Dangerous Yet Fascinating

Shaan then looked at the second jade slip.

[The Path To Eternal Damnation- This is a vicious technique where you absorb the souls of other living beings for the growth of your own consciousness, with this practice your soul will become stronger over time and you will also be able to hide your cultivation realm.]

Shaan's heartbeat increased, things were getting heated pretty fast.

He knows there are three paths in cultivation- body cultivation, energy cultivation (which basically includes normal Qi gathering) and soul cultivation where the divine consciousness is strengthened.

The above methods belonged to body and soul cultivation respectively which were only available to those inner as well as core disciples.

"The other two techniques seem to be different?"

Shaan, with a confused mind, opened the remaining jade slips.

[Resentment Mirror! - How can a top demon be without their signature weapon? This mirror contains the resentments and obsessions of all living beings who are thoroughly tortured. Just hold your mirror high and let those ghosts drown all your enemies.]

"This is a weapon, it seems quite vile just by the sound of the introduction, what a damn mirror!"

Shaan felt shocked before continuing to read the last slip.

[Undead Monarch! - After embarking on the road of devil arts, what's the need to rely on others? Using this technique, have sufficient mastery of the corpses. Let those undead rise again and listen to the command of their supreme lords. Even after death let your corpses be eternal slaves.]

"Oh Gosh! What taboo techniques I have read, each of these require unethical killing and torturing, no wonder all these damn evil sects were destroyed."

Shaan spoke without hesitation.

"Even if one wants to practise any of these demonic arts, he can't kill or sacrifice so many people without being unnoticed."

Suddenly, as if remembering something, his mind had a bold idea.

Shaan's face instantaneously flushed with excitement.

 "But I am different...…"

'I have that lotus petal which helps me to jump to the zombie world back and forth.'

 'What if?'

'What if I used those zombies instead of living beings? In theory, it may be feasible?'

'But, I need to personally verify it! If it's successful I may make a fortune!'

Thinking of a feasible plan, like a fool, Shaan started laughing foolishly.

Without wasting any further seconds, he unlocked the restrictions on the four jade slips and the entire information regarding the process, materials, detours and other miscellaneous things flooded his mind.

"Okay, we have been here for a long time, let's leave or someone may become suspicious."

Shaan stepped out of the warehouse like some depressed boy, after all, to deceive someone, the acting needed to be flawless.

 "Elder, here's your token."

He obediently handed the restriction opening token to the old elder guarding outside and politely bowed down in gratitude.

The elder slowly opened his eyes and took the token Shaan threw at him.

He played with it in his hands for a couple of minutes before opening his mouth.

"Boy, after assessing it, I found out you took nothing from the first floor, but instead wasted your time in the Research Podium which houses those taboo skills."

With a stern face, he reprimanded in a stern voice.

"Naive fool, I tell you in advance even if you have read all those demonic jade slips, it's of no use. Those things are unholy and a shortcut in the way of practice. As shortcuts, those ways are flawed and only harm yourself."

"And last thing, if anyone found someone practising those evil techniques they will be caught on the spot and they will be skinned alive while their soul is burned in eternal fire, I hope you are smart and know what to do!"

"Okay, now get out! I need to have some sleep."

The elder shooed Shaan away, but before ordering her to leave, he was kind enough to remind her of all the dangers if she did something bad.

But Shaan didn't care. It was not like he was going to slaughter some mortal city.

He had his own little thoughts.

"But before departing, I need to first make sufficient preparations."

Shaan ran away to some of his former friends.

It took a full three hours, but after some nagging and empty promises, he managed to amass three middle-grade cultivation stones.

"With this much money, I should be able to buy what I need!"

Like a religious fanatic, he ran to the sect's marketplace.

He quickly found some cheap artifacts and stuff he was looking for.

One eye-catching artifact was the 'Ever tying rope', which could tie a large number of people together. Others were materials to arrange some ready-made formations along with their instruction manuals and some miscellaneous herbs.

There was also a set of offensive and defensive talismans.

"Okay, the preparation seems to be sufficient. It's now time to test the hypothesis."

Holding a bag full of supplies, Shaan rushed back to his cave.

First, he spent sufficient time reading all the instruction manuals regarding formations, then put a makeshift backpack on his back containing everything.

"Now everything depends on my luck."

Communicating with the lotus petal suspended in his consciousness, he disappeared altogether.
