Chapter 60 – The First Intervention

Min-seok was in trouble.

The goblin lunged at him, dagger flashing, its yellow eyes locked onto its target. Too fast. Too close. He had no time to react.

Kyung-min watched.

Would they handle it?

Or—

Would he have to clean up their mess?

A Flicker of Movement

Eun-ha saw it first.

She turned, body shifting mid-step—but too far.

Joo-hyuk reacted next, his heavy shield raising—too slow.

Da-jung's chant was still forming—too late.

Kyung-min sighed.

"Tsk."

The goblin's dagger rushed forward.

"Idiots."

Then—

[Abyss Step – Activated]

A blur.

A pulse of darkness. A flicker of movement.

And then—Kyung-min was there.

Right behind Min-seok.

His hand shot forward.

Not to block.

Not to defend.

But to grab the goblin by the throat.

Before anyone fully processed it, the goblin was in Kyung-min's grasp.

A Silent Kill

The goblin choked, its yellow eyes bulging. It squirmed, dagger still clutched in its clawed hand, but Kyung-min's grip did not loosen.

Kyung-min could feel the goblin's heartbeat. Erratic. Panicked.

A sickening crack echoed through the battlefield. The goblin spasmed once, then went limp.

Its throat cracked.

Yellow eyes bulged. It twitched once—then fell limp.

The others were watching.

Eun-ha's gaze flickered with shock.

Joo-hyuk's shield lowered slightly.

Min-seok was still frozen in place.

A Perfect Distraction

Kyung-min didn't waste time.

With a flick of his wrist, he hurled the goblin's lifeless body toward a small group of enemies.

The corpse spun through the air—and then changed.

[Summon Zombie – Activated]

For the briefest instant, the dead goblin's flesh pulsed black.

Its body twisted mid-air.

Its falling momentum didn't change.

But it was no longer just a corpse.

It was his.

And the moment it landed—

Boom.

A shockwave of dark mana erupted outward.

Goblins screamed.

Three were instantly torn apart. Another two, barely surviving, staggered—clutching at their chests.

They had no time to process it.

Because their fallen comrades twitched.

[Summon Zombie – Chain Effect Triggered]

Their bodies rose.

And the next instant—

Boom.

Another explosion.

Kyung-min's gaze didn't waver.

The chain reaction spread.

The goblins—**confused, panicked, disoriented—**were wiped out in an instant.

But no one saw how.

The dust settled.

The battlefield was silent.

Then—

Another group of goblins emerged.

Kyung-min exhaled, shaking off his wrist.

"Next."

The First Floor's Drag

The battlefield was eerily quiet for a moment.

The chain explosions had ended, leaving nothing but smoldering goblin remains and disoriented teammates. The dust was still settling, yet no one said a word.

Eun-ha glanced toward Kyung-min.

Joo-hyuk's grip tightened around his shield.

Min-seok swallowed hard.

Da-jung's lips parted as if to say something—but she hesitated.

Because they all realized something.

He didn't want to be questioned.

His name alone, K4Yos, was enough of a statement. A mystery. An identity he clearly wanted to maintain.

And so—whatever just happened, whatever he did—they let it go.

No one asked. No one confronted.

Instead, their focus returned to the fight.

Tactical Adjustments

The next wave of goblins had already begun their charge.

Joo-hyuk raised his shield, bracing himself. "Regroup!"

Eun-ha's sword gleamed as she repositioned. "Don't let them surround us this time!"

Da-jung's mana flared, her chant stabilizing. Min-seok gritted his teeth, trying to find an opening.

But Kyung-min?

He didn't move into formation.

Because he didn't care.

The first floor was taking too long.

Too inefficient.

With a slow exhale, he rolled his shoulders, stepping forward.

And then—he lowered his stance.

His body moved with a sharp, controlled speed—no wasted motion, no hesitation.

A goblin lunged.

He caught its wrist mid-air before it could swing its blade.

A sickening crack!

The goblin shrieked—its arm bent in a direction it shouldn't.

Kyung-min twisted his grip, snatching its club before the creature could even react. Killing the goblin with its own protruded arm joint.

Then—without looking—

He hurled it.

The club soared across the battlefield, its wooden frame spinning wildly—

—and slammed directly into another goblin's skull.

The impact sent the creature sprawling, blood splattering across the dirt floor.

Dead on the spot.

The team barely had time to process before Kyung-min was already moving again.

No Blade, No Problem

A goblin rushed at him from the left.

Fast.

Kyung-min sidestepped, barely shifting his weight—just enough to let the goblin's dagger miss by inches.

He extended his arm, gripping the goblin's wrist, then wrenched it downward.

A choked scream—its dagger clattered to the ground.

Kyung-min let go.

Only to immediately drive his knee into the goblin's ribs.

A pained gurgle—and then silence.

The goblin crumpled.

But Kyung-min wasn't done.

His hand flicked toward the fallen creature's sword.

With a single motion—he plucked it from the dirt.

A goblin shrieked in panic.

It turned to run.

Kyung-min threw the sword.

The blade pierced clean through its back.

It collapsed mid-step, twitching once before going still.

Massacre

For the next few minutes—Kyung-min cut through everything.

With no hesitation. No mercy.

While the others struggled to coordinate, he moved ahead, clearing the battlefield faster than the goblins could react.

One by one—they fell.

Some by his blade.

Some by his fists.

Some by their own weapons, turned against them.

None survived.

Enough Wasted Time

By the time the dust settled, Kyung-min was the only one standing among the dead.

His teammates?

Still catching up.

Panting. Exhausted.

Too slow.

He exhaled, shaking the blood off his hands.

"...We still have nine more floors to go," he muttered, glancing toward the looming staircase leading to the next level.

This wasn't enough.

Not even close.

Without waiting, Kyung-min turned—and stepped forward.

Toward the Boss Room deeper into the floor.
