Aster watched the small creature slump to the ground.
There was no mistaking it. It was a Nomu.
Aster covered her ears. It was releasing a high-pitched sound that dug into her skull. SHUT UP! She thought loudly.
"Is everything alright in here?" A voice asked from out in the hall.
"Everything is FINE," Aster replied cooly.
"Alright. Goodnight."
"Night."
She turned her head back to the Nomu. It was lying lifelessly on the floor. Gross. Aster thought. Why does its brain have to be exposed? She gagged. She pulled her blanket off her legs and attempted to get out of bed.
Her legs touched the ground but wouldn't hold her up for long. She grabbed the side of her bed and began to walk towards the corpse. When she got close enough, she reached down and touched it. Slimey ooze engulfed her finger as she ran it down the Nomu's head.
Ew.
"Huh," She mumbled to herself. She took a closer look at its body. She had only hit it with a knife, yet its body was decomposing. One of its eyes rolled over to her while the other lolled to the side.
"Damn," a voice spoke up from behind her. She whipped around and saw a man looking at her. His eyes had a fiery tint to them as he stared her down. His focus shifted to the dead Nomu behind her.
"Did you have to kill it? They aren't infinite."
"W-who are you?"
"Mm." He replied. He walked over to her and crouched down, his eyes still on the Nomu. "Dabi." He looked at Aster for a terrified expression to enter her face. To his surprise, she looked calm.
"Dabi," She echoed. Aster knew that name. Everybody knew his name. "So, you are part of the League aren't you?"
"That's right," Dabi said. He grabbed the Nomu and tucked it under his arm. "I was sent to get the Nomu since you broke it. Thanks." He shuffled around in his pocket momentarily and then pulled out a button. He glanced back at Aster briefly before he clicked it.
A giant black mass formed in front of him. Just as quick as he had come, he left.
Aster blinked at the now-empty space. After a few minutes, she pulled herself off the floor and back into bed. What a weird night. I wonder why they put a Nomu in my room. What are they, pervs?
She shrugged off the thought and attempted to go to sleep. It took some time, but she finally managed to.
When Aster woke, it was still dark.
Dammit. She thought to herself. She yawned and hopped out of bed. As her feet touched the floor, someone grabbed her.
"Hey-" She began to say before her mouth was covered. Somebody pinned her arms to her body and was leaning awfully close to her. Their breath was hot on her ear as they attempted to shut her up.
"Shut up, brat." They growled in her ear. Aster paused for a second. She recognized the voice. She let her body go limp in his arms. This seemed to please him.
"Good girl," Tomura said. "Now, come quietly and I won't have to hurt the hospital. Deal?" Since she couldn't speak, she just slightly nodded her head.
He released her, and she immediately turned to face him. She coughed slightly and glared at him with all her strength. He smirked and leaned in closer. Tomura lifted her chin so they were level.
"Feisty..." He chuckled, a strange glint in his eyes. Aster knew her face was red. She quickly averted her eyes so she could calm down.
"What do you want?" She spat out, trying to distract herself.
"Oh, I almost forgot." He exclaimed. "You will be coming with me to meet the League."
Aster froze and stared at him in shock.
"What? Why? The League? What do you want me to meet the League of-" She began to spit out in a few seconds.
"SHUT. UP."
"FINE."
Tomura settled himself back on the hospital bed. He glanced at Aster as she struggled to put her boots on.
"You need help?" He asked after a moment. She shot him a wholehearted glare.
"Yes." She mumbled.
"What? I couldn't hear you."
"I said I need help, dumbass." She snapped back at him. He smiled and walked over to her. Bending down, he assisted her in putting her boots on.
"Ready to go now, princess?"
"Don't call me that! And yes."
