As his crazed eyes raised the chainsaw in his hands,
a group of people burst in from behind. I caught sight of my brother's silhouette and finally let out a sigh of relief. My family must have seen this livestream.
Dane might not care, but they certainly would care about me!
Tears streamed down my cheeks. When I heard my brother's voice, my taut nerves began to relax slightly.
I thought I was surely going to die.
My eyelids kept drooping. Just before I was about to pass out, amid the chaos and fighting, my brother grabbed me and pulled me out. Only then did I realize this man wasn't even abroad.
He was in a sealed underground room, merely a few dozen yards from where Dane had prepared the fireworks show.
He set off fireworks across the whole city just to make Seraphina smile, while I was being tortured in this dark, confined basement. I dragged my battered body along.
At the last moment, my brother suddenly exerted force and said, "Felicity, run! Go forward and don't look back."I strain with all my might to crawl out, not daring to fall behind.
My mind is in utter chaos. As I use my last ounce of strength to escape from the basement, I finally breathe in the fresh outside air.
My appearance must be terrifying, as everyone around me backs away. I have no energy left to move forward, and as I collapse, I see Dane getting out of his car.
He went to pick up a cake for Seraphina, and I happen to fall right in front of him.
Dane kicks me away with his foot.
When I reach out to speak, he angrily says, "Get lost, you filthy beggar! Don't dirty Seraphina's new dress."
My heart bleeds silently, my disheveled hair covering my eyes.
Seraphina, wearing a pure white little dress, crouches down, her eyes filled with condescension.
"Felicity, I recognized you right away. How does it feel to be so despised by the one you love? If I were you, I'd have divorced him already. What's the point of staying with someone who doesn't love you?"
Seraphina stomps hard on my hand, telling me to get lost quickly.Suddenly, Dane turned around and asked Seraphina with concern what was wrong.
He saw the woman fall to the ground, and Seraphina said pitifully, "I just wanted to help her up, but who knew..."
"Get out of here, you filthy thing!"
With that, Dane kicked me away. I struggled to get up, but he knocked me unconscious with another kick.
As they were leaving, I heard Dane's caring tone as he asked Seraphina if she was hurt or if I had soiled her.
How lovely, Dane. So Seraphina has always been the one in your heart. Why did you deceive and trick me?
Dane, you brought this on yourself!
