It was a crisp autumn afternoon, and the Greenwood Unified Elementary School football team was about to play its first match of the season. The air buzzed with excitement as the players warmed up, their bright red jerseys standing out against the lush green grass. Parents, students, and teachers filled the sidelines, eager to witness the start of what promised to be an electrifying season.
But all eyes were on one player in particular—Richard Collin.
Ever since he joined the team, Richard had been the talk of the school. Some called him a prodigy; others simply called him unstoppable. But today, as he stood at the center of the field, bouncing on his toes in anticipation, he wasn't thinking about the whispers or the hype. All he was thinking about is winning.
On the opposite side stood the Maplewood Crest Elementary School football team, dressed in their yellow jerseys. They had firsthand experience of Richard's skill from last season, but this year, they had no idea what was coming.
The referee blew the whistle.
The game had begun.
Richard wasted no time. The moment the ball reached his feet, he danced past two defenders as if they weren't even there. His movements were fluid, effortless—almost too fast for the opposition to react. Gasps rippled through the crowd as he charged toward the goal, his eyes locked on his target.
The goalkeeper rushed out to meet him, desperate to block the shot. But Richard remained calm. One delicate chip.
The ball floated over the goalkeeper's outstretched hands and nestled into the back of the net.
1-0, Greenwood Unified.
The crowd erupted. Richard grinned, celebrating with a perfectly executed backflip, while his teammates rushed to congratulate him.
Maplewood Crest tried to reset, but Richard was everywhere.
Just minutes later, he intercepted a midfield pass and immediately launched a counterattack. A quick exchange of passes between the Greenwood unified left Richard in space just outside the penalty box. The goalkeeper was slightly off his line—a mistake.
Richard took his shot.
The ball rocketed into the top corner.
2-0.
The Yellow Jersey were rattled. Their coach shouted instructions, urging them to press higher up the field. But that only played into Richard's hands.
In the 10th minute, he won a free kick just outside the penalty box. A perfect opportunity.
He stepped up, eyes locked on the goal, and took a few measured steps back. As the Yellow jersey's wall jumped, he struck the ball cleanly.
The ball curled over the wall, dipped just under the crossbar, and ripped into the net.
3-0, Greenwood Unified.
The goalkeeper didn't even move.
The second half continued in the same fashion. In the 20th minute, Richard received a pass at the edge of the box. He turned his defender inside out before firing a low shot into the corner.
4-0.
By now, the Maplewood Crest players looked defeated. But Richard wasn't done yet.
In the final moments of the match, he picked up the ball near midfield and did what he did best—destroy defenses. He dribbled past one, then two, then three defenders. The goalkeeper was the last obstacle.
Richard didn't even hesitate.
With a swift feint, he glided past the keeper as if he wasn't there. With a light tap, he sent the ball rolling into the empty net.
5-0. Game
The final whistle blew, and Richard's teammates swarmed him in celebration. Five goals. A statement performance that would be remembered for years.
"You were amazing out there!" a teammate shouted.
Richard smirked. "Of course, I was."
But deep down, he knew the truth. He wasn't playing against real competition yet, he was only playing with children. This was just the beginning.
As the crowd cheered and Greenwood Unified celebrated, Richard looked beyond the field, beyond the school. Bigger challenges awaited. Bigger stages.
And when that time came, he would be ready.
After sometime Richard started getting ready for second match.
The Second Match begin.
Greenwood Unified carried their momentum into the next match, and once again, Richard once again stole the show. This time, the final score was 4-0, with all four goals coming from him.
Two games. Nine goals.
Richard Striker wasn't just another elementary school footballer.
He was something else entirely.
