Chapter 4

I didn't turn around, just speaking softly with my back to her.

"The child is yours. Whether you want to keep it or not has nothing to do with me. I also didn't force you to get rid of this baby."

Seraphina could be said to have an obsession with children.

Long ago, she had been diagnosed as having difficulty conceiving. Seeing her colleagues around her slowly having families with both sons and daughters, she too had felt a longing.

We had both tried to conceive, but all attempts ended in failure.

Gradually, Seraphina no longer wanted to bring up the subject of children, and I, due to work reasons, never mentioned it again.

Now that she was able to conceive, it wasn't just because it was Archer's child, but perhaps more because it fulfilled her wish.

This child was now her life. She might only have this one chance in her lifetime. I didn't believe she would abort it so easily.

Sure enough, after I said this, Seraphina fell completely silent.
