Selena

(Chapter 103:Mira's POV)

The blood was still there.

Even after Lorenzo ordered the walls scrubbed, after the scent had faded from the air, I could feel it. The message wasn't just a threat—it was a promise.

Soon.

I traced my fingers over the cool stone of the balcony, trying to shake the weight pressing against my chest. The wind stirred my hair, but it wasn't the cold that made me shiver. It was the knowing. Erebus wasn't just reaching for me—he was getting closer.

And I was running out of time.

A soft knock pulled me from my thoughts. I turned as the door creaked open, revealing Selene. Her usual sharpness was dulled, her face pale in the moonlight.

"You felt it too," I said. It wasn't a question.

Selene stepped inside, closing the door behind her. "His power…" Her voice dropped to a whisper. "It's stronger here. Like this place is pulling him through."
