Chapter 8

Clayton continued to plead with me, trying to coax me.

"Vivienne, calm down a little. I know you're with Jaxon just to get back at me."

"Haven't you gotten your revenge by now? Can't we start over?"

"He's just some rich kid playing around. It's only the novelty for him. He'll never marry you!"

I shook off his hand as he reached out to grab me.

"Clayton, you're such a lowlife!"

"Your darling got with your best friend, and you can still stomach it? Whether Jaxon wants to be with me or not is none of your business. You were the one who betrayed me first!"

"I want a divorce because you betrayed our love first, not because I fell for someone else. You better get that straight!"

"I, Vivienne, have no interest in sharing a husband with another woman!"

Clayton remained unmoved, pulling me onto the couch, trying to force himself on me.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Clayton initially wanted to pretend no one was home.
