A Feast for the Apocalypse: Li Xuan's Journey

"Young Master Li, what kind of business are you in to have so much money?" Sun Xiaobiao immediately realized that this young, chubby man in front of him must have an impressive background. After all, it was hard to believe that someone could casually pull out 2 million yuan without a second thought. Even more shocking was that the restaurant, located in the city center, was worth over 10 million yuan. How could one not even remember that this property was theirs?

"This is incredible! What kind of wealth do you need to reach the point of being this careless?" Sun Xiaobiao thought, impressed by Li Xuan's nonchalance.

Li Xuan casually waved his hand, "I'm involved in some jewelry and gold business."

"I see," Sun Xiaobiao nodded. "Young Master Li, would I have the chance to work with you? I just sold my restaurant and I'm unemployed now. If you're willing to take me in, I'd be happy to serve you!"

"Sounds good. I don't have time to manage this restaurant. I was planning to hire a manager anyway. If you're interested, you can take that role and I'll pay you a monthly salary of 50,000 yuan," Li Xuan replied.

Sun Xiaobiao was taken aback. A monthly salary of 50,000 yuan? That was quite generous, especially considering the restaurant had been losing money for some time.

"Thank you, Young Master Li!" Sun Xiaobiao couldn't believe his luck. For someone who had been struggling with his restaurant's failure, this was a golden opportunity.

"Don't worry. Whether the restaurant makes money or not doesn't matter to me. I'm just buying it to have a private dining place," Li Xuan said. "The goal for this restaurant is simply to serve me well and prepare the best meals. Your job is to help me with that and to source supplies. Forget about whether it's profitable—I'm not in need of money."

Sun Xiaobiao was stunned. "Buy a restaurant just to have a personal dining place? You're going to lose money on purpose?"

Li Xuan simply shrugged. "I'm not worried. Just make sure to keep the food coming."

With a smile, Sun Xiaobiao agreed, and after a few hours, Li Xuan had his feast. Seventy dishes were packed up and loaded into his Rolls-Royce's trunk, costing him 13 million yuan. What a delightful day!

8:30 AM in the apocalyptic world. Li Xuan woke up in his spacious room. The weather outside had become even colder, with temperatures dropping to minus ten degrees Celsius. The sky was covered in thick clouds, casting the city in a dim, lifeless light.

Li Xuan pulled out a whole roasted suckling pig, braised duck wings, iron plate beef, steamed bass, crab, lotus root and pork rib soup, spicy fried chicken, steamed grouper, sauerkraut fish, steamed pork, stir-fried beef, fried bullfrog, and oil-braised shrimp—over seventy different dishes from his storage space. He began to enjoy his breakfast.

"Good grief, even before the apocalypse, I wouldn't dare order three dishes for myself!"

"Who would've thought that after two months of the apocalypse, I'm eating even better. Seventy dishes all for me, and I can even add thirty more for a full imperial banquet!"

"Suddenly, the apocalypse doesn't seem so bad. In fact, it feels pretty good!"

Li Xuan devoured the meal in a frenzy. Half an hour later, he was stuffed and covered in oil. He couldn't even finish it all. It seemed that having too much food was just another problem.

"This apocalypse is amazing!" he thought.

At 10:00 AM, Li Xuan, wearing his tactical jacket and carrying a mountain knife and axe, went out. The weather had gotten colder, and a heavy snowstorm seemed to be coming, which could result in freezing temperatures like two months ago. To avoid being stuck indoors, he decided to hunt as many zombies as possible today and collect zombie crystal cores to take advantage of the best possible evolution opportunities.

With the temperature dropping, zombies had become more sparse and sluggish, giving Li Xuan the perfect opportunity to strike.

"Roar!"

Li Xuan quickly encountered his first zombie. With one swift strike of his axe, the large zombie was decapitated in an instant. After checking, he found no crystal core.

Li Xuan proceeded with hunting more zombies.

By the time he killed the sixth zombie, he finally found a crystal core.

At that point, Li Xuan noticed a pattern. Zombies with crystal cores seemed smarter—they moved faster, their claws sharper, and they weren't as sluggish as the others. Though they looked similar, those with crystal cores were noticeably more dangerous.

Li Xuan decided to focus on hunting these more intelligent "level one zombies." However, these zombies were often accompanied by regular zombies, so he sometimes had to face three to five zombies at once.

This was essentially a one-on-five battle. But with the cold weather, the zombies' ragged clothing made them even slower, which gave Li Xuan an edge. After taking down five zombies at once, he became more confident in his abilities.
