After training, Daniel sat on the bench, catching his breath. His legs ached, his lungs burned.
The man from the stands was gone.
Sofia found him as he was changing his shoes. "You okay?"
Daniel nodded. "Just tired."
She didn't buy it. "You were acting weird again."
Daniel sighed. "I just—there was someone watching practice."
Sofia frowned. "Who?"
"I don't know. But he wasn't just a fan."
Sofia folded her arms. "Daniel, you need to stop ignoring this. If someone is following you, we need to do something."
Daniel shook his head. "No. If I act like I'm scared, they win."
Sofia sighed but didn't push. "Fine. But if something else happens, I want to know."
Daniel gave a small smile. "Deal."
But as he walked home, he couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was coming
