As I entered a field far too similar to the one I left just now I can't help but look at the worn down wood sign on which the words "IX Vorgath's legion" are written.
"What is he ninth Vorgath's legion commander Fabian?" I ask Fabian as he turns towards me to answer.
'Maybe it's just common knowledge I shouldn't have asked for.' I ask myself while feeling nervous. Fabian could probably beat me in a few swings. It wouldn't be wise to be on his bad side.
"oh that's just the last remnants of the republican army. Now that the monarchy is set in place and the nobles dominate the lands there are rarely ever legions raised to fight. Always relying on worthless rabble to make up numbers nowadays. We have truely regressed from our once divine traditions." Fabian says with a look of nostalgia on his face.
'A republic? Is Vorgath this nation's name?' I am filled questions but don't dare to ask another question. Afterall my journey here has been way too smooth. I am a firm believer of Murphy's law and wouldn't dare relax my guard.
"So how am I going to train commander Fabian?" I ask Fabian as we continue on our way.
"You can just call me Sir Fabian. As for your training there are 2 instructors assigned by the count to teach you about warfare. After this month long training with those instructors you will be placed in the main training grounds to learn the tactical formations of the knight order. Learn well Ryan I hope alot from you." Fabian says as he pats my shoulder and continues to move forward.
Looking around I find a group of 9 knight's gathered around 2 individuals in commoners cloths or rather what I assume to be commoners clothes both of them holding a wooden training sword. It looks like those 2 are our instructors.
"Don't underestimate them because of their clothing. Both of them are veterans that have fought in the army for 60 years. Starting their army training from 14 and have recently retired in the last year."
"I will keep that in mind commander." I reply trying to sound as compliant as possible.
"Stay here for a moment Ryan. I'll be informing the instructors of your recruitment." Fabian says as he walks away.
I stand there looking at the 9 knight's as Fabian goes to discuss with he instructors.
After what feels like a few minutes I can hear footsteps coming towards me. The calm and peaceful environment leaves me with all he room to focus on my hearing. Living in a city I couldn't dream for such calm and peaceful days and now it's my new reality. Maybe I'm dreaming?
"So you are our newest recruit. Well I can already see I will need to beat the punctuality into you but regardless I'm leonard and this guy beside me is Franklin. Nice one meet you and bla bla bla now go and stand in the line." Leonard commands me with a slightly light hearted tone.
Leonard with his red hair and tall stature is quite noticeable even from afar for me. Franklin the other instructor beside him seems to be a timid and short individual with pitch black hair and azure eyes.
"Yes, sir!" I reply trying to seem as similar to soldiers I have seen in movies in my life as possible.
Standing in the line with 9 I look at Leonard as he grabs a wooden sword and comes towards us.
"Now that you're all here I am giving you he time it takes for me to swing this sword 100 times to take that damn armour off." Leonard says as he takes his first swing.
"Oh and if you fail you'll be running 10 Laps with that armour on." Leonard says with a smile on his face.
'Asking us to put on armour for training ad as soon as training begins we need to get plate armour off my ourselves? Is coordination between instructors and standing knight's soo poor or is this some form of training?'
