SC : Our Bond (4)

Several days had passed, but Eir had not woken up. Coupled with Elyna's condition, almost everyone from the Silver Moon Pack had gloomy faces. Their helplessness in dealing with problems made them start blaming others. Tritan -in this case- became the target of the werewolves' anger who were beginning to worry about the condition of their pack.

Hakan also didn't like Georgio who caused chaos until the hunters realized their presence, but he preferred not to care rather than show his hostility clearly to the man. Hakan had something more worthy to think about. He wanted to just focus on that problem and ignore the internal affairs of the Silver Moon Pack for a while.

"Alpha."

When Hakan was about to check on Eir's condition, he ran into Val, who had just finished checking on Eir's condition. Val smiled when he heard Hakan's greeting. "Just call me Val. I'm not your alpha anymore," he told him.

"That's-"

Val took a deep breath.

"I haven't had a chance to say this since you brought Eir back. But Hakan, I thank you for finding Eir," he said then.

"I only did what I had to do," Hakan replied. "But I wasn't good enough. Eir was hurt. She... she suffered at the hands of those bastards," he continued then.

"Even so, you did your best by taking revenge on behalf of my sister. That's enough. Just... please accompany Eir during times like these."

Hakan knew. No one knew how Eir would react when she woke up. To be honest, Hakan was also afraid. Because of that, he chose to stay in the Silver Moon Pack to make sure that he was by Eir's side when she woke up.

Hakan would hold Eir's hand, and rest against the bed, before falling asleep next to her every day. Hakan would only come out when his pack members contacted him, like what just happened.

"I'm going to-"

CRASH!

A sudden commotion erupted Hakan's sentence and that made Val and him immediately barged to Eir's treatment room. They were surprised when they saw Eir had woken up. But in her eyes, there was only fear when she saw the people she loved.

"Argh!"

Eir probably felt the collar around her neck was still there. Because of that, she could only let out an incoherent scream and strangle herself. Val and Hakan immediately approached her. They tried to prevent Eir from hurting herself even more.

"Eir!"

"I've informed Zen. He'll soon-"

"Eir!"

After getting telepathy from Val, Zen ran as fast as he could to meet Eir. He was surprised when he saw his usually strong sister crumble right in front of him. Eir kept struggling until Zen needed to prescribe special medicine to calm her down.

"Calm down, Eir. You're okay. We're with you."

When Eir started to weaken, Zen spoke to his sister, while Hakan hugged her body tightly. Eir's gaze seemed unfocused. For a while, the people around Eir kept whispering comforting words until Eir's gaze finally focused.

"Eir, how are you feeling?"

Zen tried to speak as gently as possible to Eir. He also smiled so that Eir wouldn't feel that they were all sad because of her condition. Val also held one of Eir's hands to give her strength. They all waited quietly, but Eir just stared at them without saying anything.

"Eir?"

In the next second, Eir averted her gaze. Her reaction worried the others. Hakan tried to talk to Eir, but the girl started covering her ears and closing her eyes tightly.

"Eir..."

Zen patted Hakan's shoulder, signaling that it would be good for them not to push Eir too much.

"Eir, we're going out for a bit. We'll be right behind that door. If you need any of us, just come out or knock on the door from the inside."

Zen explained but got no reaction from Eir. She wouldn't even look at the door Zen was referring to. Eir acted like she didn't care about anything anymore.

Eventually, Zen and the others left the room to discuss the situation. Hakan glanced back to check on his mate, only to find that Eir hadn't moved an inch.

Hakan eventually came out, then looked at Val and Zen who both had regretful expressions on their faces.

"Hakan, please listen to what I have to say."

Hakan swallowed his saliva roughly but still nodded while trying to stabilize his emotions.

"She may have woken up, but she is most certainly not fine. Her reaction was much worse when you approached her. She... she probably felt guilty towards you for one reason or another."

"But she didn't do anything wrong!"

"I know!" Zen replied in frustration when Hakan stated the fact that they knew very well. "It's just... I can feel that she thinks so. Please, Hakan. Let us try to approach her without you one more time."

Hakan could feel it too. When Eir woke up, what she feared the most was meeting him. Hakan also knew that the rejection was directed at him. Therefore, he finally gave in for the sake of his mate.

"I will persuade her."

Val was the person Eir respected the most. They knew that Eir probably wouldn't reject him. Therefore, they let Val in again and left them.

"Sob, sob. Waah!"

Not long after Val entered, Zen and Hakan heard the sound of crying from inside the room. The crying sounded so sad that Zen couldn't hold back his tears anymore.

Meanwhile, Hakan pressed his forehead against the door when he heard Eir finally showing her emotions properly in front of her older brother. Hakan listened to the crying while clenching his fists tightly. In his heart, he regretted not killing the man who bought Eir more cruelly than he should have.
