When Tritan said that Elyna could just stay in her room, it meant that she was really not allowed to leave her room at all. All her needs were brought by the maid. Tritan also visited her every day, although Elyna just ignored him every time.
Elyna felt stuffy. Not only could Elyna not escape, but she could only drink blood to replenish her energy. Elyna was afraid of herself when she first consciously drank the bloodstock that was provided especially for her. But every time she almost fell because she couldn't eat anything but blood, Tritan would personally help her to replenish her energy.
When that time came, Elyna would lose control of her own body and start eating blood as if it were the most delicious food on earth. That made Elyna even more afraid of herself. Elyna was afraid that she would lose her werewolf side. She was afraid of losing her relationship with Val because of Tritan's efforts to make her leave her wolf side.
Her fear slowly became a nightmare until Elyna finally chose to reject whatever the people around her brought her. She kept her mouth shut even if Tritan was persuading her personally. Elyna wrapped herself in a blanket. She tried hard to resist even if Tritan brought blood that almost took away her sanity.
'Val, Val.'
Every time her sanity almost disappeared, Elyna would call Val's name as if her wish could reach her mate. Elyna was afraid she would die if she continued to refuse to eat anything. But every time Elyna remembers that drinking blood will only distance her from Val, she starts to think that death is better than staying alive without being able to see Val again.
"You sleep again today."
Elyna remained hidden under the blanket when Tritan made his routine visit. Elyna could hear Tritan sigh in disappointment. Maybe it was because the man saw how the glass filled with blood for Elyna was left untouched again.
"Don't you want to drink? You'll get sick if you keep this up."
Tritan said that. But for Elyna, Tritan's weak voice sounded much more painful than hers. Worry began to creep into Elyna's heart. Elyna didn't like the way Tritan locked her in her room. However, after her memories returned, Elyna always recognized Tritan as her older brother and loved him for that.
"Elyna, I'm worried about you."
Tritan's voice grew weaker, and that made Elyna even more worried. She finally showed her face in front of Tritan. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw Tritan's face almost losing all its color.
"What happened to you?! Someone, please help us!"
Elyna no longer remembered her anger when she saw Tritan looking like he was going to die in front of her. Elyna's scream made the servants standing guard outside break in. When they saw Elyna hugging Tritan, who was so pale, hope rose in their hearts as they started to beg for their master.
"Princess, please drink blood for our prince. He refuses to drink anything since you refused the same. For vampires, refusing to drink blood is no different from asking for death!"
Elyna was shocked when she heard that. She was still fine even if she didn't drink blood because she wasn't a pure vampire, to begin with. But Tritan was different. Tritan would die if he refused to eat his only source of food.
"Drink this blood!"
Tritan closed his mouth tightly. He did what Elyna did to him these past few days.
"Brother!"
Elyna never wanted anyone to die for her. Her hand was shaking. When Elyna realized that Tritan was serious about his decision, she finally drank the blood that she had been avoiding.
The sweet taste that filled Elyna's mouth drove her crazy, but she tried not to drink too much. Elyna then pointed the glass at Tritan. Her gaze was filled with fear as she forced Tritan to do the same thing as her.
"Brother!"
Elyna panicked even more when Tritan still didn't want to open his mouth, even if she was no longer holding back. Her mind was in chaos. Elyna remembered something. Although Tritan always treated her gently, the man sometimes had a childish side that made her have to give in every time she made her brother sad.
Elyna bit her lip. She knew how to make Tritan forgive her. But if she did, there would be no way back for her.
However... Elyna also couldn't let Tritan die just like that.
Elyna drank the remaining blood in her cup, then held it in her mouth. Elyna awkwardly directed her lips to Tritan's lips. Tritan no longer refused her. The man let the blood flow through his mouth from his throat after that.
After a while, Elyna finally pulled her head back. Both of their mouths were wet with blood. They looked very lewd, and the sight managed to ease the dissatisfaction that Tritan had been harboring alone.
"Do you still want to refuse blood again?"
Elyna shook her head. However, she still averted her gaze from Tritan, who was looking at her with satisfaction.
"Thank you, Elyna. Drink well from now on. Tomorrow, we will go to welcome our father's awakening."
Tritan kissed Elyna's head once. After his crazy bet, Tritan had to go back to work to cover the power gap while he and his father were asleep.
***
When the time came for Georgio to wake up, a vampire race-style festival was held. Elyna was also not spared from the excitement. Since the afternoon, she had been dressed before being picked up by Tritan to meet their father when night fell.
"You are beautiful. Father will be happy when he sees you."
Elyna was silent but didn't resist when she kissed him on the cheek once. Tritan then gripped her hand tightly. Even though they were flanked by vampires who were tasked with guarding them, Tritan was still afraid that Elyna would escape his grip.
For the first time, Elyna was allowed to leave her room. Even though Elyna has memories of her past, everything still seems strange to her in that place. Elyna saw a moving statue or a lamp that was on without a power source like in Val's house.
"The statues are a manifestation of the magic of the king and queen of the vampire race. The sky is always night and the dimension is different from humans, thanks to the power of our Father."
Tritan spoke as he continued walking. He then smiled as he imagined his future with Elyna.
"In the future, that magic will belong to both of us."
"But I'm only half vampire," said Elyna. Tritan smiled. If that was a problem, in the first place, he would never have been betrothed to Elyna.
They had a way to purify Elyna's blood. And that was what Tritan had planned for the future.
"No problem. Let me take care of all your inconveniences, Elyna."
Elyna didn't speak anymore after that. Living with her brother for a few days made her realize something. No matter how hard she protested, if her wish was to stay away from Tritan, then the man would pretend to be deaf and not listen to her at all.
Instead of that, Elyna tried to look around to find an escape route when she had the chance. They walked through a complicated maze inside the castle. No matter how far Elyna looked, the path she took would only take her to the place where her father had spent time sleeping for hundreds of years.
The further Elyna walked, the quieter the environment around her became. A bone-chilling cold enveloped Elyna in that place. When Elyna was at that place, she finally understood why people forced her to wear warm clothes.
"We're here."
At the end of the long hallway, they found a large door with strange carvings on its surface. The vampires who came with them began to chant spells. With the vampires' magic, the large, heavy door finally opened.
Inside was a crystal-lined room. The room is very cold because the vampires need to ensure that the royal family sleeping there is in the best sleeping environment. Elyna's attention was then drawn to the most luxurious chest there. The chest slowly opened, and then a hand came out of it.
"Hic!"
When Elyna was frightened by the appearance of a pale hand from the chest, Tritan smiled, unable to conceal his excitement.
"We've been waiting for you to wake up, Father."
