11. An Unexpected Announcement

Miss Alex sat in her office, sipping her morning coffee and reviewing the day's schedule. Rachel, her assistant, walked in with a curious expression.

"Miss Alex, I have some unexpected news," Rachel said, hesitating.

Alex raised an eyebrow. "What is it, Rachel?"

Rachel took a deep breath. "Your parents are here to see you. They said it's urgent."

Alex's eyes narrowed. What could her parents want? They rarely visited her at the office, and when they did, it was usually for something important.

As she walked out of her office to meet her parents, Alex felt a sense of trepidation. What was going on?

Her parents were waiting for her in the conference room, their faces serious. Her mother, elegant as always, was seated in one of the chairs, while her father stood by the window, looking out at the city.

"Alex, we need to talk to you about something important," her mother said, her voice firm.

Alex's heart sank. What had she done now?

"It's about your future, Alex," her father added, his eyes locked on hers.

Alex felt a sense of unease. What did they mean?

And then, her mother dropped the bombshell.

"Alex, we've arranged for you to marry Rian Musk."

Miss Alex's eyes widened in shock. What?! Marry Rian Musk? The Rian Musk? The billionaire CEO of Musk Industries?

She felt like she had been punched in the gut. Marry Rian Musk? No way. She didn't even know him!

"Mother, Father, what are you talking about?" Alex demanded, trying to keep her cool. "I'm not going to marry some man I've never met."

Her parents exchanged a glance, and for a moment, Alex thought she saw a flicker of uncertainty in their eyes.

"Alex, this is a great opportunity for you," her father said, his voice firm. "Rian Musk is a powerful and influential man. Marrying him will secure your future and the future of our family."

Alex felt a surge of anger. Secure her future? What about her happiness?

"I don't care about Rian Musk's money or influence," Alex said, her voice cold. "I care about my own happiness, and marrying some stranger is not going to make me happy."

Her parents looked at each other again, and this time, Alex saw a glimmer of determination in their eyes.

"Alex, this is not a request," her mother said, her voice firm. "This is a necessity. You will marry Rian Musk, and you will make this marriage work."

Alex felt a chill run down her spine. What was going on? Why were her parents being so insistent?

And then, it hit her. This wasn't just about her parents or Rian Musk. This was about the future of her family's company.

Her parents were willing to sacrifice her happiness to secure the future of their business.

Alex felt a wave of anger and resentment wash over her. She was trapped, and she didn't know how to escape.

As she stood there, frozen in shock and anger, Alex knew that her life was about to change forever.
