Well that's great because I don't know what to say to that." Lucas says, "I'm a bit glad you said this, but it won't influence anything in a few days alright?" Ashly nods.
Richard leans in and whispers. "I think you did a good job, that should be something you should be proud of." He smiles at Ashly. "I do believe that you are being sincere, I just want you to know this alright."
Ashly turns to Richard. "I guess you're right, I should be happy about this. The problem is that I always followed one narrow path, but now…I just remembered my past. Part of it but I know more about myself, I don't feel glad at this moment."
"Yeah that's understandable, I wasn't expecting you to just be fine." Richard whispers.
"I want Lucas to trust me again, I just want that for now." Ashly then turns to Lucas and speaks normally. "Well that was it, there is nothing more to say. I will take my leave now, and hopefully give you the answer I feel like is most appropriate."
Lucas nods and puts up a smile that Ashly doesn't know if it's real or fake. Ashly turns around and begins to leave, Lucas turns and walks the other way. "Wait hold on a second." Richard says to Lucas.
Lucas stops and turns again, he is now facing Richard. "I do have to say that Ashly is different, she almost feels like a different person." Lucas scratches his head in confusion, "I don't know how you did it. I want to thank you for it, I feel happy that she is much better."
Richard smiles at Lucas. "No it's alright, I just did what my father would of done. I'm not this person you should be thanking, it's Ashly that should receive it. She was the one who said all of this, I didn't know she would would speak to you like this."
"I don't know either of you so it's not much of a impact as it is to you. I can tell by the way you looked utterly shocked." Richard says as Lucas chuckles a bit, Richard can't help but stare at Lucas. Lucas seems like a genuine guy, how could someone like him suffer. Lucas's smile reminds Richard of the one his father gave him when he was a child.
"It's shocking seeing Ashly be so considerate and genuine. It's the first time she was like this without lying at all." Lucas then looses his smile for a second. "To think I ever believed in her in the past while she was horrible. I feel like a complete moron for not noticing sooner."
"I cried when I found out Ashly's true colors, she wasn't who I believed she was. I guess I deserved it." Lucas then looks away for a bit as he feels embarrassed to say it.
"I let my imagination run wild in making up who I thought was Ashly. I forgot Ashly was her own person, and I only thought about myself. Ashly seems emotionless, it's as if I kinda talked to a doll. She was being honest, but I feel a bit concerned for her wellbeing being." He says.
"Yeah well you don't look better yourself, gosh you look like a corpse." Richard says as he stares at Lucas, his face seemed a bit pale. His eyes were slightly red and baggy, but his smile made him seem fully alive.
"You two look identical at this point, maybe you two were ment to stick together." Richard said jokingly.
"Well that is very wierd, but it is not implausible, I don't know if I should be happy or not." Lucas says smiling again, "I cant blame Ashly entirely for what she did. She grew up with terrible people, and that's all she knew, it's expected for her to turn out this way."
"Since I meet her when I was a kid I just grew to ignore it all. I was young and I believed no friend could ever hurt anyone. I was desperate for a friend, and I forgot about how environments influenced people."
"Yeah that makes sense to me, she can't think correctly because that was all she knew." Richard says and Lucas agrees, "I just didn't expect a doll to cause all of this."
"Yeah I think I should of spend more time with her. Maybe if I did then things would of turned out differently. Ashly having a friend who showed her how to be kind, if only I did." Lucas says.
"Yeah I believe you should of, you're a very kind man." Richard said, "If there was one person who would teach kindness to others it would be you. You just need to be more firm as you were basically inviting people to walk all over you."
"Yeah you're probably right, I should of been more assertive, well that doesn't matter now. I need you to spend more time with her, I have other matters to attend to." Lucas asks Richard which he seems a bit surprised by what he was told. "I do trust you that you will continue to help her out."
"Well alright then, I hope you are careful with who you are around with. Don't let anyone take advantage of you anymore." Richard said as he turned to leave and Lucas grins.
Richard then runs after Ashly who was already gone. He finds her and catches up to her taking deep breaths. "Hey, you shouldn't leave like that alright." Richard tells Ashly.
Ashly looked at Richard and nods. "I'm sorry, but I just couldn't help it. I feel relieved that Lucas listened to me, and didn't shut me up." Ashly then thinks about the doll, she can't believe she managed to say it. She feels as if she is opening up, but at the same time closing.
Ashly wants to be normal, she wants to have normal thoughts and normal memories. Can she be a normal person after committing so many crimes, does she deserve it? Of course she doesn't, what is she thinking all of the sudden. She is a terrible person who should die alone without experiencing happiness at all.
She treated Lucas badly, she can't believe he let her do it for so long. "I'm so glad I meet a kind man within this rotten world." Ashly says to Richard who agrees with her, why was she given a chance in the first place. She is glad she was but she shouldn't have, it feels like she was handed everything.
Maybe she should die already, and the world would be much better. "You know Richard, I just need to spend some time alone. I want to think more alright." Richard nods and leaves her by herself.
"Make sure to speak with Lucas without fear alright. Don't you dare back down after all you said." Richard says and Ashly nods smiling.
Ashly walks by herself, she is planning how she would say this to Lucas. How would she fix their relationship, and how long would it take for it to happen. She wants this to work again, and hopes she makes up to him. Lucas is very kind and she feels sorry for ever using him. Lucas is going to be gone, and she hopes she can follow him.
It's been a few days and Lucas is writing another letter, he is smiling. This letter is about Ashly, and how she just acted recently. When they speak again, he will offer her a seat, and they will have this talk. They will finally have the discussion they should of had a long time ago. Lucas is a bit nervous, but he will wait patiently for Ashly to arrive.
He can't wait for them to speak face to face without letting their emotions ruin it. He keeps on writing on the piece to paper. He is smiling and seems a bit distracted, "I guess things are going to work out now, I hope it won't be awkward." Lucas tells himself.
Lucas then puts the pen on the table and cracks his fingers. He looks around and notices how the snow seems to have died out. The season feels so weird all of the sudden, back a few towns it would be snowing by now. This is fascination, and he hopes one day someone would make a book about it.
Lucas would definitely read it, and he hopes it would cover every district. He would love to read about how the weather is different in each district. He would gladly travel around to write the book, but he is doing something else. Lucas laughs and he grabs the pen again, he writes about how he misses them.
Lucas hopes that when he meets them again he would hug them tightly. He writes about how he would never forget them even if he finds his parents. To him they are always going to be in his heart, and he won't view them lesser than his real parents.
Lucas then looks up at some people who are walking and chatting calmly. Lcuas writes about how sometimes he wishes they were his real parents. He is sorry for being a bit of a troublesome kid, he wishes them the best. Lucas then folds it into a letter, Lucas then hears a familiar voice, and he takes deep breaths.
"Ashly, have a seat next to me, I finished writing a letter." Lucas looks at Ashly and she takes a seat, "I guess we can finally start, now tell me Ashly." Lucas then puts his hands on his lap "I hope you thought long, and hard about this, because I want to hear it now."
