Chapter 20: Killing

Su Hao had deeply experienced the helplessness of being a child. In many of his past reincarnations, he met with [Calamities] and died prematurely at the age of four or five. Only in rare instances did he live until six.

In his previous life, it was an incident at a kindergarten. But this time, it was a coyote attack.

The Coyote attack was far deadlier than the assailant from his previous life. Not only were coyotes more savage and skilled hunters, but the attack this time was also so sudden that he had no time to react. If it weren't for He Qingqing's warning, he wouldn't have noticed the coyote until it was already biting into his neck.

However, the current Su Hao was completely different from his past selves. Even though he was still just a four or five-year-old child, he had now mastered an extraordinary power known as [Blood Qi]. And with the use of [Blood Qi Enhancement Waves], the amount of Blood Qi in his body had reached its current physical limit.

In simple terms, he was now incredibly strong. Among children of the same age, he was undefeated. He could make a five-year-older kid cry and even chase a ten-year-older kid off. Even facing a full-grown adult, he wouldn't back down.

Now, he was facing a massive wild coyote lunging at him.

Su Hao was calm. "If I hadn't noticed your sneak attack, that'd be one thing. But now that I've seen you coming, you're going down!"

He turned, shifted his center of gravity, and got into position, clenching his right fist. He completed these actions in an instant, and just as the coyote's jaws were inches from his face, he swung his fist upwards in a brutal uppercut aimed at the coyote's jaw.

"Boom—crack∼!"

The Coyote's enormous mouth snapped shut instantly, sending a few broken teeth flying from its muzzle.

A tremendous force surged from its lower jaw, passing through its skull and causing the coyote's head to jerk upwards violently. The impact was so strong that the coyote's fur rippled in waves from the blow.

The wild coyote was sent flying by Su Hao's punch, spinning several times in the air before crashing heavily to the ground.

He Qingqing's jaw dropped open.

Snotty's and Fatty's jaw dropped open.

One punch had sent the Coyote flying! And this coyote was two to three times bigger than him! Was this for real? Was this really the same Xiangwu they knew? If an adult had done this, they wouldn't have been surprised. But for Xiangwu, who was younger than them by a year or two, to accomplish such a feat? It was beyond exaggeration.

He Qingqing couldn't help but think, if she were facing a coyote attack, all she would be able to do was scream and shake. Even if the wolf stood still for her to hit, she doubted she could hurt it.

Suddenly, she felt the gap between them was immense. Looking at the two larger boys beside her, she realized they were even more useless than she was. Was it really a good idea to keep hanging out with them every day?

For some reason, Su Hao's words echoed in her mind: "I don't play with idots!" So, they really were fools in his eyes. And then another thought: "I don't play with weaklings." So, they really were weaklings in his eyes too.

He Qingqing felt like she had grown up all at once, suddenly realizing that Xiangwu wasn't lying. He truly didn't want to play with them.

She instantly matured but felt a wave of sadness. Why was that?

Su Hao, unaware of the emotional impact his punch had on He Qingqing, saw the coyote getting up again, blood dripping from its mouth. It growled menacingly at him, but he calmly drew the short knife from his waist and held it in his hand.

Su Hao crouched low, facing off with the injured coyote.

The Coyote hesitated and began to back away. It wanted to run.

A smirk tugged at the corner of Su Hao's mouth. He stomped down hard, dirt flying up as he charged toward the wounded coyote.

With a low growl, the coyote stopped retreating. Its hind legs pushed off the ground as it pounced at Su Hao again. This time, it had learned its lesson and didn't open its jaws right away. Instead, it planned to wait until the last second to bite down on his throat.

Su Hao narrowed his eyes, his Blood Qi igniting. A surge of energy filled his body, giving him immense strength.

He was going to kill this coyote with a single strike, overcoming his first [Calamity]!

As the moment of contact came, Su Hao suddenly leaned back, dodging the coyote's snapping jaws. At the same time, he swung his short knife upward with all his might, slicing a deep gash across the coyote's throat.

The two passed each other.

Su Hao immediately rolled to his feet and turned to look at the coyote.

The coyote, with its throat slashed, lost its balance and crashed to the ground. It scrambled to its feet but remained vigilant, its eyes fixed on Su Hao.

Blood gushed from the long cut on its throat. Within moments, the coyote's strength drained away. It staggered and collapsed, soon dead.

The coyote's body lay right in front of He Qingqing and the others. Even though it was now just a corpse, the three of them still felt an overwhelming sense of fear.

A coyote that strong had been killed by Xiangwu with a single stroke. And here they were, only good at catching fish and playing in the mud, foolishly thinking they could defeat Xiangwu with a sneaky move. The thought made them feel utterly ridiculous.

Su Hao walked over to the coyote's body, kicked it twice, and said smugly, "Dead for good this time, huh?"

Then, he looked at the three of them and said with a huff, "Scared now? If I hadn't been here today, the three of you wouldn't have been enough to feed this coyote."

He Qingqing instinctively wanted to argue, but no words came out.

Snotty and Fatty were even worse off, their eyes filled with fear as they looked at Su Hao. From now on, they wouldn't dare oppose him.

"Let's go. I'll take you back," Su Hao said, turning around.

Suddenly, his pupils contracted, and his heartbeat skipped a beat. Two coyote had silently crept up behind him, preparing to strike.

Seeing they had been discovered, the two coyote immediately launched their attack, one leaping at his throat and the other aiming for his abdomen.

They were close! And fast! Su Hao was confident he could fend off one coyote's attack, but there was no way he could handle both at the same time. If he killed the one going for his throat, the other would definitely tear open his belly. His thick winter clothing wouldn't be enough to stop the coyote's sharp teeth.

What now?

Without time to think, Su Hao sidestepped, dodging the first coyote's attack. He seized the opportunity, slashing his short knife at the coyote's throat.

"Rip∼!"

Another deep wound opened, and the coyote followed the first one to its death.

But Su Hao didn't have time to deal with the second coyote.

The second coyote's jaws were already inches from him. He had no time to gather his strength or even dodge.

As he imagined his stomach being ripped open, Su Hao sighed in resignation. "One of a thousand ways for a reincarnator to die!"

«Wind Slash!»

Suddenly, a loud shout rang out beside his ear.

A flash of light sliced through the air, and the coyote that had leaped at Su Hao was instantly cut in half, its body falling to the ground in two lifeless pieces.

"Father!" Su Hao cried out in surprise and joy.

He was saved! The moment this man appeared beside him, Su Hao felt an unparalleled sense of security.

Indeed, in the early stages of life, you still have to rely on your Parents.

Not only did Su Hao breathe a sigh of relief, but Wu Yuntian did as well.

When he saw that first coyote about to bite into Su Hao's throat, he had been filled with despair, knowing he wouldn't make it in time to save him.

What he hadn't expected was that Su Hao had managed to kill one of the injured green-eyed coyotes on his own. It was beyond belief.

Fortunately, he had arrived just in time. His son, Wu Xiangwu, was unharmed. That was the best outcome.

The returning warriors, seeing that the children were safe, also breathed a sigh of relief.

Everything was fine!

But what exactly had happened here?

Everyone's eyes turned to Su Hao, and the bloody short knife in his hand.

At that moment, Lu Gao suddenly appeared, shouting, "Captain, I've already taken care of the two green-eyed coyotes that snuck into the village!"

Everyone turned to look at Lu Gao.

Then he noticed the three dead coyotes lying on the ground nearby, and Lu Gao choked on his words.
