The first waves of Zinders were swept away without much difficulty or injuries or any casualties for the humans, but soon the exiles realized that they were no longer facing an isolated group of invaders, a few powerful beings like the ones they had encountered in the brawls on the surface.

This was an invasion like any war, one they had fought in the last period of their lives and they retreated to a safe distance until they could regroup. They all knew it was just a standoff, but it gave them enough time to consolidate their situation.

A group of mages led by Ronin and Pearl took charge of consolidating the entire structure of the room to prevent the Zinders, who were not idiots, from trying to bring down the entire roof on them or trying to break through from the outside into the storm collector. That would have meant the end of the humans and the failure of their strategy.
