The Unkillable Vampire

-Elara Voss:

For a long moment, he didn't move, his long white-silver hair was the only thing moving, following the breeze.

Neither did I.

I was frozen, pinned beneath the weight of his gaze.

His red eyes—so deep, so dark—dragged over me, and a fresh wave of fear coiled tight in my stomach.

Then—

His gaze dropped lower.

My breath caught.

I became painfully aware of my own body—of the cold air brushing over my exposed skin, of the ripped fabric barely clinging to me.

A new kind of fear slithered through me.

But—

Something changed.

His body stiffened. His jaw tensed.

And then—his eyes flicked away immediately… In an instant when he realized I wasn't covered.

Down.

Away from me.

The red bled out of his irises, shifting—dark, then lighter, then—

Blue.

A clear, icy blue.

His lips pressed into a tight line, and then, without a single word, he moved.
