Prologue: The Betrayed Shall Rise

In a world ruled by Hunters, the weak are nothing more than fodder. Those who awaken powerful classes become legends, their names etched into history. Those who don't? Forgotten. Left to rot.

Han Ryosuke was one of the forgotten.

Born into an elite Hunter family, his fate should have been legendary. His father was an S-rank warrior, his older brother an A-rank guild leader. When he awakened, expectations were sky-high.

But fate was cruel.

His class? Scrivener—a support-type class meant to record battle statistics.

His family disowned him. His brother cast him aside. The world mocked him.

For three years, he struggled at the bottom of the Hunter system, surviving in low-tier dungeons, barely scraping by.

Then, his own party betrayed him—leaving him for dead in a forbidden Red Gate.

Alone. Broken. Dying.

But death… was not the end.

As the darkness closed in, something ancient called to him. A power buried deep within the abyss. A power forgotten by history itself.

The power of the Revenant.

When Ryosuke opened his eyes, he was no longer just a discarded Scrivener.

He had returned from the dead. And in his wake, the world would tremble.

The man who was abandoned… will become the king of the forsaken.

Han Ryosuke – Main Character's Backstory

Class (Before Awakening): Scrivener (D-rank)Hunter

Class (After Awakening): Forsaken Lord (Necromancer Variant, Hidden Class)

The Abandoned Heir

Han Ryosuke was born into one of the most powerful Hunter families in Korea. His father, Han Jisung, was an S-rank warrior, feared across continents. His older brother, Han Ryuji, inherited the family's power and became the leader of the Azure Dragon Guild.

Ryosuke was expected to follow in their footsteps.

But when he awakened as a Scrivener, the lowest-ranked Hunter class, his family cast him aside.

"You are no longer a Han."

With those words, he lost everything.

For three years, he barely survived. He took low-tier dungeon jobs, endured humiliation, and became nothing more than a disposable extra in other Hunters' parties.

Then came the day that changed everything.

The Betrayal – Left to Die in the Abyss

His party accepted a mission to clear an E-rank dungeon—a simple, routine raid.

But deep inside, they found a Red Gate—a forbidden dungeon with no escape.

Panic. Chaos. Desperation.

To buy time for their escape, they sacrificed him.

"You're useless anyway, Ryosuke. Buy us some time."

His so-called allies shoved him into the path of the dungeon boss, using him as bait.

As he lay there, bleeding out, staring at the backs of the people who abandoned him—

The voice of the abyss whispered.

And he answered.
