"Thank you so much for coming, Melanie," Marianna said warmly as she set the teacup down beside the papers and stared at the girl in front of her, almost unable to move her eyes. "I was really looking forward to this. I know it's a bit of an imposition, especially with your schedule… but I truly value your input."

Melanie gave a polite smile and shook her head, a smile on her face, which was more out of reflec than it was genuine as she continued, "It's no problem. I'm just not entirely sure I'm the best person for this sort of thing. I don't really have a lot of experience with interiors or layout choices. Not in this kind of setting, at least."

Marianna tilted her head, her eyes kind. "That might be exactly why I want your input."

Melanie looked up, slightly confused.
