# KAKASHI'S FLASHBACK
Kakashi sat on the stairs in front of their little house, reading a book when his mother sat beside him.
"Won't you play with your sister?" She asked. Ako was a beautiful woman in her late twenties, her long silky hair was white, blending perfectly with her sky-blue eyes. She always had a gentle smile on her face.
"I still have to finish this book" Kakashi sighed. "And besides she always plays rough"
Kakashi had lived his whole life in a forest, he had never been able to tell where in particular they stayed, and neither had he left there. He only has a few memories of when they lived with people, but after his father went missing a few years ago, they moved out for some unknown reason.
Kakashi's mother, Ako, hasn't said anything about his father ever since, and Kakashi didn't ask. Since when they started living in a forest, a barrier serves as their shield against the outside world, Kakashi sometimes asks Ako about leaving, but she says they are too special and the world is too dangerous.
Even though Kakashi was not happy with her response, Kakashi's younger sister, Tokah was quite happy to be special. Kakashi had suspected that it was either she was running away from something or they were locked up there because of something she did, that part of his suspicion was proven wrong because Ako goes outside the barrier on most days and usually returns late or till the next day.
Kakashi didn't mind at all, as long as his family was together, he had vowed to protect them.
Once in a while, a strange man who introduced himself as their uncle usually comes to visit, but he always comes around when Ako is not with them. He had earlier told them not to tell their mother. What was even stranger about the man was that their mother had never mentioned him even though he seemed to know a lot about her, and even their abilities. The man has taken his time teaching them how to harness their special power.
Their mother had always warned them not to go anywhere close to the barrier, especially at night because of the demons that lurk in the shadows.
But one day, Tokah asked Kakashi about going to the barrier.
"Big brother!?" Tokah called out.
Just like their mother, Tokah had long silky white hair with pale blue eyes, she was petite and looked fragile even though she was stronger than Kakashi, she was mostly cheerful but quickly got angry.
"Hmm?" Kakashi answered, sitting on a wooden chair as he picked up his book to read just after his meal.
"Since mom will not be back until tomorrow morning," Tokah said carefully, choosing her words. It made Kakashi wonder what she was trying to say. "Let's go to the barrier."
Their mother had earlier left the barrier till the next day.
"No!!!!" Kakashi yelled, and her expression changed; it was like she was about to cry. "Umm... umm. I mean, Mom said we shouldn't, especially at night, and look, it's already evening. They are demons out there!"
Kakashi said trying to scare his sister out of the idea. But he knew he couldn't blame her, she was still a child and was extremely curious, even though she wanted to in the barrier. Kakashi couldn't deny the fact that he also wanted to see what their prison looked like up close.
"Don't worry, with you by my side and my lightening technique, we'll be fine."
.
.
.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Kakashi said as they both strolled to the barrier. He didn't want to let Tokah go, but knowing her, she might run off to the barrier anyway, so at least, it was better if he came along. "According to what I've learned, the barrier covers a 5km radius. How can we walk to the end before nightfall?"
"Good thing that you asked; I've been working on my new lightening technique, lightening flash!"
"Lightning flash???" Kakashi repeated under his breath. He knew Tokahhads had been working on a new technique, but he could never have expected her to perfect it so soon. "You already perfected it? And I'm still stuck trying to control my energy."
"I'll go on ahead. You didn't want to go to the barrier in the first place; why don't you wait for her for me?" Tokah's body started releasing lightning blots and in an instant, she was gone.
Lightning flash is a technique that utilizes energy to reduce body weight and increase speed, making the user move as fast as lightning. It has one disadvantage, which is that if a body surpasses the limit, it will break. Kakashi was told by his uncle not to use it since his karma energy was unstable.
Kakashi sat down underneath a cherry blossom tree not far from the spot Tokah had left him, he had thought it would be safe since it was still close to the house. Besides, he usually comes to rest or take a nap while he is trying to stay away from Tokah, and for some reason, he always feels better.
Tokah came back hours later; it was already nightfall, but something was wrong with her. She looked pale like something bad had happened to her.
"Tokah, what happened?" Kakashi said as she stood up. "You were taking too long to come back and I was starting to get worried"
Tokah didn't respond.
"Tokah!, Answer me!" Kakashi yelled. "You're starting to scare me"
But she didn't reply to him, she walked past Kakashi and headed straight to the house. Kakashi ran after her and held her arm, trying to figure out what was wrong but she caught his arm and twisted it before throwing him against a tree. Kakashi hit his back on the tree and fell on his chest and coughed out blood, immediately Tokah turned to him, her eyes widened and she suddenly gained consciousness, she ran to her older brother and helped him up, with tears in her eyes.
"Big brother, are you okay?" She held his arm and tried to pull him up.
Kakashi managed to stand up, and with a smile on his face, he patted her head.
"I'm fine" Kakashi wiped the blood from his mouth. "You've gotten stronger"
"If getting stronger means I'm going to hurt you then I'm not going to train anymore," Tokah said with tears dropping down her eyes.
Tokah always cries if anything bad happens to Kakashi and he can't blame her, they started living in the forest before she was born, so she grew up without having friends or meeting anybody.
"There, there. I'm fine, so don't cry" Kakashi said as he patted his little sister's head.
This only made Tokah cry more as she hugged Kakashi.

They finally got back to their safe little house, Kakashi asked her about what she saw at the barrier.
"Big brother, I made a friend outside the barrier," she happily informed him.
"Outside the barrier! Who is this friend of yours?" Kakashi asked, he sounded a little bit cautious.
"It was a young lady; she said her name was Usagi" Tokah smiled.
"Usagi?, that's a weird name" Kakashi teased.
"You're weird! Anyways, She said she lives in a town close to the forest. She comes into the forest with her father to cut wood and sell it to the villagers," Tokah explained. "Guess what, brother?"
"What?" Kakashi asked, confused. He was expecting Tokah to say something about her strange actions, but she didn't.
"She was alone at that moment, so she told me some things about the town. And she said if we meet next time, she'll show me around"
"You know we're not allowed to go outside?? How were you able to go out in the first place?"
"Simple!!" She shouted proudly. "I tried to touch the barrier, but my hand just went through it as if there was nothing there."
