"Hey, are you looking down on me?"
The wrinkles on Georgio's forehead became more obvious. Georgio fought intending to kill Val. But as the fight progressed, he felt that Val was never serious about killing him.
Val might just be a werewolf whose much weaker than a vampire. But when fighting Val, Georgio was surprised by the fact that Val could hold back his magic to a certain point. That was a first. Even Tritan would be helpless when he had used all his power.
With that power, Val should have been able to beat Georgio back because he had the advantage in physical ability. But Val didn't do it. He fought as if he only wanted to satisfy Georgio's anger.
"I ASK YOU WHETHER YOU ARE UNDERESTIMATING ME, DUKE OF THE VAMPIRE RACE?!"
Val jumped agilely when Georgio tried to attack him again. The man growled in his wolf form. Georgio was Elyna's father. Even though they were natural enemies, it was difficult for Val to seriously intend to kill Georgio.
Elyna had told him about what happened when he disappeared. She was probably disappointed because Georgio had forced her to bond with Tritan. But Elyna never hated Georgio.
Val couldn't possibly kill someone his lover loved. That was his decision, and he wanted to stick to his decision.
"Okay. No problem. Your attitude makes it easier to kill you."
Georgio didn't like killing in such a shameful way. But his children's lives were on the line. Georgio had to act, even if he secretly respected Val even though he was part of the werewolf race that he hated since the death of Tia, Elyna's mother.
"If you want to curse, curse the fate that has tied you to my daughter."
BAM!
Just when Georgio was about to deliver the final blow to Val, something came down quickly from the sky and hit Georgio hard. Georgio used his wings to dodge. He started to look alert. But once he saw who had just intended to attack him, his expression immediately changed.
"Elyna?"
In front of him, Elyna growled and showed her fangs as if she didn't know who she almost killed. Blood was still coming out of her eyes, ears, and nose. Her messy appearance made both Val and Georgio worried, and it successfully stopped the fight between them.
"Elyna-"
"Elyna, stop it!"
Elyna used her powers, and Georgio was too shocked to withstand her daughter's attacks. Elyna tried to break every joint in Georgio's body with her powers. But Val, who had changed into her human form, tried to stop her. She tried to wake Elyna up even if doing so also made her attacked by Elyna's uncontrollable power.
"Elyna, he's your father!"
Val didn't want Elyna to regret it later. But his efforts were too late. Since Elyna forcibly pulled out her wings, she had no longer been able to control herself or her powers.
"Ugh."
Realizing that his life was in danger, Georgio's instinct made him hold back Elyna's strength, although not completely. Georgio's hand which was almost rotated 360 degrees, slowed down quite a lot, but that didn't stop Elyna's attempt to kill him.
"Elyna, I'm fine. Breathe. Inhale, exhale. Follow my voice, Elyna."
The sound of cracking bones was heard from Val's body, but Val still guided Elyna to consciousness with a calm voice. What Elyna needed most at that time was the assurance that Val was fine. Val could feel it. Therefore, he tried to make Elyna listen to his voice again by pressing their foreheads together.
"I'm here. We're fine, Elyna."
Val looked at her. After his soft call, Elyna seemed to be trying to focus her eyes. Her pupils were shaking slightly. It took a few moments before the light returned to Elyna's eyes.
"Va-Val."
"Yes. It's me. Control your breathing. Follow my instructions. You can control your powers."
Elyna was too disoriented to realize that Val was dying from trying to wake her up when she lost control. Val seemed fine in front of Elyna. He tried hard to stay on his feet and calm Elyna down until the half-wing on Elyna's back disappeared and she was no longer bleeding.
"Good. You can... control it."
"Val!"
Elyna panicked when Val suddenly slumped down in front of her. It was only when she saw Val's disheveled state that Elyna realized that she was the real danger to Val. Elyna's breathing became erratic again. It was hard for her to stay sane when Val was dying from trying to revive her.
"Luna! Brother!"
Elyna looked up when she heard Eier's voice, which caught up to her and had changed back to her human form. Elyna wanted to ask Eir for help to save Val. But her expression changed to horror when she saw Eir looking shocked before she suddenly fell to the ground.
BANG!
The sound of a gunshot echoed in the place. Eir fell because someone shot her. Then, not long after, a middle-aged man appeared with his rifle.
"I already knew something was going on when someone recorded that they saw a strange large bird flying low in the city environment. But what is this? Can a vampire now also bond with a werewolf?"
The man threw away the cigar that he had previously held in his lips. The way he smiled scared Elyna. She knew the man. He was the same person who destroyed her last pack a few months ago.
"We meet again. Well... I got a lot of money by selling you back then. But, who would have thought that your buyer would be a werewolf?"
The man was about to touch Elyna, but his hand was held in the air by Val who was still conscious because of his strong desire to protect Elyna. Val's breath was short. Even so, he still tried to chase away the person who had scared Elyna until her whole body was shaking with fear.
"Don't touch... her."
"Hm..."
The man looked at Val calmly. He then smiled and waved his hand that was held by Val.
"Val!"
The man may have looked like an ordinary human. But when he waved his hand, Val was thrown several meters away. Elyna tried to attack the man to protect Val. But what she got instead was a punch that made her fall to the ground hard.
"Now, now, take it easy, Girl. You don't want to make me ruin my precious goods."
The man approached Elyna and pulled her hair roughly. An evil smile was on his face as he put a special collar around Elyna's neck.
"Calm down. You and that young werewolf over there are too valuable for me to kill."
His eyes then shifted to Val and Georgio. When he smiled, Elyna knew that something was wrong with the way he smiled.
"No, no!"
BANG!
BANG!
Elyna's ears rang as she heard the gunshots aimed at Val and Georgio respectively. Elyna's gaze fell on Val. She looked like she wanted to say something. But Elyna's attention was distracted when the hunter dragged her towards Eir by grabbing her hair.
After the hunter checked the stomach wound he gave Eir, he tied the same collar around her neck. He then dragged Eir in the same way. While whistling, he finally left the place.
