The monster in front of me, for some inexplicable reason, remains motionless. Some monsters possess a rudimentary consciousness, and it's even possible to establish a primitive communication with some of them, but this one doesn't seem interested in negotiating. I know he intends to attack, but if he did so now, it wouldn't be fun for him. He's giving me an opportunity; he wants me to do something to make his hunt more exciting and challenging.
The 5th floor has a peculiar and intriguing structure. All the floors have unique challenges, some similar and others completely different. The most peculiar ones are those with Bosses, and this is one of them. The monsters aren't very challenging, nor was the Boss of this floor particularly difficult. The real challenge of this floor is its gravity labyrinth, which challenges my perception and skill.
The floor doesn't have a conventional structure, with a defined floor and ceiling, since gravity works differently in each location. The floor is like it has two grounds, and between them, vines of trees are connected, creating a complex and challenging network.
This monster, without a doubt, is not native to this floor. I doubt he can move freely as he wants, given the unstable and unpredictable gravity. Maybe the fact that he's not attacking me is because of this. After all, he might try to attack me, and the gravity around him could take him in another direction, making the situation even more unpredictable. But the fact that he's not attacking only makes me more nervous and alert.
However, it doesn't matter; on this floor, this labyrinth is a blessing for me, a challenge that I can overcome with my experience.
I have to think quickly, but I can't waste too much time. At some point, he's going to want to attack me. The only things I have with me are a sharp dagger, a sturdy rope, and a precious healing potion.
Ninsun ties the rope to her dagger with a secure knot, while the monster continues to stare at her with a fixed gaze. Ninsun observes her surroundings, trying not to lose sight of the monster, while searching for an opportunity to escape. After observing, she simply waits anxiously for its attack.
The monster, despite its only expression being its continuous crying, I know it can't take it anymore. It's salivating, and when it takes its first step, I'll be ready. But before Ninsun can think and plan her next move, the monster starts to approach, one step at a time.
When the monster was 3 meters away, Ninsun jumped about 4 meters high, using the gravity to her advantage. The gravity pulled her to the left, taking her to a new perspective. Now the monster was farther away, but that wasn't enough. The monster understood how the floor worked, and it simply did the same as her. The monster jumped, and soon was sent towards Ninsun through gravity.
Ninsun, after realizing what the monster had learned, felt relieved and then ran through the vines of the floor, constantly manipulating her gravity point, heading towards the exit. At some point, when Ninsun was close to the exit, she missed her jump, sending her to the center of the floor at an absurd speed.
The monster did the same, chasing her through the giant vines. Ninsun, with a quick reflex, threw her dagger at a vine she had passed through during her free fall. The dagger stuck to the vine, and the monster tried to attack her, but she dodged using the rope and swung back, using the vine where the dagger was stuck.
This monster knew about the gravity changing depending on the location, but there was more to it. No matter how aggressive the force of gravity was, there was no impact or damage. No matter the speed, or if she fell headfirst, she wouldn't suffer any damage. Her body would simply regenerate instantly. And the monster realized this, but... if that's all it knows, VICTORY IS MINE!
Ninsun fell in the same direction as the monster, and her speed increased more and more. The dagger, previously stuck to the vine, came loose, and she pulled it back into her hand, gripping it firmly. The monster knew there was no impact, so it wanted her to let it attack when it was already on the ground, and then it would attack her.
The monster collides with the ground, and despite the loud sound echoing, there was no damage to the monster. Ninsun, in mid-air, was face to face with the monster. "The impact of a fall really doesn't exist on this floor, but this rule only applies to one individual." Ninsun strikes the monster's forehead with her dagger, crushing its head with the impact of her velocity.
Ninsun, exhausted and euphoric, looks at the monster, truly confused, but happy, as she has leveled up after defeating the monster that wasn't from this floor. Exhausted, she faints.
Ninsun feels a severe headache and senses someone calling her. She opens her eyes and sees Kachisabi. "Ninsun! You've finally awoken. Congratulations on completing the first stage of training."
Ninsun becomes confused, finding this figure familiar, but unable to recognize them. "T-Thank you... but... who are you?"
