With the experience from the goblins, he shouldn't have leveled up, especially since finishing off the wounded gave him much less experience. It was the feline that should have provided him with the bulk of all that increase.
With a new determination Ikky, I continued to move forward, not He couldn't say that he had gotten used to it, or that he was particularly good at fighting, but he was surviving even if he had to use the dirtiest tricks he had at hand, and that gave him courage.
The cave rose, and the smell of blood and cat shit permeated the place more and more. When he reached a bend, he could hear a pitiful roar that bounced off the walls. It would be nice to think that he had surprised the wounded animal, but a beast is a beast, and his senses warned him of the intruder's presence long before Ikky asked to see him. The initially narrow natural tunnel widened and gained height; three adult animals could now walk calmly through it, and to top it off, different ledges could be seen a few meters above my head.
The place was dangerous, too dangerous, Ikky began to walk cautiously, attentive to any sign.
However, he only had time to see the red eyes that rushed towards him from above; the spear was torn from his hand by the weight of more than 200 kilos of the beast that fell with its jaws open on the shield.
Ikky fell on his back. With all the weight of the beast on him crushing him, he could barely reach the short sword that he had on the right side of his belt, and while the animal snapped its teeth and sank its claws into the shield until they pierced it, he tried to stab it as best he could. The animal took out its claws, dragging him with the shield as if Ikky were a puppet, to end up throwing him to the side. He scratched his face, twisted his ankle and landed as best he could with the shattered shield still hanging from his arm, unfortunately he could no longer put up much defense with that mess.
Ikky put the sword in front, trying to push away the claws that were approaching with the desire to tear off his head. If it weren't for the gladiator's forearms, he would have lost even an arm.
He was bleeding, and he had been taken by surprise. He pulled the dagger from his belt, ready to die in a dogfight, holding this new weapon in his left hand and the sword in his right. The feline jumped on Ikky again. He managed to dodge part of its weight and avoid being knocked down, but its teeth managed to pierce through his shin guards, tearing his right leg. With a brave attack the boy managed to give him a slash with the short sword that severed his ear and pierced his jaw.
The reaction was violent, the beast's claws launched in a desperate attack to survive. Out of pure survival instinct Ikky fell face first to the ground, dropping the short sword in the process. He was out of breath, partially unarmed and in a fight to the death, but he could feel the spear handle beneath him. Not all bad luck was going to be on his side, right?
He turned in time to lift the spear. It got stuck under the creature's armpit, if felines had armpits, but with the weight of the feline and being supported on the ground the spear broke in two.
Ikky managed to roll to the side in time, narrowly escaping the bite with which the creature tried to kill him. With a spear stuck deep in his body, with all the wounds from his previous fight, with the amount of blood he must have lost, and the damn animal still trying to chase him.
Ikky was not in his best moment either, bruised, with a torn leg, some broken ribs, and several cuts his condition was truly pitiful, but he could not stop fighting if he did not want to die.
Armed now only with a dagger and the hand axe, he managed to get up from the ground in a small respite given to him by the feline who was unsuccessfully trying to get rid of the spear that was stuck in him and that prevented him from killing that creature that was invading his burrow.
He charged forward to finish Ikky off quickly with his teeth since the shield was not in his way, and he could not use his claws since he had one leg disabled.
The hand axe hit him in the mouth, and in the teeth; the sound of broken teeth was heard as if marble plates had been broken, but this did not stop the furious beast and it managed to bite him on the right shoulder.
The animal did not release its grip and Ikky could notice how the teeth penetrated the leather armor, his skin, and his flesh, and how those teeth touched the bone. At one point the boy thought he was going to tear his arm off, so he started stabbing the dagger into the intruder's head, as many times and as hard as he could. If you want to try it, grab a lamb's head and try stabbing the bone part with a knife. As strong as Ikky was, the wounds didn't penetrate; they just tore the skin, sliding down the skull.
The animal rolled to crush the intruder with its weight as it fell, but the spear or the 80 centimeters that remained of it not only sank deeper into its flesh but left the player room to breathe and dodge the claw.
The feline continued to destroy the intruder's shoulder with its jaw and teeth, the only good thing was that it was beginning to be very weak, in other circumstances it would have undoubtedly amputated the arm. During that time Ikky was only able to stab the dagger a couple of times into the animal's body.
After a few seconds of seemingly eternal struggle, the feline loosened its grip on his teeth, but Ikky did not stop and continued stabbing, viciously, with the only desire in mind to survive that hellish combat.
