Chapter 16: There Is a Reason Why Feng Tingshen Would Be Enchanted by Her
"Really?" Lin Wu smiled, "Of course, it's true."
Then she asked, "How was your day at school today? Did you get along well with the other kids?"
They chatted happily, exchanging words back and forth. Feng Tingshen rarely interrupted, calmly eating with his knife and fork. Unaware of their actual relationship, the waiter assumed they were a family of three and cast an envious glance at Lin Wu.
At this moment, Feng Jingxin received a video call from Rong Ci. The call had been requested that morning. However, now she was enjoying chatting with Lin Wu so much that she didn't want to end the call. That morning, when she saw Rong Ci hugging other children, she felt unhappy. But during class, the teacher explained that parents love their own children the most, and every child is unique and irreplaceable in their mother's heart. This reassured her.
Seeing that Feng Jingxin hadn't answered the call, Rong Ci grew concerned and called the homeroom teacher. The teacher was in the children's rest room and, upon understanding the situation, said with a smile, "Xinxin is fine, she's chatting via video with her father and some aunt... I'll go over and tell her—"
"No need to trouble yourself," Rong Ci interrupted. She realized Feng Jingxin was chatting with Lin Wu and Feng Tingshen. Meaning, Feng Tingshen was likely having dinner with Lin Wu. She gently said, "It's okay, let them chat, don't disturb them." Hanging up, Rong Ci sent Feng Jingxin a message asking about her day at school, if she made new friends, what she had for lunch, and reminded her to listen to the teacher and have a good nap.
After more than ten minutes, Feng Jingxin replied with a voice message, "I know, Mom. I'll take a good nap."
In the afternoon, after spending a day with Xu Xuena, Rong Ci found that Xu Xuena had an outgoing personality, was good at socializing, and had strong work capabilities. Around six in the evening, as Rong Ci was preparing to leave work, Xu Xuena invited her to dinner to thank her for today's guidance.
"This is part of my job, Secretary Xu, there's no need to be so polite," Rong Ci declined. Before Xu Xuena could persuade her further, Rong Ci's phone rang—it was her mother-in-law Sang Qian calling. Surprised by the call, Rong Ci picked up, "Mom?"
"Tingyi has been secretly playing racing recently, and I'm worried. I'll send you the address; please bring him back," Sang Qian commanded without any extra words and hung up immediately. A few seconds later, she sent the address of a suburban racetrack.
Rong Ci told Xu Xuena, "Sorry, I have an emergency to handle, I must go."
Over an hour later, Rong Ci arrived at the destination. The racetrack was large, and despite the late hour, there were still many people around, creating a noisy atmosphere. Unable to reach Feng Tingyi by phone, Rong Ci searched everywhere for him.
After nearly twenty minutes, she finally found him. Feng Tingyi was surprised to see her, "Sister-in-law, why are you here?"
Rong Ci explained her reason for coming. Feng Tingyi swore, "Today is my goddess's first race since returning to Asia. I can't miss it! I promise I'll go back right after watching the race. So, Sister-in-law, please don't worry about me, just go back!"
"But—" Before Rong Ci could finish, the crowd started shouting "CC."
"My goddess is coming out!" Hearing the commotion, Feng Tingyi forgot about Rong Ci and joined the excited crowd, cheering loudly while using binoculars to watch the starting line.
Seeing Feng Tingyi's enthusiasm, Rong Ci asked curiously, "When did you start liking racing?" She knew he wasn't interested in racing before.
"Before, I wasn't interested—but that was before I met my goddess! You won't believe how beautiful and cool she is! Once you see her, you'll understand why I like racing, and you'll definitely be enchanted too!"
As CC appeared, Feng Tingyi went wild, momentarily forgetting about Rong Ci. Rong Ci hadn't eaten dinner yet. Seeing his intense admiration for CC, she decided to stay until the race ended and then take him home.
A while later, Feng Tingyi handed her the binoculars, enthusiastically saying, "Sister-in-law, quick, look at my goddess! Number 38, wearing the red racing suit! Super sexy and wild!"
Though not particularly interested in racing, Rong Ci took the binoculars and looked through them. She was stunned—Lin Wu was CC? She had heard that Lin Wu excelled in extreme sports but didn't know she raced cars so well, captivating so many young fans.
Dressed in a dark red tight racing suit, Lin Wu looked stunningly elegant, bold, and beautiful. Rong Ci adjusted the lens and accidentally saw Feng Tingshen in the audience, also mesmerized by Lin Wu.
Holding the binoculars tightly, Rong Ci watched as the race began. Feng Tingyi anxiously took back the binoculars. Rong Ci continued looking at Feng Tingshen's direction, noticing their daughter Feng Jingxin and Feng Tingshen's close friends were also there, clearly supporting Lin Wu.
Several racing cars sped past, causing cheers from the crowd. Feng Tingyi passed the binoculars back, urging, "Sister-in-law, look, my goddess drives so boldly and steadily, it's super cool!"
Rong Ci watched as Lin Wu expertly maneuvered through a sharp turn, impressing everyone with her daring moves. Previously uninterested in racing, Rong Ci was now captivated by Lin Wu's bravery.
For a long time, she remained still, realizing why Feng Tingshen would be enchanted by her.
