A Night At Home

Chapter 4: A Night at Home

Rian Musk stepped into his luxurious penthouse apartment, dropping his keys onto the sleek glass console table. Joey, his personal assistant, followed closely behind, still typing away on his phone.

As they made their way to the kitchen, Joey looked up, "Hey, boss, how was your meeting with Alex Widget?"

Rian nodded, pouring himself a glass of scotch. "It went well. She's interested in the proposal."

Joey raised an eyebrow. "That's great news. What's the plan?"

Rian took a sip of his drink, his eyes narrowing as he thought about the reason behind the collaboration. He wanted to expand Musk Industries' reach into the music industry, and Widget Labels was the perfect partner.

Just then, Ethan, Rian's friend, walked in, a charming smile spreading across his face. "Hey, Rian! Hey, Joey!"

Rian raised an eyebrow. "What brings you here, Ethan?"

Ethan grinned mischievously. "I heard there was a free meal to be had. Plus, I wanted to hear about your meeting with Alex Widget."

Joey chuckled. "You're just interested in hearing about Alex, period."

Ethan laughed. "Well, maybe a little. So, what's she like?"

Rian's expression turned slightly possessive, but he tried to brush it off. "She's...professional."

Ethan teased, "Oh, come on, Rian! You can't leave me hanging like that."

Rian's eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn't say anything. Joey noticed the subtle change in Rian's demeanor and raised an eyebrow.

Ethan continued to tease Rian, trying to get more information out of him. Rian remained calm, but Joey could sense a hint of possessiveness beneath the surface.

As the night wore on, Ethan regaled them with stories of his latest conquests, but Rian's mind kept wandering back to Alex. He couldn't help but feel a sense of intrigue, and he found himself wondering what she was like outside of the office.

Joey noticed Rian's distraction and shot him a knowing look. Rian's expression remained neutral, but Joey could sense that something was brewing beneath the surface.

As the evening drew to a close, Ethan eventually left, and Rian was alone with his thoughts. Joey remained nearby, keeping a discreet eye on his boss.

Rian's mind wandered back to Alex, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He was determined to make the collaboration work, not just for the benefit of Musk Industries, but also to see more of Alex.

As he stood up, his eyes locked on the city skyline, Joey followed his gaze, sensing that something was brewing beneath the surface.

"Everything okay, boss?" Joey asked, his voice low.

Rian nodded, his expression unreadable. "Yeah, everything's fine."

But as he turned to head to bed, Joey couldn't shake the feeling that Rian's interest in Alex went far beyond a simple business collaboration. Joey had seen Rian's possessive streak before, and he knew that it was only a matter of time before Rian made his move.

As Rian disappeared into his bedroom, Joey couldn't help but wonder what the future held for Rian and Alex. One thing was certain, however: Rian Musk was not a man to be underestimated, and Joey had a feeling that Alex was about to find that out firsthand.
