[ Chapter II (2): "CLEARING THE CONFUSION — NOT" ]

What the hell is exactly going on?

The exact same question that goes around the already chaotic mind of one Mr. Felix Harp as he stares at what is supposedly himself in the mirror, questioning his vision as he looks at his iris.

Touching it lightly, Felix could feel his eyes, confirming his suspicion as he now stares in fascination.

This is me...

He leaned on forward, his eyebrows furrowing slightly as he moved his right arm up and down, wanting to surely confirm that this is his body. In seeing no delay, he was sure that this is exactly his.

Yes, the color of his iris slightly unnerved him. Yes, the implication here is clear, he either died and now found himself in another body — which doesn't answer why his fingernails have slight ink in it, or, a god-like being took him out of his original universe and threw him in here.

And apparently clothed him in what is culturally accepted inside the Warhammer 40,000 Univ. or, whatever kind of clothing this is. Which sounds ridiculous, but weirdly enough being the most likely outcome out of the current hypothesis he has... So he'll go along with that.

[ "This shit is ugly..." ]

Ugly, yet beautiful. He doesn't like the color purple, he finds it an edgy color. Symbol of royalty? My ass. For him his favorite color has to be black, yet, the motherfucking god-like being here changed his eye color from the most beautiful into this abomination they call purple.

Not fitting at all. Stomping his feet on the warm yet cold floor underneath him, Felix felt annoyed. Wanting to gouge out his eyes if he could... Yeah, no he wouldn't.

[ MISSION NO. 1: LABORO LIGHT EXPLORATION ]

[ COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS: EXPLORE 100% OF THE SPACE SHIP YOU FOUND YOURSELF IN, AND PERHAPS UNCOVER SECRETS ON THE WAY ]

[ GOOD LUCK! ]

[ "Laboro?" ] A trail of words, longer than before appeared in front of him. One not visible to the mirrors, but to his one and true field vision, this was an anomaly.

The words in appearing caused Felix to confirm his previous hypothesis, he is in a new foreign land, plausibly in a new body, and that this fictional universe is now real for him.

He doesn't hate it that much as he should, except for the eye color change that slightly unnerved him. Felix didn't felt anything wrong at all, perhaps the fear, and implication that the multiverse theory is plausibly correct, omnipotent-beings existing hadn't dug its claws yet into the heart of his.

Thus causing Felix to feel calm, except for the slightly weakening knee that he rarely feels, faster than normal beating heart, and slight sweat on his brows. Nothing else shows that he is scared of having been transported into another world.

Instead, he thought of it as a nice vacation. At the very damn least he can escape his suffocating government 9-to-5 job without disappointing his family, why? Because he probably just disappeared, or outright died in his sleep in his original universe, that being reason enough for him to not be disowned.

Instead what he did is enjoy this little vacation, that starts with him reading the contents floating about in front of him. Furrowing his brows, he could see a task by the... system? Yes, in those stories they call this thing the system, and now he has one, connected to him apparently.

And in that system, it shows him the first-ever task he have to do. Explore Laboro Light — Laboro likely being the name of the ship he is in, and from what he could make it out could possibly be a small ship. Meaning this mission being likely to be easy.

Seconds later, after having re-read the floating words, it disappeared without a trace. Leaving only Felix to ponder. What the hell is exactly going on?!

But the hypothesis he came up with in his mind seems to be a good start. Okay, okay. Let's start from the beginning, create a plausible reason why he is here;

First of all, he died, in his sleep probably due to overexertion, him having taken home work from his office. He slept soundly, dying on his desk.

Secondly, his soul was taken by an omniscient being and placed into another vessel, or his body was mimicked into another universe and that is where his soul was placed.

Thirdly, he woke up, the system having been implanted in his head, or inside his soul, or probably in his eyes which allowed him to see words coming from the said omnipotent being that caused all of this.

And that is the theory he has, the one he currently believes in this short span that he is awake. That being enough for him, for the moment. Sure his death scared him slightly, who would have thought he'd die a virgin. Nonetheless, it didn't bother him as much as it could.

Turning to his right he noticed the bed he woke up in and couldn't find anything anomalous, only seeing the bed messy from him having woken up, the covers uneven due to it being thrown half-heartedly to the side.

Then right behind him to the bookshelves containing books, a good place to start. Then in front of him, in the desk, and glass that seems to have nothing in it. Looking inside the drawer, his suspicion was confirmed — empty, except for a small metallic lighter.

Opening the lighter, Felix could see a normal-looking lighter as he flicked it open. The orange-reddish small flame appeared in front of him, as the fire burnt him slightly, a good deviation from what the cold air around him gives.

Felix even though not a smoker slowly pocketed the thing, having found a pocket inside his dull-looking uniform; [ "I will definitely need this." ] as he thought of ways he could use it, start a fire, cook food, light up the way, etc.

In a universe he isn't familiar with, the more prepared he is, the more likely he'll survive. And that is a good thing. Over preparedness is better than under preparedness, something which his father kept saying at the point of him being annoyed by it.

Felix kept scanning the drawers, opening them, but couldn't find anything more. All emptied, except for one which he couldn't open, having been locked with the key nowhere in sight.

Sighting, he turned his gaze to the side. Looking at the poster with both men and women dressed in combat dull grey gear, slogans of [ FOR THE IMPERIUM ] [ FOR THE IMPERIUM ] [ FOR THE IMPERIUM ] repeating.

Him in not knowing who the fuck the Imperium is furrowed his brows slightly, those posters feeling a little bit like propaganda to him. For the Imperium? Why? He don't know, but he assumed that it is a faction inside this universe, one that plausiblely owns this ship — the Laboro Light.

Or the owner of this room, probably someone else, or this body that he now occupies is a fan of the so-called Imperium. Or a soldier in it, perhaps he has this just for decoration sake, who knows. Definitely not Felix.

Looking at the three posters slightly, Felix didn't see any deviation other than the color. One is primarily in the shade of green, one in red, one in blue. Other than those changes, nothing, same propaganda, same slogan, same picture — [ "Huh... Nice design." ] he snickers slightly before moving to the book shelves.
