"Little Elian's Diary"

Elian's Perspective

Maintaining consciousness in this body is pure torment. What the hell is this feeling? To be awake while wetting my diaper? I am the Great King—I have never experienced humiliation on this scale before!

I've never felt such conflicting emotions. In moments of safety, when my mother, Celestia—with her long silver hair that falls to the middle of her back and her radiant, warm white skin—embraces me, I am overwhelmed by comfort and love, as if the entire world paused at her hug. Each time she holds me, a deep warmth seeps into my heart, and I breathe in a sensation I've never known before.

As for my father, Garin, he is a man with a strong build and a deep, resolute voice that exudes experience and determination. From what I've gathered from his conversations with my mother, he is an adventurer—a job that seems so strange in this world: slaying monsters, exploring uncharted territories, and performing tasks I don't fully understand yet. He appears to be a formidable fighter. However, what intrigues me even more is my mother… I sense there's a secret surrounding her, something she hides from me, though I have no proof yet.

And what of power in this strange world? I suppose I have some idea about it from the bedtime stories my mother used to tell me.

My name is Elian Everin, and in my previous life I could make an army of millions kneel at my feet with just my presence. But that means nothing compared to my greatest achievement now—finally, I can crawl! Ha ha!

I crawled over to the mirror set beside the door and caught a glimpse of myself. I share my mother's hair color—white, but even lighter and brighter—and my eyes are a light, sparkling blue. I look rather cute, I suppose; I don't know what I'll become in the future, but as long as I'm not fat, nothing else matters!

I then crawled into a room filled with numerous books—what appears to be a library or study. After reading through some of them (and, of course, they're written in the same language as my own world, which I find very strange—but that's beside the point), I learned some important things. For one, this world has the same system of governance I know: a king rules alongside his royal family. I also read that these ruling families have existed in each kingdom for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. The difference between me and them is that I built my own kingdom by my own hands—I am the one who earned a kingdom bearing my name and my family name, making it the strongest kingdom of its era.

Then I found another book with a somewhat green leather cover, inscribed in faded golden letters: "Fundamentals of Magic". According to this text, magic here is similar to the cosmic energy of my old world—but in this realm it is called "mana," with some notable differences. It appears that the ability to control mana is largely hereditary, though there are, of course, exceptions where parents cannot sense mana while their children can use magic. It seems that those who are able to feel mana have their abilities awakened between the ages of ten and eighteen, marked by the formation of a "mana core" in the middle of the chest, right beside the human heart.

Flipping through several pages, I discovered how people in this world harness mana. There are those called Enhancers and those known as Mages.

Enhancers—the majority—move the mana within themselves to bolster their bodies or weapons.

Mages, on the other hand, cast spells on their surroundings or on specific targets.

Each group has its own strengths and weaknesses. Enhancers boast incredible offensive power and exceptional agility and speed, but their attacks have a limited range. Mages, conversely, wield the power to alter their environment and cast long-range spells—a power that is, in some ways, almost unfathomable. Unlike Enhancers, who channel mana from their core to their bodies, a mage must draw mana from the external surroundings in addition to the mana they generate themselves, so as to reshape or subjugate the environment at will.

It appears that my father is an Enhancer—since he wields a sword and seems strong, likely above average. I've even heard that my mother uses a special kind of magic, though I have no idea what it is.

Flipping… flipping… flipping…

Mmm… Special magic is divided into several categories:

There are the Healers, also known as the Celestials, who use a rare form of magic—the art of healing.

Then there are the Dimensionalists (commonly called Dimens, a shortened form derived from "Dimensions"), who are extremely rare—only two or three exist on the entire continent—and possess many formidable abilities, such as instantaneous teleportation.

There are also the Dual-Element Mages,

And the Arcanians, who wield higher elements such as lightning, ice, darkness, gravity, and even more; they, too, are exceedingly rare.

It appears there are even types of magic yet to be discovered.

Flipping, flipping, flipping…

"Now, this is the important part."

(Fundamentals of Magic and Mages)

The first step is to gather mana from the sky or the surrounding environment and purify it within your mana core, then merge it into a magical staff or talisman to control and shape the ambient mana as desired. The stronger the talisman, the longer it takes to attract and purify the mana…

Because using magic requires natural mana, it seems a mage is drawn to one of the basic elements (water, fire, earth, wind) and must train until he masters that element.

"Man, this power is completely different from the force in my previous world—where power was used to enhance the body or something similar to casting spells, and cosmic energy was a force of chaos and destruction."

"What does this say?"

To distribute mana throughout the body requires a specific kind of insight and an intimate knowledge of every tiny part of one's body. Proper distribution of mana in the mana channels takes years and years of training—both physical and mental—to master.

"In the early stages, there isn't much difference between Enhancers with natural elemental affinity and those who rely solely on their internal energy. Since enhancing doesn't require absorbing natural mana, they can fight continuously without needing an external source. However, they lack the flexibility that elemental users possess. On the other hand, those with natural elemental affinity eventually become superior, as they can absorb energy from their surroundings—granting them broader control and greater power in battle—unlike those with only internal energy who remain confined by their bodily limits."

Mmm… Mmm… "What exactly do they mean by 'backlash' or 'mana deviation'?"

"Backlash" or "mana deviation" is a phenomenon that occurs when one exceeds the natural limits of magical energy use. For Enhancers, this happens when their mana core is exhausted, resulting in severe physical pain that intensifies in proportion to the damage inflicted on the core. For Mages, it occurs when spells are overused or when one attempts to cast a spell beyond one's capacity, leading to a disruption in the flow of mana within their bodies. This can result in serious injuries or even the loss of magical control.

I chuckled, returned the book to its place, and shifted my position. I lay on my back, staring out the opposite window, trying to make sense of all this information. There is a similarity—albeit slight—between the energy center of my old world and the mana core here. In this world, people discover their power during adolescence, whereas in my previous world, children could sense cosmic energy all around them. If they managed to gather that energy in the upper center of their bodies, that's when their energy center would form.

"But the question is, will I be able to form a mana core if I do what I did in my previous world?" I mused.

Ha ha— I once destroyed an entire house when I managed to form my energy center for the first time in my old world.

"Now, let's move on to the important part."

I began testing the sensation of mana within the body of this child—who is about a year old or younger.

"Ahhhh… Mmmm… Mmmm…"

… Wait, what the hell?

Why is my diaper so full?

It seems that my journey to become the greatest person in the world will be delayed just a little.

"ma… ma…"

"Save me, please, Mom!"
