Chapter 8

Jaxon walked over and forcefully stomped on my hand, causing me to cry out in pain.

The more pathetic I looked, the more satisfied he became.

"I've been wanting to beat you up for a long time. You always act so nonchalant, and your success just highlights my incompetence."

Jaxon increased the pressure. He wanted to see me beg for mercy, but to his disappointment, I didn't even flinch.

"Are you going to sign or not? If not, I'll beat you to death."

Jaxon yelled at me, furious and embarrassed.

I fearlessly turned my head to look at him. Jade stood behind him, watching me impassively, silently approving his actions.

At that moment, I laughed bitterly at myself.

Laughing at how blind I was back then, willingly falling in love with such a woman.

Laughing at my own stupidity, offering my sincere heart only to be scorned and used.

"Jade, remember everything you're doing to me today. Don't regret it later."

Jaxon's presence in my house was undoubtedly Jade's doing.
