Felix sighed as he walked toward his room after his light training session. His muscles ached, and he was exhausted—both physically and mentally. He just wanted to rest.
But as soon as he reached the hallway, his mood sank further.
Noah Flameheart.
"These Flameheart brothers keep popping up everywhere," Felix muttered under his breath. He wasn't in the mood to deal with Noah right now.
Still, Noah smirked as soon as he spotted Felix. "Oh, my little wolf looks frustrated."
Felix's eyebrow twitched. "Please go, Noah. I don't have the energy to talk to you right now." He turned to open his door, fully intending to shut Noah out.
But Noah grabbed the door, stopping it from closing.
"Noah, don't create a scene here," Felix hissed, voice low but agitated.
Noah's smirk widened. "You're the one creating a scene, little wolf. Raising your voice like that… not even letting me in."
Felix felt the stares of passing students, and his face heated up in embarrassment.
"Fine." He gritted his teeth. "Just come inside."
The door shut behind them, and Felix let out an exhausted breath.
"Stay at least five meters away from me." He warned.
Noah ignored the request entirely.
Instead, he stepped forward—closing the distance in an instant. Before Felix could react, strong arms wrapped around his waist.
Felix stiffened.
"W-What are you—"
His heart pounded in his chest, his face burning. Why was his body reacting like this?!
Noah leaned in, his lips dangerously close to Felix's ear.
"You keep running away, but you can't escape me, little wolf."
Felix felt his breath hitch.
Noah's arms were still around Felix's waist when he finally spoke.
"I like you, Felix. I want you to date me."
The words shook Felix to his core.
His eyes widened in shock, but before he could even process the confession, a sharp memory surfaced in his mind.
—Noah. Kissing. That. Girl.—
Felix's expression darkened, his heart twisting with anger and something else—something painful.
With zero hesitation, he slapped Noah's hands away, breaking free from his hold.
Noah blinked in surprise, momentarily stunned.
Felix took a step back, voice laced with frustration. "Noah, you keep saying you like me, acting all possessive, and then you go around kissing other people?"
Noah's eyes widened, realization dawning on his face. "Felix, wait, that's not—"
"I don't want to hear it." Felix snapped. "Get out. I don't want to see you right now."
Noah's expression flickered with pain. "Felix, listen to me—"
"OUT!"
Felix turned away, refusing to look at him.
After a long moment, Noah sighed deeply and walked out.
As Noah walked down the hall, his heart felt heavy.
He had been misunderstood. Felix had seen something that wasn't the full truth.
Dragons knew their mates the moment they saw them. And Felix was his mate.
His most precious person.
He had to fix this.
Felix heard a knock on his door again.
His anger flared.
Noah again?!
He yanked the door open, ready to yell.
"You bastard—!"
But the words died in his throat.
Standing there were Ashton and Samael.
Felix immediately froze before sighing. "Ashton… I'm sorry. I thought—"
Ashton's sharp gaze caught the hidden sadness in Felix's expression.
He glanced at Samael, then turned back to Felix. "What happened?"
Felix hesitated, but his eyes flickered to Samael, and suddenly, his walls went up again.
He didn't want another Flameheart brother here.
Ashton noticed. "Leave, Samael."
Samael looked at Felix, then at Ashton. He could see Felix's reluctance.
Without argument, he left.
Ashton stepped inside, closing the door behind him. He sat down beside Felix and spoke in a calm voice.
"Are you okay? What happened?"
Felix opened his mouth but hesitated.
Ashton didn't push him. Instead, he added, "If you want, you can tell me. I'll listen. Maybe I can help."
Felix stared at Ashton for a long moment.
Finally, he sighed.
Felix took a deep breath and told Ashton everything—how Noah suddenly confessed to him, how he reacted, and how he slapped Noah away.
Ashton listened quietly, his expression calm and thoughtful.
After Felix was done, Ashton hesitated before speaking. "I know Noah was wrong, but… maybe you should talk to him with a calm mind."
Felix narrowed his eyes. "Ashton, are you taking his side?"
Ashton shook his head immediately. "No, I'm not taking anyone's side. I just think… you should think about it first." He placed a hand on Felix's shoulder. "And no matter what decision you make, I'll be by your side."
Felix felt his anger cool slightly. It wasn't often that Ashton spoke so seriously about emotions.
Then, Ashton hesitated again before saying, "Um, Felix… you know, Samael said the same thing to me today."
Felix's eyes widened before he burst out, "These Flameheart brothers are so damn in sync! I knew it!"
He looked at Ashton closely. "So? What did you say to him? Are you two dating?"
Ashton looked away, uncertain. "No… I don't know how to answer him. I asked for some time." He sighed. "Felix, you're my best friend, so I trust you, and I wanted to share this with you."
Felix and Ashton stared at each other, realizing they were both in the same situation—dragons chasing after them with intense feelings.
Ashton finally stood up, brushing off his clothes. "Come on, let's go eat dinner. Tomorrow is our first class—we don't want to be late because of these things, right?"
Felix sighed but nodded, standing up as well. "Yeah, let's go."
For now, they would set aside their confusion and focus on what was ahead.
